That's good ! I agree it sounds complacent, which is not the attitude you should get. it's not acceptable if they don't understand how we feel, we Do not want to hear excuses we want action! Let me know how you get on. I'm sending all my positive strength your way xoxo

That's terrible service! when we depend (and pay) for their service! I would be extremely upset too, I'm so sorry this has happened x

I'm sure this news is unnerving Scorpion509, but you have a date, if you need to Change it you can, if not go for it! Good luck, I would love to bring my surgery forward but it's not a possibility for me. I'm sure I will feel more nervous as it gets closer xxx
  5. This really helps! I have one cup of coffee each day maybe 2 on a Long day. Some days none at all. But the idea of no coffee at all is abhorrent. I agree ith Happy Camper everything in moderation. Oh & my surgeon has never mentioned coffee but has mentioned other no nos & slider foods. It does seem to be different opinions.

Good luck Lizandberry hope your husband gets well soon & your surgery appends as planned x
  7. Dexter, we All jump through the hoops and yes! It's vile vile vile! Some things are humiliating and you can't see what the point of them is. But keep positive. Anything worth having is worth working for and won't be easy. Is it a test from god to see how determined we are? If so show him, he will reward you. Good luck x

    No Pre-Op Diet?

My pre op diet is low fat similar to weight watchers, no liquid only but I think I will do final day liquids just to be safe. It's quite relaxed more no alcohol no over eating.
  9. Yes! As I keep saying everything is going to be brilliant! I'm not sure how things work in other countries but it seems like the NHS is similar to many insurance companies in the US. (although all Brits have to pay NHS contributions whether or not you have private medical insurance). I don't qualify for surgery paid by the NHS (at 250ish lb I'm not heavy enough!) so self pay is my only option! It looks like Prices are much higher in the UK I am paying £11,000 for my surgery but its an investment in my future and give me 2 years & it will be paid off AND hopefully I shouldn't have any rescheduling problems (hope I don't get I'll!) This will be an amazing journey for all of us. I have been "heavy set" all my life! And can't wait to be "normal"
  10. My friend lost 200lbs with the band! Amazing & I was considering it, BUT she suffered a massive infection at yr 6 & it HAD to be removed ! Something called erosion she was in terrible shape! Apparently this is common and around 50% of bankers have some infection or erosion problem. She had a sleeve the year after and has been ok. The problems she had with the band put me off surgery totally (for a while anyway) finally I did take the plunge and spoke to a surgeon I talked about my concerns and he said that the biggest part of his work now is band revision surgery, where the band either does not work or erodes! I have chosen the sleeve, smaller chance if infection & complications. 5 weeks to go!
  11. I understand, we all want this soo much when there is a delay it only adds to our stress. I know a girl here in the UK that was funded by our NHS (a type of universal healthcare we have in England) the NHS is great for emergency surgery but when it comes to elective surgery not so much. Any way she was "cancelled" 4 times on the day of surgery! Soooo upsetting for her. She had to wait 8 months to start with & then a further 4 months due to cancellations. Rant away! You need to get all that negativity out! I hope you get a date soon x

I think I'm luck that I had my gallbladder out 10 yrs ago the surgery itself is simple but the risk of infection is high, it would depend on your surgeon & if they think it's possible. I know 1 person who did it & she was fine.
