I was noticing today that I could see thru my hair! I was in a store, looked in a mirror and saw the sun behind me shining brightly thru, it looked so thin!! Uhhh....

    Scared?

I've lost a lot in my face, booty and thighs but where I really need/want to lose it is in my tummy! Uhhh, it's losing too but not as much as the rest!
  3. Some ppl go and pig out on their favorite foods "one last time" before having surgery thinking they won't ever be able to eat it again after surgery which isn't true. You will be able to eat your favorite foods again one day, just not as much prior to being sleeved.

    My NSVs..

That is so neat! It's amazing what we will do for our loved ones even when our bodies are hurting, I can totally relate with my knees. And now to be able to go hiking and not have that pain is truly wonderful! Congratulations!

    Scared of Food

Omg I soooo know where you're coming from! I was sleeved 1/15 and I have been thinking this same thing. I'm in a stall right now and I've been freaking myself out! I swear I'm gaining weight even tho the scale doesn't say that my head does. and the past few days I'm battling feeling depressed thinking this is it, I've lost 80lbs, end of the road. I average about 1000 calories a day and I'm wondering if I'm eating too much or it enough or what! I've been going back to basics this last week, drinking lots of Water and increasing Protein and exercise. My hunger has come back a lot and so now I'm battling that too. Sad that 1000 calories to me sounds like a lot! Lol! I'm sure it will pass, I'm really sticking to eating protein first to keep that satisfied feeling longer. All we can do is keep on it and wait it out. On a side note, I'm thinking about making an appt with the therapist at my drs office. I think at almost 4 months out, all these changes in my body, eating, stalling etc I feel so overwhelmed I just feel like I need to check in with someone professional ya know? Just to talk it out and see if it helps put things in better perspective.
  6. Ha ha!! That's a great idea! I always feel a little nauseated after cleaning it up!
  7. Do something good with them Laura. Give them to a local women's shelter. Some of those women go there with nothing, including no clothes. The shelter will give them something to wear. I try to do that, it makes me feel better than to just give the to Salvation Army. It will make you feel good like you are helping in some way and it will also allow you to move on in your own life.

    Hunger pangs?

Wow, I'm at 4 months out too and my hunger has totally comeback. I may have a day or two here and there where its not so much but as a norm, I get hungry.

    So Flipping Tired

I agree, make sure you are getting in all your water and protein or it will zap your energy.

    Hair :(

Unfortunately it's unavoidable. You can try using nioxin shampoo or taking Biotin but its due to the rapid weight loss and unless you are one of the lucky few it just happens regardless of what you do. Mines been coming out for almost 2 months now, I'm hoping it stops soon. I'm really the only one who notices, no one else does. I am getting some new growth tho, so I'm not too worried.

    Painful Eating

I agree, I was allowed to eat regular food a week out and I had no trouble. Pain in the tummy and shoulder doesn't sound "normal", I would call the dr.

    Sleepy

I was like that for the first few months. I would have days where I was just more tired than others. It's still early and you're still healing!

    Salsa

I would try taking a Zantac (over the counter) or a Pepcid 30 mins before you know you are going to eat it if it only happens with salsa. If you are having acid on a regular basis I would check with your dr.

    May 6 post surgery

Yay!! Congrats to you and the wife! And Cabo in July?? Heeeeeck yeah! By then you'll be able to swim too! Woo hoo!
  15. Oh also, I agree with the empty calories thing too so I only have one if I do drink and no more than once a month. I would rather eat my calories than drink them. And like everything I eat or drink, it goes in my fitness pal.
  16. Personally I have drank 3 times since surgery, I'm almost 4 months out, and it went quite well. The first time I drank too much and it stalled me for 2 weeks, I didn't know it could do that. Also, I didn't get but a little buzz which i thought was weird. The 2nd time I had a wine cooler and got buzzed and the 3rd I had a mikes hard lemonade and also got buzzed. I'm sure ill hear it for drinking a carbonated adult beverage but oh well, my dr is ok with it so long as its only one. I'm wondering if the carbonation had anything to do with the effects. I would say as long as your dr is ok with it you should be fine. Just make sure you wait to drink it the 30 mins before or after. If you go out with friends that should be easy as most ppl like to hang out for a bit and catch up.

    Slider foods

Omg before surgery I loved those stupid things!! I wouldn't even test it now, I don't know that I could use self control when eating those! Lol! Oh but I did make Mac n cheese for my hubby tonight and I was SOOOO proud of myself, I didn't eat any, not even a taste cuz that's another one I doubt I could use self control. One bite would lead to the whole batch, or at least til I burst my sleeve!

    Slider foods

According to my fitness pal it only has 248 calories (small bag) which is still kinda high but I do eat at least half the bag and make sure to log it. We only go to the movies maybe once a month tho. But ur right it is a slider and I could easily eat the whole bag.
  19. She's a talk show host on during the day. She's pretty funny and always has the best gossip about the stars!
  20. I feel you. I'm almost 4 months out and the past 2-3 weeks I've gotten so lazy with my tracking. I haven't gained anything but I do notice it's easier to eat more now. So I started today, back to basics. I've been chugging my Water today, eating my yogurts and getting in my Protein. I also went back to the gym. You can do it, just have to make up your mind to. Stop the grazing, schedule your eating. I'm doing 3 meals and 2 planned Snacks. I think that's pretty important, plan it so you avoid grazing. Make sure you are feeling real hunger too and not that damn head hunger crap. You can do it! I don't think you stretched anything out, test it by eating some meat first, no veggies or bread and I'm betting you can still only eat maybe 4-5 ounces and be full. Good luck!

Me too! I'm amazed at how much salad I can eat. It's better if I add chicken then I get "full" but if its just salad it slides right thru.
