  1. From someone on the journey, post-op, it's very natural to stress, have anxiety, freak out, be nervous, etc... IT'S PERFECTLY NORMAL!!!! You are about to make one of the biggest decisions of your life. This is not to be taken lightly. We who have already been through it completely understand. We are here for you, in good times & bad. Take a deep breath, relax & ask any questions you seem fit. Best of luck on your journey. I will keep you in my thoughts & prayers.
  2. They say an avg of 2.5 lbs/week but I would imagine that differs for each individual.
  3. Great question, one I have asked myself on several occasions.... The answer for me, after some much needed self reflection, was fear. Fear of how people would react, what they would say and I needed to keep a positive outlook. After surgery, when I finally decided to start telling people, I figured, well, not much they can do about it now, done did it! I find that most of the people I've told have been very supportive. Those who aren't, really don't have a place in my life anymore.
  4. 6 weeks out & got the clear from my Dr to resume a normal diet, in moderation, of what my stomach will tolerate.

  9. Well, as you know, we're all different. In my situation, I had no problems. I had my surgery on a Tuesday, in Mexico & was back to work the following Monday. (I know, others aren't as fortunate) As far as the move, no heavy lifting for 6 weeks. I wish you the best & will be thinking of you.
  10. Welcome & Congrats on your journey to a happier, healthier life. If you have any questions along the way, you know we are all here for you.

    7Weeks Out!

6 weeks out & Dr said I could return to a normal diet, just in moderation. For desert I like to take a vanilla protein shake, 2 scoops fat free vanilla bean ice cream, 1/2 banana & blend into shake. It's oh so yummy!!!
  18. Better to have rumbling than pass gas...lol
  19. I'll take all the compliments I can get... I'm 47 years old & it took me over 10 years to make this decision. I know I was fat & I didn't even like looking at myself in a mirror anymore. I wasn't comfortable with myself being fat & believe me...I heard plenty of comments & lectures from family, friends, Dr's & strangers. I used to have a comeback for all the comments. (My little way of dealing is by making it funny, even though I was sad inside). Now that I'm losing the weight & feeling better about myself & the way I look.....bring it on!!!! I'll take any compliment I can get

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Southcoastliving- congrats on your 25 lbs. I was sleeved on 9/4. Sounds like we're averaging around the same weight loss. I'm not a vegetarian but have decided to try and incorporate veggie burgers into my diet. I was a vegetarian about 20 years ago but wasn't getting enough nutrients so my Dr told me I needed to eat chicken, fish & turkey. I still try to stay away from red meat if at all possible. Keep me updated in your WLS journey.

Does Anyone Else Eat As Much As Me?

Personally, sounds ok to me...given you are getting all your nutrients & exercise in. All of us are different. I am also 1 day out from 6 weeks post op. I have been able to eat just about anything I want but in moderation. I figure as long as I'm losing weight or inches, the Dr cleared me for resuming a normal diet.
