    Hardest thing for you?

I (basically) don't eat any starch/carbs and I don't miss it...I order my Protein with double veggies and I'm good for a few days... At home, we barely have any starchy items in the house... We have one restaurant we go to that has these wonderful, warm LITTLE roll...and I may have one of those on occasion...little bits of heaven...but that's it!

Weight loss seems to have stalled

Yes, VERY...that said...put away the scale!!! Weigh yourself once a week, same time, same place... Use your body as a guide for your loss as things get too big...the scale thing every day will make you crazy...our body fluctuates all the time... you will experience stalls along the way, just stick with the program and it will "fix" itself... good luck

Confused about eating for protein or hunger...

you are still healing...things will change up a bit... you are only consuming liquids, so you really won't have that "FULL" feeling... but you will feel a tightness...or you should... but don't worry, it will all work itself out...just stay hydrated! Main thing right now...LIQUIDS

@Avryv with cottage cheese...put in blender a bit to make it smoother for yourself, maybe add a bit of milk if that helps...but you'll get there...don't push it... you'll be glad you took it slow! adding Protein powder to just about anything will help you as well
  6. I think that's one reason they have you do a psych eval... most people think this will "fix" everything...but you still have to work at it. The sleeve is but a tool, and you still have to put the right things in your mouth! Only with the tool, you fill up faster, so you know you have to eat the right things or there won't be any room left! (so you won't be very tempted) During the liquid phase, most of us found the first few days the hardest, as your body goes thru detox...but after that, it comes much easier, especially knowing what waits for you at the end of that road! Good luck, you've got this!!!!

@Avryv every doctor is a bit different (unfortunately) on their program... if it's working for you, that's cool... but now is the time to refrain from extra sugars and carbs to lose faster... but you are doing just fine

    Hardest thing for you?

@Avryv yes just like using mio or any other flavoring...even the crystal light... and there is a website to help you "mix it up"...but I've never looked at the recipes. You can add it to your Protein shakes to change up the flavors as well, helps get rid of the "boring" aspect, especially while still on liquids! We get the big bottles from World Market for about $7 each. Bed, Bath and Beyond started carrying some called "Skinny Girl", I believe, I got pomegranate, which was good in my tea Yeah girl, MIX IT UP!!!

    Hardest thing for you?

@Avryv have you had the surgery yet? your stats say April 2014, so I wasn't sure. I was a TOTAL coke-aholic...I had a 2 liter bottle (easy) of diet coke every day... I don't drink coffee. I thought I would DIE without it ... LOL... but now, I'm good... after the first few days of my liquid diet, I was set... now I don't miss it at all. My husband has even reduced his carbonated beverages...one of the things he loves is his Water with a bit of vanilla Torani syrup and a dash of carmel syrup in it... he said it's like cream soda... or something ... I haven't tried that....but those syrups now line up on the counter in our kitchen and we use them a lot...they are GREAT and cheaper than Mio, etc

Confused about eating for protein or hunger...

the short answer is yes...protein first...try to use your liquid Protein first and other liquids throughout the day... first you need liquids to stay hydrated...and protein helps your skin and muscles...drink it slowly, you'll get there...even if it takes all day! take a few sips and put in frig...so it's ready when you want some... but you need liquids and protein can be part of it... good luck, you've got this...it's a little tough in the beginning slow and steady wins the race...

    Heavy belly/ skin question

also Insure Nutrition send me some wonderful scar cream that also helps with stretch marks... so I've applied it ALL over... not greasy...no scent...it's great stuff!!! ...and it was FREE!

I thought it was a good idea but...

My husband is just happy when I cook...anything!!! most of my experiments are pretty simple, so he's been happy... he loved the parmesan chips, and cauliflower pizza, which surprised me, he even orders smasked cauliflower when we go out now instead of potatoes! The Italian stuffed chicken was no biggie, but I never made it before...etc... I found a recipe for spinach/ginger Soup that looks good, since I haven't really had soup since I started this...even tho it's springtime, I may make a batch to try it out...it's also suppose to help with stomach upsets because of the ginger

    Half full or half empty.....

you are doing FABULOUSLY!!! just think about the big picture...when was the last time you lost 67 pounds in 3 months... if you are like us...the answer would be "NEVER"... so keep your perspective, and keep on keeping on!!! Great Job!

