I know I've already commented. I saw the two new pictures you posted. Don't you just feel AMAZING? Aren't you truly proud of your success? I don't even know you, but I would hug you and tell you that I'm proud of you!
I have my surgery on the 20th. You are a huge inspiration to me to make it through this liquid diet. It's not horrible, but I've had my moments.
Thank you for posting!

I am doing the same thing, Justine. No one has asked, though. Since I work for a local government, they know that they can't ask due to the privacy laws. No one has noticed the liquid diet as of yet. I'm day four.
Hang in there and stay tough.

Take it nice and easy. Pneumonia is no picnic! Home is the best place, isn't it? Glad you are feeling better!

I know things can get confusing at times. It can be pretty overwhelming. And...no question is dumb if you don't have the answer to it!
Again, I haven't had my surgery (am in the liquid diet stage) yet but my doc said that I can have a low-fat chicken broth. I chose low sodium, too. Store brand is fine. If you make your own, just watch the fat content you use (and remove) while cooking it. I'm only allowed 1 a day because he wants us to be as close to 800 calories as possible. The chicken broth is a nice change of pace from the sweet stuff (I am not a sweet fan).
I will be on liquid and full liquids for 6 weeks post-op.
I hope this helps just a little.

OH NO!!!!! I'm so sorry!
I haven't had surgery yet. I was afraid I would do that as well! When you're thirsty (I know it's a learned process, but still.....) you take a drink. I have been practicing sipping. I get it right about 1/2 of the time! At least it was Water and not coffee.
I am NOT a fan of throwing up......
A hard lesson learned. I hope I learn it, too!

YAY YOU!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!

If that is a side effect of the sleeve surgery, I want two surgeries! I turned gray when I was 21. It would be wonderful to be an awesome auburn again!
Either way, it's all good. I just want off my meds. If I get a bonus hair color change in the process, I won't complain!!!

Hi! You should be drinking Meal Replacement Protein shakes. I use GNC Lean shake 25. I am allowed 4 a day. They have 200 calories each and 25 grams of Protein. It is important to have the Meal Replacement Protein Shakes because of the additional nutrients in it.
I hope this helps a little bit for you. Good luck!

Hi there! My doctor does require a 2 week liquid diet. He requires Meal Replacement shakes up to 800 calories. My shakes have 25 grams of Protein each in them and 200 calories each. I am allowed 4. You can drink all the sugar-free drinks you want (Crystal Light, Water, coffee (artificial sweetener and no cream), sugar-free Jello and sugar free popsicles.
I just started my liquid diet on Thursday. It's been going pretty well, for the most part. I just always have a drink next to me and drinking constantly.
I hope this helps a little. Good luck!

Hi Everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday. It's nice and cool here in Texas with a temperature of 71°.
Before I started my liquied pre-op diet, I was afraid of getting my infamous hunger headaches which turn into Migraines 9 out of 10 times. I have not had 1 headache! With only 800 calories a day, I was afraid.
Switching over to the GNC Lean shake 25 has made a huge difference. It actually fills me up! I'm down a total of 8 lbs since I started on Thursday.

I don't think it's strange. I went through my anxiety a couple of weeks ago. Now that I'm 12 days away from surgery, I'm actually pretty psyched about it. I'm mentally prepared and getting more and more excited.
I hope you do well!!

My surgeon, Dr. Kim, requires 2 weeks of liquid diet. The Protein shakes must be Meal Replacement. I am using GNC Lean shake 25. Dr. Kim has me on an 800 calorie diet. I am allowed to have sugar-free popsicles, Chrystal Light, Jello, one serving of low fat-low sodium chicken broth a day. All that goes in my mouth must be sugar-free.
I'm finishing day 3 tonight. I lost 7 lbs. Mostly Water weight, I'm sure.
Good luck!

Yes. Tylenol only. Asprin, Aleve, Ibuprophen, etc. thin your blood and could cause bleeding. I get pain in my back when on my feet too long. Yesterday and today have been pretty hard. One dose of Tylenol has helped significantly (and getting off my feet). Try heating pad/ice with Tylenol. Not as good as pain pills, I know, but it helps. Good luck!

Good question! I went to look up low carb lentil recipes on google. This one struck me as sounding good.

My surgeon requires it. I started Thursday. It's going pretty well. It was bumpy the first day but it's smooth sailing now.

I cannot wait to get to that point!
