    Isn't it Ironic

Wow! Who would have thought!!! The good thing is that small indulgence, is quite inexpensive in the big scheme of things and makes you feel better inside and out...so GO FOR IT! I love the way I look and feel when I wear makeup...but I can't wear mascara as it bothers my eyes BIG TIME...but the bigger problem now is I have "power surges" and end up with it all wiped off shortly after I put it on...so I barely bother anymore (I work in a call center, so no one sees me)... but, like you, when I do put it on I feel more "girly" and better all inside and out :) Enjoy the brand you can use (which one is it by the way) and after you find it works...get SEVERAL colors and have fun!!!

    just WRONG

The manager is the spokesperson to the vending people...but I realize I have to (and do) take responsibility for my own stuff...like I said I was just in a mood to vent, I guess... It just seems ridiculous to me that clean Water is not available to us...even if we have to pay for it. I do plan on getting a new job, but we are buying a house, so until that happens, I have to stay put (banks want you to be at your job at least two years) Again, thanks for listening
  3. @shmeyers sure...simplest things EVER! Oven at 350 I use parchment paper, so I don't use any oil...lay it out on a cookie sheet Small piles of parmesan (use the kind in the bag or that you grate yourself...not the green "box") Pat them down a bit...they don't spread much, so you can put them fairly close (I make them the size of a half dollar) Bake for about 8 minutes...until a bit brown (again the brown-ness depends on the brand cheese you use) cool and serve I have played with them so I know when the color is right for the crispness I like. Use with hummus, salsa, anything you would use with a chip! They store well too. **be careful, they are addicting!**

    Suggestions please!

@slb2u2 i take it this is fresh broccoli... I never tried to bake it! Interesting... I like it!

    just WRONG

Yeah, I always try to keep nuts at my desk...or ONE Quest bar (if I have more than one at my desk, i will it more than one that day!). But the Water is inexcuseable...not to have WATER available! The tap water STINKS .... I mean actually smells coming out of the tap... so there is no way. Plus my husband sells water purification systems, so I KNOW whats in the water around here; that's why I bring my own from home... but I went thru it all (I bring a BIG thermos filled with ice water every day)... It's just one of the other little things that peck at me about this place... I guess I'm just in a really bad mood today...so I have to shake it off and move on... I know it's really no big deal in the perspective of life...but I NEED water...not carbonated crap! Thanks for listening

How soon after rny can you lift weights?

that is a personal thing...you need to check with your doctor to see how you are healing...if you are talking about hand weights, that shouldn't be too far after; however weight LIFTING will take some time...
  7. BigGirlPanties

    Suggestions please!

well, you can cover it in cheese...at least in the beginning...and then add less and less cheese so you can stand it...but I'd say try green beans... low sugar, etc...almost as good a broccoli or spinach...always an excellent choice

    pre op panic

never, never, never look back...moving forward is all I think about now... it's ALL good... you will feel that way soon as well. This is an emotional time, we are here for support...but that's why the doctors want you to see a therapist...to help with perspective and what you THINK is going to happen versus the reality of it all. After you are all done and healed up, you will know it's the best thing you've ever done for YOU!
  9. yes there is still some restriction...not as much as in the beginning... but it's still there
  10. I'm over two years out...and while I still would like to lose some more; if I stay where I'm at, I'll be happy. Like any other addiction (even tho we need food to survive, we don't need the junk and amount we were throwing down our throats pre surgery) ... you can back slide; tho it's not quite as easy after surgery. I may have extra Snacks, but now that will be raw almonds or an extra sugar free fudge bar... so I still make better choices all the way around. I don't crave carbonated beverages or candy/sweets for the most part... I make healthy choices whenever possible (which is almost always possible)...even at McDonalds...I LOVE Breakfast sandwiches and the drive thru...it makes me feel like an "adult"...it's a silly thing...so I get an Egg McMuffin without the muffin...they know to put my cheese in the middle and I'm so happy with my little treasure! Every day we are faced with JUNK options...the tool you have now will help you survive and get thru them. You may have to do some planning, especially now that holidays are coming...be PREPARED! Bring items YOU can have, don't worry about whether others will like it...I love making parmesan chips and having with Salsa...now my friends expect them at parties, they LOVE them too. You've got this... use your resources!!! Good luck and congratulations!

did I just ruin my chances?

...as my (bariatric) therapist likes to say...just BREATHE... it'll be ok... we get ourselves stressed out for nothing...it's best to be honest anyway...I'm sure, like everyone else, that it will be just fine! Let us know when you get approved!

    Ok hope this helps!

everyone is different...how many gummies per day did you take and for how long? these things do take time to "flow" thru your system...

    Constipation (TMI?) Solution for newbies

They have gummies for everything!!! How much sugar are in those things? I've never had/tried gummy vitamins, etc...might be something worth exploring
  14. over two years, cabonated beverage free...where's my "chip"

    What’s Your Halloween Plan?

@MichiganChic this is our first Halloween at this house..so I cut them up and put the apple slice coupons on the side (ok...so there are some treats for ME)... if I don't need them, I have the ones I can use... I hope I bought enough...but for 12 coupons for $1 it is definately the way to go! Kids don't always get what it is, so I tell them "these are McDonalds coupons" and if the parent is there, I point it out so it doesn't get thrown out... But I've been doing it for years, just because I know myself and candy anyway... like you said, why start back down that rabbit hole!
  16. you should still be able to go on a cruise shortly after surgery...or why don't you change the date of surgery to right after the cruise? Either way, good luck

    Quest Bars?

Love the chocolate chip...some of the others I'll have on occasion, to break it up. Luna bars and Clif bars have more sugar content than a Quest bar... you need to check that label! I also make Protein doughnuts (from Eggface), that are SO yummy and may have one of those instead for an option...

    What’s Your Halloween Plan?

I buy McDonald Coupons... 12 pack for $1...the kids get a free hamburger, milk, apple slices, or juice...so definately a PLUS there... Mom doesn't have to worry about what the kid is getting, and any extras I can use (apple slices) or give to my neices and nephews/neighbor kids, etc... so no candy...no temptation...no problem!

    Feeling nauseous constantly

It is common to be nauseous after the surgery...but if you are not getting anything down, the doctors office should see you ASAP, you may need a "fill up" and be dehydrated! INSIST to see the doctor, if you have to, becaude dehydration is a very bad thing! Try some ginger...they say to use the ginger tablets or a slice under your tongue... I've never tried it, but the books say that helps. Good luck, feel better!

    Anyone in SC?

What part? I'm in Savannah, just over the border...depending on where you live, of course
  21. you go in and tell them you are scheduled for surgery and will be out for several weeks, using FMLA, and ask them for the paperwork that is needed... technically they cannot ask you what is going on... if they do, it's best to tell the truth to HR(or you have the option to say "I'd rather not discuss it"), but you DO NOT have to get in to details.. Good luck
  22. ditto! would LOVE to go to Boston and help out
  23. BigGirlPanties

    Not bad!

Amazing how many doctors don't have a good "bedside manner"... same principle applies to "common sense" which seems to be lacking, BIG TIME, in todays society... you know and we know you have done exceptionally well... don't let that idiot get you down (and if I know you, you won't ...)
