    Time to Stop Lurking

it's still early...and you are still on liquids... I can't drink Water like I used to...it NEEDS to be flavored! Which I found so strange...but it happens to some and not all...just like everything else... Good luck to you
  2. I agree...especially self pay!!! ask for the WIIFM (what's in it for me).... what's the worse that can happen? They say "no" or don't use you...big deal...but I would 100% ask, if that money is coming out of your pocket!

    Time to Stop Lurking

Congrats...and welcome... I found room temperature and/or hot beverages went down easier in the beginning...and I know this is the exact opposite, but I lot of people used sugar free popsicles to help with their fluids....

    GS recovery time?

Check with your doctor...but I am willing to bet he tells you that is too soon as GS is a major surgery; if you are doing a full on vacation...too much walking/lifting/doing is not good right after good luck

    new foods?

I've recently entered the world of tofu and LOVE mock chicken salad. Also Walmart has chicken bites (unbreaded) and beef fajita in the freezer section so I ALWAYS have something I can eat available...
  6. Don't give in...it's not worth it...as you progress, some will tell you that you can have a little this or that...now that I've purged myself of fried foods, carbonated beverages, sugar(sweets) I haven't looked back and I don't want it because I know if I do give in it will probably start a snowball effect...and I'm tired of looking like a snowball! IMO....

    questions questions and more ?'s

@Bufflehead I have FINALLY started using My Fitness Pal on my phone, since I always have it with me, easier that trying to write it down...I was not diligent...I admit it A friend just gave me a fitbit, so I will be doing the sync up thing shortly...but I didn't know that I could customize MFP!!! So this weekend, after my pool workout, I will play with that some more while I'm drying off in the sun (yes, I bought a bathing suit!! YIKES ) I love the info I collect from everyone here!!!

6 days post op and wisdom tooth!

I don't know what to tell you about the tooth pain...it's probably coincidental and you should see your dentist... but for the other... please remember that y'all just had MAJOR surgery! You may have just a few scars on the outside, but inside, you look like Frankensteins monster (my new favorite saying)... you need time to HEAL. After major surgery you are also tired from the drugs you had in the hospital, anethesia, etc... it takes a few weeks for that to wear off, and you will feel like yourself again...it DOES get better, honest. Be sure to do whatever you can to get in your liquids, staying hydrated is paramount! If cold Water doesn't go down, try room temp or a hot beverage, sometimes that is more soothing to the palate/tummy. And be sure you are taking your B12, now and for forever...this will help your energy level. So, relax, do what you need to and it will all fall in place shortly. Good luck!

    Stupid weight loss advice

@moonlitestarbrite ...same here...my husband has cut out his carbonated beverages, along with me, and lost 20 pounds without even trying!!! He has/had a bit of a tummy, but not overweight... life is so unfair sometimes

    Quinoa vs Millet

The only experience I have with Millet is feeding it to the birds... never tried it in any other form...

    5 day pouch test

I cannot speak from experience, but my friend did it to help get back on track...and it worked for her...she needed to "purge" her system again But I do not believe it takes your pouch back to "immediate post surgery status" ...but it helps you regain control again... Good luck!

    Could my body reject surgery?

it looks like you were recently sleeved...if that's the case, it could be any of the medications given to you in the hospital (some take a few days to show themselves)... like the anethesia, insulin, etc... if it continues and doesn't look like it's getting better...see your PCP!
  13. @Skywalker I think you've heard "plenty"...I just want to say that going to the psych that your surgeon recommends would probably be the best thing for you... As far as Premier Protein... that is the Protein that you can possibly, get for free from InsureNutrition.com...so many of us use it... they also may provide you with free Vitamins and a wonderful scar cream When you are on this program of eating, you don't need any other...so you won't need Weight Watchers, etc...the surgeon should be giving you a list of items you can and cannot have and you take it from there. recipes are EVERYWHERE for Bariatics...cookbooks, websites (like this one) and the blog that most of us love for recipes is The World According to Eggface... Good luck...I'm sure it will turn around soon

    Low energy

It will get better...it doesn't say when you had your surgery...I assume it was recently... I say this all the time...however....what you have to remember is that you just had MAJOR surgery...even tho you just have a few scars on the outside, your insides like like Frankenstein's monster!!! Be sure to stay hydrated, take your Vitamins, especially B12...and RELAX... your body needs time to heal...you'll be better than ever soon! Honest!

    Pre-test annoyances

I feel for you! It's horrible when they can't work with you like that... I completely understand... good luck, hope all goes well

    Sharp pain lower right side

I agree with JCsMamaBear ...it could just be gas (walking helps) or maybe it's gallbladder or something like that... hope all is well...

    4 weeks out- watermelon ok?

right, no fruit..most have.high sugar and carbs...you'd be best talking with your NUT about that... I think it's too soon for it... you can get watermelon sugar free flavoring for your water etc from Toscani, if you want the flavor

    Day 3 of PreOp...

why is it "my hubby will not agree"? doesn't he want you to do the surgery?
  19. don't know if it fits into this catagory...but I have recently learned that I actually like tofu! I bought some Mock chicken salad from Whole Foods, and it is YUM-O! I plan on making my own in the future but I have corrected myself on the berating as well!
  20. BigGirlPanties

Stall @ week 3? Seems to soon for that?

a week really isn't a stall...2-3 weeks is! TRUST ME, I KNOW But just stay on track and it will move...this is the time to explore your NSVs!

    Really!?!?

@Chelly that's so stupid...the vending machines here at work are the same...but it's work not a work out place! GEEZ! I have asked that they put in raw almonds (3 months ago)... no luck... but one would think healthy alternatives should be in ALL vending machines... maybe we can start a "movement" for that!

    Non-Scale Victory

NSVs are the best! (well other than the scale moving downward )
