    how's your pcos/ periods

I was sleeved 1/15/13 and I had my first period on my own last sunday and it lasted 5 days, like a "normal" one! I know it sounds strange but I'm hoping to get one every month. I would love to have a baby. If you look under special interests there is a PCOS support group too. There are lots of women on there with great success stories concerning PCOS!

to mosh or not to mosh

Pink Floyd! Wow how cool! But I'm thinking like Jenn too. Mosh pit stuff for me is like Korn or Sevendust but that's just me. Pink Floyd would be hard for me to pass up tho, they're classic! Have fun!
  3. Ok I made them! They are awesome!! I think my oven is on the way out tho. I cooked them on 400 for 40 mins and the insides were still soft so I put them back in for another 30 mins and they turned crunchy! I love them! Thank you for the recipe!

to mosh or not to mosh

Yikes! Who are you seeing? I would try to skip the mosh pit if possible. Do you have a seat too? If you do go in it, you're a braver woman than I! Lol! I love the inner tube comment! Good one Laura!

    Isopure

Oh and if you get the powder ones buy at mixer cup with a wire ball in it. You can find them by the Protein drinks at Walmart. They are great! The wire ball helps blend all the powder so you don't have clumps. Just a suggestion.

    Isopure

For me my tastes changed so much after surgery. Everyone keeps telling me the Premier ones from costco are so good but i had one before surgery and wanted to barf. I haven't tried it again since surgery. I hated muscle milk before surgery and now I like it. The vanilla flavor when its ice cold is good for me. I did get sample packs off the bariatric pantry website I think they're called Matrix (powder) and I wasn't too crazy about those. I did try Chike sample packs (also powder) and they are really good! I bought them online on their website as well. My husband likes the chocolate whey Protein powder from Walmart. There are so many out there, it's almost a trial and error type thing til you find one you like. Good luck! Oh, and I haven't tried the Isopure....
  7. I'm going grocery shopping this afternoon and I'm totally going to make these!! I even have coconut oil already, I love it! Thanks for the recipe!!

    I got the puppy!

That's is so sad! I'm so sorry you had to go thru that. I love that you adopted from a shelter! There are so many unwanted dogs out there. You will find another one who will love you unconditionally I'm sure of it! Don't give up on the furry ones, they are awesome!

    Embarassing...smelly body odor?

I don't know if it was in my head or what but for me it seemed like my incisions smelled even. Almost medicinal. That combined with my urine and heightened sense of smell after surgery, I would almost hold my breath when going to the bathroom. It does go away though after a few weeks.

    Down there?

I didn't have a catheter for my surgery but when I was wheeled into my room I noticed I was wearing a fabric gown and I had gone into surgery with a thick paper like one. Yeah, here I am with incisions all over my stomach right after surgery and I was distressed to learn that I had been naked on the table while they changed my gown! Lol! Crazy.

    Quick question...

Hey MissTiffany we have the same surgery date! I get hungry. My stomach growls. But really it's day to day, some days I want nothing and have to force myself and other days like today it has been growling when it's time to eat. I'm sorry you've been sick! Hope you feel better soon!

    can i take advil?

I would imagine the reason they don't want you to take ibuprofen is because it is very important to eat when you take them, so as to coat your stomach. I have a friend who didnt do this and she developed an ulcer. We aren't supposed to drink while we eat so trying to get down a tablet with no Water for me would be hard. If you are taking ibuprofen please at least take it with milk. You need something to coat/protect your stomach
  13. I travel 2 hours to mine. It really is worth it! The only time it's bad is when the weather is crappy like yesterday I had an appt and it was snowing Oh and when I had my surgery I had to sign a form saying I would make arrangements to stay in town for the first week after surgery being as I live over 50 miles from my dr. Yeah that was an expensive hotel bill!
  14. I'm so happy for you! I know what it is to want children so badly! I have PCOS as well, I'm only 5 weeks post op but I started my period all on my own on Sunday! I was so excited! I'm hoping to have at least one baby and I'm hoping my PCOS has been resolved with this surgery. Congratulations!!!
  15. Thankfully I'm done with those! I hated injecting myself. I did end up getting a hard knot on my abdomen on the right side. I'm 5 weeks out and it's finally going down. I was on the lovenox.
  16. It's funny I just went to my 1 month post op class tonight and they brought this up. I've already layed out twice since surgery...oops. They said tonight to wait a year because it makes your scars darker. I thought the sun would make them heal faster. I live in Arizona so it was warm enough to lay out a few weeks ago.
  17. Yeah I was told the same thing! I was told it would leave a horrible bruise and was not good to do! They had me watch a video on how to inject it and they said no rubbing.

    Lovenox Shots

I had to do the shots as well for 2 weeks after. We do have nerves in our stomach and you might be hitting one sometimes. When I was doing them I would test it first before injecting. If I could feel a little pinch I knew it would hurt so I would move the needle over a few centimeters and try again, then inject. I'm 5 weeks out yesterday and I still have a small knot on my right side that's slowly going down just FYI if you get any of those they are normal and will go away. It was from the shots. They suck but it's only for a little while, hang in there!

    My 600 lb life

I've seen this guys story. It's very sad. The next one on is Ashley's story, I haven't seen that one yet!

    Boobs!

I'm happy for you! Mine just keep getting saggier...if that's a word! Lol! Wish I could lose some of mine. Congrats on the 50lb loss! Maybe you could ask them why they keep looking at your chest!
  21. I completely agree! I have only told a few people about my surgery. I did tell my husband if anyone ever told me I took the easy way out they had better duck and run after or get ready to meet my fist. There is nothing easy about this decision. I went thru so many emotions, feeling a failure because I had to resort to such drastic measures, being scared that if I didn't go thru with it I would be dead from heart failure in a few years or become diabetic, being scared that if I did go thru with it I could die on the operating table. I went thru ins so I had all kinds of tests and waiting periods to be approved and that causes stress. Yeah, its been sooo easy! Ive been overweight my whole life and had tried everything on my own to get the weight off and this has been the only thing that has worked for me. And since when is major surgery, removing 85% of your stomach an easy way out? I'd like to know what dream world they're living in to have such a thought. And why they feel the need to say it in the first place? So they feel better than you because they never had to take the "easy way out". Walk a mile in my shoes! Sorry, it just frustrates me too I guess

    My first 5k!

That's so cool! You look awesome! That's one of my dreams, to run a marathon. My husband runs them and I so very much want to run one with him. Congratulations!!
