  1. Yep. Kinda makes me sad when I try something I used to love pre surgery and don't like it at all post surgery. It has gotten better but there are still things I don't care for anymore and new things I like now.
  2. I agree, I can eat a lot of salad! I was amazed at how much. If I throw in some chicken it's a it less. I love salad too and was so happy to have it again!
  3. I would let your doctor know. They can prescribe something for your heartburn. I was on protonix for the first 3 months.
  4. I broke down in tears a week after surgery! After that I noticed my patience was kinda thin but it only lasted a few weeks for me.
  5. Mine was an hour and a half also and my hubby was gonna stay the night but I told him to go sleep in a real bed, I knew he wouldn't get very good sleep there at the hospital with me. You will do fine! My pain wasn't too bad, ill pray yours isn't either! Have fun!

THAT'S EVIL!!! Have fun camping by the way!
  7. I don't just volunteer the information with ppl I know, however if they ask, I'm honest and tell them. You know what's weird tho? I find it easier to tell a stranger than someone I know. The first time was at a chik fil a I went to for lunch (they have grilled chicken nuggets, sooo good) and they asked what I wanted to drink and when I told them no drink they looked at me all crazy and kept trying to offer me bottled Water, lol! So I just told the guy I had wls and can't eat and drink at the same time. He was soooo nice!! Gave me a free bottle of water for later when I could drink and told me good luck. The other was at a buffet I went to with my husband. I told them I had had wls and couldn't eat much and the girl was super sweet, charged me a kids price and asked how my success has been. I used to not want anyone to know but my husband tells everyone he works with and told me how proud he is of me and that I should be proud of how I was taking care of myself. He's very supportive. Now I don't worry so much about who knows or doesn't know. I will say however that if anyone ever said to me that I took the easy way out, they had better run after saying it

I know right?! How about something really yummy like a whole pizza?! Ha ha ha!
  9. Everything becomes habit after a while. The pooping thing should resolve eventually but in the meantime you take a Fiber supplement. You will most likely lose hair but you aren't going to go bald milk....you could become lactose intolerant but then your tastes will change after surgery and maybe you won't like or want milk anyway. I was like you in that it was nothing out of the ordinary for me to have coffee, juice and water along with my Breakfast but you learn to wait. Again, it's just habits you form along the way. But to see the scale move and your clothes becoming baggy makes it all worth it!
  10. I know! If there is one thing I've learned about this surgery and drs is there are no "set" rules.
  11. Wow! Ok, I was told it was due to high BMIs.
  12. My biggest fear was not waking up after surgery. And the hardest thing I've had to overcome is head hunger and not drinking while I eat.

None of mine are keloid. They are pretty light but you can still see them. I made the mistake of sunbathing too soon so they turned dark for a bit. Yes, I rock a 2 piece! Lol! I don't really care what anyone thinks. As far as a guy, well I'm married so I don't have to worry about it. If he's worth it, he'll understand. If he's a one night stand and you dont want to explain, hit the lights!
  19. We have the same surgery date! I like the gym more now too since surgery! Keep it up!
  20. I was told this also but at my 2 month post op appt I was told caffeine was ok again.
  21. I had that when I was having problems with my sciatic nerve. It sounds like it might be from laying flat on your back for surgery so long. Mine went away after a few months.
  22. Sweeeeet!!! You look great! Congrats on the downsizing!!
