    How Bad Was It?

Pinky, how far out are you? Is the exercise giving you more energy? I have not been feeling well last couple days, not sure if it's lack of exercise or not enough fluids. I feel like I'm in a vicious cycle.
  7. I went to Mexico & my family physician is doing my follow ups (ie: bloodwork, b-12 shots, etc)
  8. I know for myself personally, I like when people notice I've lost weight. I'll take all the compliments I can get.

    Back To Work

Kristi- you are not a whimp. Some people need more time off than others. It really depends on how well you're doing in the recovery process & what type of a job you have.

    My Journey Is Starting

Good luck Pepper Paul...please remember, every individual is different. We all recover differently, lose differently. There are patients with good outcomes & some with bad. I'm sure Iggychik was one of the unfortunate & I hope she will get better soon. However, with that said...I'm sure the medical center has done 100's, if not 1000's of bariatric surgeries. I was told by my team of Dr's that there is a 92% success rate & 8% non...I knew what I was getting into & decided it would be worth it for me, even if I fell into the 8% bracket. For me, it was worth risking it all. I will keep you in my thoughts & prayers.
  13. AMEN!!! So tired of people who know nothing about this surgery thinking it's an easy fix...I think it takes a strong person to make the decision to do WLS. It's a tool we have been gifted & it's up to us to make the life long commitment to use it.
  14. I am 6 weeks out & was given the ok to proceed with a normal diet, in moderation, what my tummy can tolerate. So far, as long as I don't drink anything 30 min prior or 30 min after I eat I'm ok. Just chew really well & introduce foods slowly.

    Forgive Me

OTR...I hear ya & let me just say constipation is NOT FUN!!!
  16. I'm also 6 weeks post op & I have drastically slowed. I hit a stall at 3 weeks that lasted for 2 weeks, broke the stall, lost another 3 pounds & BOOM, right back into another stall!!!!
  17. Congrats on the 17 lbs!!!!! Sounds like you're doing something right I only wish I had a stomach that would tolerate moe foods
  18. Pdx- question??? I am 6 weeks out..I stalled at week 3, which lasted 2 weeks. My stall broke & I lost another 3 lbs & went back into another stall... Is that normal? I read you should have a stall around 3 weeks, 3 mos, 6 mos & 9 mos. I hope this doesn't happen more often for me.
  19. I was hoping some of it would tighten up with exercise. I hate having jiggly skin....Ewww!!!
  20. They obviously aren't well educated on WLS. If so, they would know this is only a tool & that you have to be anything but lazy to succeed. Maybe I would make a couple handouts just so they know what someone has to go through when they have WLS.

    Advice Wanted

Well, from what I have been told by a few of my friends who. Have had lap band revision....the lap band can erode (happened with 2 of my friends), slip (happened with my other friend) & they said wish they would have went with VSG to begin with. One of my friends had to have the lap band removed first & wait for 3 months for the VSG. My other friend was able to have the revision same day & my 3rd friend has to have her lap band removed. That is why I decided to go with the VSG right off the get go. Do lots of research before you make your decision.

    How Bad Was It?

Well, as you know, everyone is different. I had no pain, only a little discomfort, after surgery. Went in on a Tuesday, up walking around that evening, walking & drinking next day. Third day drain tube out & went home Friday. I was back to work on Monday & have felt pretty good since. I am now 6 weeks post-op & according to Dr I am right where I should be. I know others aren't so fortunate but that's my input.
