Flintstone Complete?
BigGirlPanties replied to Themachine28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you still need the B12, even if it's in there...biotin helps with the hair and nails, and calcium citrate... good luck -

Who did you surprise or impress the most with your results?
BigGirlPanties replied to KeeWee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear about your husband, Magtart; but glad you took time for YOU! I know the feeling, my hubby and I live in Savannah and most of my family is in Chicago... I miss them... I saw one sister a few months back and she almost didn't recognize me... except that I am beginning to look more and more like my Mom every day!!! LOL...(she was thin-er) -

I'm with you, Magtart...I didn't give it a second thought...went full throttle from the time I started on my journey to get approved right thru my surgery...my husband was probably more apprehensive than I was (he wasn't my hubby at that time) ... surgery is surgery and it can be a bit intimidating; but like most, I felt that my quality of life was non-existent and this would help me get it back, and it HAS! -

I wish my parents were still alive to see this (and for many other reasons, of course)... my Mom would be SO happy at my current state of being... Other than that...I'm good... my hubby loved me when I was at my highest (actually about the time we met) and loves me now...I can almost fit into his clothes now.... I keep telling him "what's mine, is mine; what's yours, is mine" ... now I'll be into his clothes.... (hello, boyfriend jacket) -

what is "bootcamp"? I'm at a stall...what are your suggestions to try to over-come it... I'd like to have 15-20 more pounds off by this time in March... -
DRY HEAVES HELP!
BigGirlPanties replied to Lovely London's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope you have called your doctor..."every morning" is not a good thing...something is a miss here.... please let us know what you find out! Feel better soon. -
...I don't mind the same stuff... I made mini cupcake lasagnas on Saturday and have had them for lunch each day...until I get rid of them... I guess I'm lucky that the "same ol', same ol'" doesn't bother me... ...but you have to get over the phobia of wasted food...at least for now... it is going to take awhile to adjust your cooking/eating to accommodate your sleeve; so be patient and do what you have to do to take care of YOU!

That's an interesting visual...my dogs weigh about 10 pounds each so by that logic, I have lost over 12 dogs...by your measurement 24!!! I like it!

A little assistance please...

Mine are Power Crunch...I love love love the chocolate mint (think-thin mints) and vanilla creme, but they have several flavors...they are available online at the Vitamin Shoppe at a really good price... low carbs and sugar...I keep one in my purse at all times for "emergencies"... i.e. I'm out and about and feeling the hunger pangs.. -
Almost there!

YOU GO GIRL!!! Congrats! -
Even tho you have less "dumping" on the sleeve, I have had it happen to me too...lessons learned QUICKLY... to this day, I keep a plastic cup with lid in my car and at my desk ... just in case; as you know, you have NO time to get to a proper "dumping site"...Fortunately this hasn't happened in quite some time, but better safe than sorry! ... LOL... good luck!

Where can I find protein drink samples?
BigGirlPanties replied to tiredtwinmommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in a rut...I may use that idea as well to try something new! Thanks! -
...I am part of a chain...2 people in my office had the sleeve done, then me, now another... well, actually she wanted the sleeve, but was convinced the RNY was better for her... My sister and my therapist both had WLS done about 10 years ago and both have said, if they could do it all over again, they would have gone with the sleeve... I am loving my sleeve, it is a great tool... I did my research... it helps a great deal to understand everything about this surgery, as it is SURGERY... but I don't regret one moment of it, and am an advocate of the sleeve for anyone that asks!

I still struggle with....(fill in the blanks)
BigGirlPanties replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
eating slowly ... I think that tops just about everyones list! pre-planning well... I do have things in the frig for my meals, but I don't really "plan" fortunately, with my job, I get my water in as I bring a jug of ice water from home every day (clean water system at home)...and vitamins I keep at work, so I don't have a problem there either -
Pre-Op Liquid Diet
BigGirlPanties replied to want2besleeved87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
...it may seem like a lot...but wait until you get there! LOL...but we are here for support. that's part of your problem... you are NOT eating 3x's a day!!! As you will learn, it is imperative that you have 3 full meals a day, and drink your water; especially after surgery...it is VITAL...so start practicing now... I have it easier, I have a desk job, so I bring my ice Water from home (clean water system there) in a thermal jug to get me thru the day... you can do this...just BELIEVE! Protein and low carbs are the keys here, so read your labels, you will learn to do that with everything going forward anyway. The yogurt we were told to get is carbmaster available at Kroger (if you have them near you)... low carbs, higher protein. -
Pre-Op Liquid Diet
BigGirlPanties replied to want2besleeved87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Each doctor is different... but mine had no "real" food... all liquids for two weeks... the best thing to do is ask your doctor what they mean by "snacks" so you do it right... good luck to you, congrats on setting the date! -
Pre-Op Liquid Diet
BigGirlPanties replied to want2besleeved87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what 3 "meals" are you speaking of? Protein shakes? You don't have meals, the shakes are your meal; unless your dr. is doing it differently. The Snacks are things like no sugar Jello, low carb (carbmaster) yogurt...things of that nature... it helps you get thru the day... is that what you are referring to? -
yep, that pretty much sums up the range of emotions....good luck to you and I hope they push it up... that's always exciting!

Bariatric coordinator thinks RNY would be better for me. What to do?!
BigGirlPanties replied to Scylla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know two people that had the RNY over 10 years ago, and while they are still doing well; they both said, if they had it to do over, they would have sleeved. Have you told your coordinator of your concerns and that you'd rather be sleeved? You really need to understand the pros and cons from her side. One of the girls in our office just got the RNY instead of the sleeve because that's what her coordinator told her as well (different dr) ... but she really wanted the sleeve; she felt the overall benefits for long term were better... I am glad I got the sleeve...no regrets! If you are thinking the RNY is a good "dumping" tool to control your eating; that's not good... but it sounds like you guys need to have further discussion.
