I was allowed to eat chicken after one week. My dr didn't do a mushies/soft food stage, she wants her patients to start eating right away and to make sure we chew everything up very well first. I can only eat about 1-2 oz of chicken tho because its so dense and I chew it really well. The only thing I'm restricted from for the first 6 months is bread, Pasta, rice and white potatoes.

Bodybuilder under all this fat

I agree with Tsnewsrart, I think you might need to increase your calories too. I know it's hard, I can't imagine more than 800 but I think if you do increase you'll shock your system and maybe jump start weight loss again. Its worth a try if you've tried everything else in my opinion. Good luck! Keep doing what you're doing as far as exercise tho cuz you are doing awesome! -

I have a question. Does anyone know if there is some correlation between sweating and eating carbs? I was sleeved 1/15 and have been cold blooded it seems. It's been so nice not breaking out in a sweat all the time. Over the weekend I had a piece of sourdough bread, like a 1/4 of a piece with my soup then today I had half of a small tortilla with my breakfast. Well I went shopping a few hours ago and broke out in a sweat! I was so surprised because I've been so cold 99% of the time since surgery. I'm just wondering if its because I've eaten some carbs? Those have been the only carbs (as far as breads etc) I've eaten since being sleeved.

It gets better! I'm 8 weeks out tomorrow. My tummy was super noisy at first but I think the more you start eating and it gets used to being fed solid food again it settles down. At least for me it has

I was told I could swallow tablets after a month by my dr. Which was good because I detest drinking my meds!

Good luck! You will do great!

I think you may be surprised at what you weigh right before surgery. I didn't have a pre op diet either, just eating lightly the day before and nothing after midnight. When I got on the scale I had lost 7lbs from my last dr appt. I think I was kinda stressing and nervous (it was my first surgery ever) and it caused me to lose weight. I was no angel tho and had a few food funerals ( which was so unnecessary looking back from where I am now) so don't worry. You will be fine! Try to relax and get mentally prepared for the greatest change in your life! Good luck! You will be in my thoughts!

With all do respect, a pound of muscle and a pound of fat are still a pound. However, muscle is more dense than fat which is why ladies, it is important to take measurements! Even when I went thru a stall (sleeved 1/15) I was still losing inches! I only weigh at dr appt now because I don't want to get discouraged. Just keep doing what you are doing, getting in Proteins, Water, Vitamins, exercise and trust the process.

I was a smoker for about 15 yrs and made the decision that if I'm cutting out 85% of my stomach to live a longer, healthier life then I'm cutting out smoking also for the same reason. I quit in August and was sleeved in January. I quit cold turkey and while it was tough I'm so glad I did it. I can breath so much better between quitting smoking and losing weight my lungs thank me! It's hard but try to quit, you will feel so much better and if you need help from a dr for a prescription there's no shame in that! Good luck!

Weird "stuck" feeling going on right now
MrsG replied to rxkid2384's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had that before. I think for me it's drinking too fast. I usually sit up as straight as I can and take a deep breath and it feels like it goes down. That's what works for me.i just have to remind myself not to drink so fast! -
Lol! I would think you were totally hard core! But I could respect that....

I'm glad you said that! I was always under the impression grazing is when you eat outside of your planned meals and Snacks. I didn't even think that it would be considered grazing to stop and finish in a few minutes! I had no idea either but it makes sense if you really think about it. -
Just curious, you had the sleeve almost a year ago now going for a bypass? The kind hey are doing is it the other half like as the duodenal switch? I was approved for that so if I can't get all my weight off or I stop around 6 months they plan on going back in to complete the second half. Just wondering if that's the same thing you are doing? I'm sorry you are having so many problems with the sleeve.

Oh man! It's my weakness!! I love my husband to pieces but he even knows of my obsession with bald guys! It's so hot! I don't know why! Anytime I see a bald guy I can't help it, my eyes are drawn and he will tease me about staring! Lol! And I agree with ima loser you pull it off nicely!

I completely understand. Before surgery I felt like everything was being taken away from me....food...smoking...caffeine! Lol! I quit in August of last year and my surgery was 1/15 and I'm so glad I quit. I didn't want anything to ruin my chances of having surgery. I quit cold turkey right before my birthday and it was tough but so worth it. I'm finding its easier to work out with my weight loss and clear lungs now. I know it's hard so if you need help that's ok. My friend used the gum which was a joke and the e cigarettes which she said made her sick. Maybe try chantix? I've heard some good things about it. Or ask your doctor for help if you find you are feeling desperate. Good luck, its tough but in the end it will be all worth it!
