    Too Much Protein?

I hope you do too hockeymom! The first two days were the roughest, but I've had little to no pain and have felt "normal" since Tuesday. Congratulations on your surgery, I'll remember you in my prayers!
  2. I was sleeved last Friday - 9-21-12, and I went back to work yesterday. I'm feeling great! The first two days were strange, but I had never been under anesthesia and I think that's what the weirdness was. I had some nausea right after my surgery, but was given medicine for that. I've had little to NO pain, and took pain meds only three times in the hospital (I stayed two nights, and rode six hours home on Sunday). I took liquid Tylenol on Monday for a headache, and that's all the pain I've had. I am so happily surprised that this has been such a positive experience for me. Congratulations on your approval, and good luck on your surgery!
  3. I will pray for you. You will be fine! I had mine on Friday the 21st and am already back at work today. A little tired, but handling it just fine! I do know how important the power of prayer is and how it helped me through my surgery.
  4. My surgeon prescribed Reglan to "keep things moving" so I had a BM three days out. That made me feel tremendously better! I've been getting my fluid and protein in since yesterday (my first full day home). I'm like you though, I love water!

    Hungry?

I don't like the apple melon isopure either! It's nasty! I got the isopure vanilla powder from GNC and it's not too bad, not a lot of flavor but I don't mind that. I really like (as much as I can like) the Unjury chicken flavored protein powder. Tonight I'm going to have tomato soup (blended) and add some unflavored protein powder I got from Unjury. We can do this! I got ALL my protein in yesterday and it made a huge difference in the way I've felt today. Soooo, even if I don't like it, I'm going to choke it down! By the way, I'm not big on any of the Isopure premixed flavors. They leave a terrible aftertaste. I do like the powder though.

    Hungry?

I felt the same way - I was sleeved on Sept. 21st. My son picked up some Muscle Milk Lite from GNC (suggested by my surgeon) and that really helped relieve my feelings of hunger. I also like the Unjury Chicken, and the Isopure vanilla blended with ice and water fills me up without all the sweetness. Yesterday was the first day I was able to get all my protein and it made a HUGE difference in the way I feel today. Think I'll go to work tomorrow!

You look so cute! I had my sleeve Sept 21 and can't wait for the weight to start falling off.
  11. Hey all you fifties folks! I had my sleeve on Friday, September 21st. I was in the hospital two nights in Dallas and my son and niece drove me home yesterday - a six hour trip. We stopped every hour and I walked around the parking lots and I made the trip fine. Yesterday I had a little trouble getting my protein in but today I've already got it done! Now I can just focus on my water! I love drinking water anyway and it has been somewhat difficult to get used to the sipping. I am so excited about this whole deal and can't wait to get on "mooshies". The time is going so fast it won't be long. Oh, by the way, I'm down 6 pounds today! It's just getting better! I love this site.

    Anyone Having Surgery On 9/21?

Today is the day! I check in at 12:30 and surgery is at 2:30. I was a wreck yesterday but after meeting with the surgeon I'm feeling calm and ready to get it done. Sure did want a cup of coffee but that will come later. Special prayers to all my sister sleeves!! And brother sleevers too.

    Anyone Having Surgery On 9/21?

I'm having my surgery on the 21st, the day after my 56th birthday! I'm having to drive to Dallas which is about six hours from my home but my son and niece are going with me. I'm not required to be on a liquid diet pre op. I go from feeling anxious and scared to calm and relaxed. I know this is the right thing to do, and I'm so ready to get this weight off once and for all.

    One Week!

Mine is the 21st in Dallas with Dr. Dirk Rodriguez. I'm starting to get a little nervous, but mainly about the post op stuff. I'm just ready to be slim!

    Did It! Done It!

Congratulations! I'm glad that part is over for you. One week from tomorrow I'll be going in for mine. It seems unreal right now, but I'm starting to get nervous. I can't wait for this all to be over and am so excited about starting my new, thin life!

    Where are the 50s ???

Hello all! I am scheduled for surgery in Dallas on September 21st, the day after my 56th birthday! This forum is great, and it's comforting to see that most of you all have come through the surgery with flying colors. I've never had any anesthesia for anything (even my wisdom teeth extractions), so that was a big concern. I would like to lose 120 pounds, and that would make me thinner than I've been in 30 years. I will be driving with my children to Dallas, which is about 5 hours from where I live, so that's another concern. However, my doctor has told me I will more than likely be released the day after surgery and will be cleared to go home, as long as I stop every hour or so and walk for a few minutes. Anyone else have to ride that far that soon?
  18. Hi All! I'm 55 right now and will be having my surgery the day after my birthday, September 21st. I'm so excited and nervous, and really really happy I found this forum! I felt like I was the oldest one on the whole site! I've never had any kind of surgery either, but the closer it gets the more calm I become. It's exciting to think about what I will be doing this time next year, when I turn 57 and hopefully am 100 pounds or more thinner!
  19. Hi everyone! I'm not sure I'm doing this right, but here goes. I'm scheduled to have my sleeve on September 21st, the day after my 56th birthday! I'm a little anxious, and occasionally think about everything that COULD go wrong, but I know that this is a new beginning for me. I have struggled all my life with my weight, and have been at least 100 pounds over weight for the last 25 years. I have never had any kind of anesthesia, even when I got my wisdom teeth removed, so I'm a little apprehensive about the whole surgery thing. My surgeon told me I would stay overnight in the hospital and get to go home the day after. So.....how was everyone's recovery post surgery?
  20. Thanks for your responses! I am so very excited for what this year holds. I keep thinking that this time next year I should be down close to my target weight!

    Any September People

I found out Friday that my surgery is scheduled September 21st - the day after my 56th birthday! I'm so excited, but apprehensive too. I feel like an old geezer here after seeing how young most everybody else is here! But, I'm ready to start my new, healthy, slim life. I've been overweight for so long, and I'm just tired of it!