Flat line none lost none gained!

I agree, for what you are doing, it sounds like you are not eating enough... you have been doing great...so just think of it as a win, since you haven't gained... that's how I see it... I have been plateaued for a bit, so I'm doing the 5 day plan to help kickstart me (in the butt)... Good luck, you've got this! Excellent job!!!

    Hardest thing for you?

Good subject. I struggle with the drinking as well...I have been working on waiting the full 30 minutes after a meal as I have been at a plateau, and figured that should help. I think we all have to come to grips with the fact that we still have to work on this...it's not a miracle surgery, it's a tool to help us... I've been "maintaining" beautifully...but the problem is I still have more I want to lose...so I am planning on doing the 5 day plan next week!

    Im freaking out

yep, i was going to say the same as bufflehead...are you waiting a half hour to drink after your "food", you really need to get in that habit soon... I still struggle with it... and I'm at a plateau, so I figured that's not helping... we shall see what Monday brings since I only weigh myself once a week. Good luck...take it easy!

    Heavy belly/ skin question

With my weight loss, so far my stomach isn't as bad as I thought it would be, it's my upper arms that are awful...full on "bat wings"... but I'm working with weights to tighten that up too... everyone is different, and many get a tummy tuck after they have reached their goal... but if I don't qualify for one, I'll get thru it... I do get rashes under my tummy flap and breasts on occasion...gold bond helps
  19. BigGirlPanties

I thought it was a good idea but...

Protein cannot be put into anything too hot or it will separate... I think 140 degrees is the max... you can sprinkle it on your food before you eat tho ... at least you are trying new things... who knows, it may have worked! Good luck!

Awakening / Fear of Being Seen

Loving the comments...I think most of us that have had weight issue work under the invisible cloak... I was the one that watched the purses and was designated driver whenever I went out with friends...a role I was fine in playing... but not anymore (well, I'll still be designated driver)... I have found that with this new tool, it has bolstered my own inner confidence... can't say why, exactly, but I feel more empowered and in charge this time around!

@Avryv be careful of the juices...if it starts from fresh fruit and vegetables, it's not quite as bad, but my doc advised against juice... and fruit should be more of a treat... maybe once or twice a week because of the high carb/sugar count... so that may help you if you cut back on those things a bit... good luck, you guys are doing great!

    Tmi post..... Poop

ikr, @mommyjamie that first bite of "real" food afterwards is heavenly! but as you know, you are completely normal... once you start on the solids you may experience constipations (written about a LOT on here) so you may want to add Miralax or something when that happens! Just to warn you....
  23. BigGirlPanties

    awesome sauce big weight lost

Take charge of your life...just ask him out for coffee...and see what happens from there... yes DO IT... I waited WAAAAY to long for some guy to make the first move...so, I made one to my now husband (I was at almost 300 pounds at the time too)... he is the sweetest most wonderful man on the planet...so it was (kind of) worth the wait Good luck!

    Guilt

I wish I had done this so much earlier... your age has nothing to do with it...it's genetic and yoyo dieting isn't doing you any favors...it's actually hurting you. Don't feel guilty (this too shall pass)... you NEED this for YOU... and in the long run you will have a much better life!
  25. BigGirlPanties

Please help, food makes me sick

@srivers76 it is normal, but you need to call your doctor to get something to take to ease the discomfort...it will pass...but right now, you are feeling miserable, so CALL!!! Also ginger helps with nausea...you can get tablets/capsules in the Vitamin aisle, or add fresh ginger to some of your Protein drinks...the taste is pretty mild... I've heard that if you put a slice in your mouth and just hold it for a few minutes, it helps; but I haven't tried it... but yes, you should post to the regular forum to get more assistance, but really the bottom line is, call your doctor, as it may also be that you are not getting in enough liquids and may be dehydrated, which causes nausea as well Good luck...it will work out! Promise!
