Oops..... I meant the old percentage relating to a 'bigger' sleeve.

Thanks sue, kelli and Aussiegirl for your feedback. It is hard to get goal weight info from both my surgeon and dietician ... I think there might be a conspiracy between them!!! Sounds right about the old percentage being related to a smaller sleeve. I'll just remain quietly optimistic that I will get into the sixties. Oh and I too must up the exercise. Good luck with the surgeon today misty. Kate

Hi sue, just reading about your stats and have to say you have done remarkably well and must be feeling so good about yourself. I was wondering whether your current weight is close to your initial goal. My surgeon has never talked about goal weights and the dietician just talks about losing about 60% of my excess weight. I am a year older than you and 170 cms tall and started out at 109.9 kgs. I have my own goal at present of 72 kgs. Reading your stats I am thinking maybe I could get lower, say to 68 kgs. I have lost about 21 kgs now and sitting on 88.5 kgs. That's about 50% of my excess and I would be disappointed to think this is almost it. given we are similar starting stats was just wondering how you determined your goal. Thank you, Kate.

Thanks for your support sue and dean. I am lucky to have 5 days off over Easter so have been quite relaxed. Have lots of school work to do but have planned that for tomorrow and haven't thought too much about it this weekend. Certainly not complaining about it this weekend as I have lots of time to do it. Had Easter lunch with family and tried whatever I wanted but extra small portions. My lovely brother and sister in law kept telling me how well I looked. I haven't seen them for a few weeks. They don't know about the op and i did feel a little guilty keeping it to myself.

Thanks Deano, What you say certainly makes sense. The dietician discouraged counting calories as she said that by doing that it makes it seem like a diet. As long as I get my 60 gms of Protein in I should be ok. That said I haven't been eating fruit so will try and add that. I noticed Lissa saying she as upped her vegetable/salad intake so will try to do he same. Your third point hit the nail on the head. I know am an emotional eater and thinking about it I really do miss eating away my tiredness, stress, happiness, etc. Work has been really busy and stressful lately so maybe there is a connection. I am a teacher and have a principal that micro manages everyone and everything. Have been working 10 hour days (7am - 5pm) and then an extra hour or two each night at home. The crazy part is about half of the stuff we have to do is irrelevant. The latest task we have is to work with a colleague as a type of coach to each other. We have to start meeting weekly for a minimum of 2 hours. What the? One poweball... Kate

Hi to everyone, I have been reading all your posts and they are very motivational. I am 10 weeks post op and have lost almost 18 kgs including my two weeks pre op diet. I am so thrilled about the weight loss, and have had no real problems with surgery or recovery but for the last few weeks have felt really 'flat'. Just wondering whether others have experienced the same? I feel a teary a lot and just don't know what's wrong. Saw my dietician earlier this week and all good with the foods I am eating. Any advice would be welcome. Kate

Hello everyone, have been losing slowly but surely. Weigh in day today and 1.6 kgs loss this week which I'm really happy with. Puppyphat you look fabulous and good luck with your new job. Also Lissa great to see you ar embracing change in different areas of your life. I have just lost around 16 kgs so far and the difference to my life is there already. It's 16 kgs I wouldn't have lost and realistically I would have put on a few more in the last 10 weeks. One-Elle, I am sorry to hear your plans have been messed up but so have to agree with the others, you have to be comfortable with and have every faith in your surgeon. You have done the best thing for you. Don't be disheartened, after you have done your research and see another doc then you are in a better position to make the decision that is right for you. Cheers, Kate

Mini me, good luck for this Thursday. Of course everyone is different and you will be more tired afterwards, but if you just prioritize yourself everything else will fall into place. I think you are making a great decision at your age, so many of us have battled with our weight for decades before making the decision.

I have scales in my bathroom and I seem obsessed by getting on them every day. I think you are very strong Lila to not have them in the house. Aussiegirl, good to hear your ankle has mended. I am six weeks post op and one of my favorite meals is a scrambled egg and a small spoon of baked Beans. I have just discovered Coles brand Organic baked beans and really love them. Haven't had any problems with the egg so far. It's interesting to see how everyone has different tolerances to food after this op.
