It's more shopping anxiety for me, not that I use my weight as "a suit of armor." I just don;t want to try something on and have it not fit. In my head, that means I failed. Yes, I know I am WAY over-thinking it. It's just a matter of my mind adjusting to my new body. I need to give myself some time.

Yes, it's possible. I did not/have not.

I understand and can relate to your fear. I went through it myself. My only regret is that I did not have the surgery years ago. Look at it this way, you will be gaining a longer, healthier life after surgery. Best of luck to you and I promise it is worth it.

Now that I am losing weight on a regular and steady basis, I find that going shopping for clothes causes me stress. I know what you are thinking, I should be happy about it. I am, but ... trying on smaller sizes and not having them fit me is my fear. I don't want to have any setbacks. I know this is probably irrational, but I get so stressed when I try on clothes that I don't try on the proper size and settle for things that are a size or 2 bigger then I should wear.
It's a mental struggle that I am still adjusting to. Does this make sense or am I on psycho island by myself?

DOS: 8/1/12
Weight was 297 - day of surgery 283 - last time I weighed myself I was 241. I weigh myself every 3-4 weeks. I like to be surprised at the amount I lost so I don't weight weekly.

Mine fell off around week 3-4.

Thank you all. I have been missing salads a lot and am anxious to dig in. So far, I've had no problems with anything I have eaten. I am hopeful the trend continues.

I also cook for my husband all the time. Sometimes, the food smells and looks so good that I indulge myself 1 spoonful to satisfy my curiosity. It's not like I am eating a platter of food (like I used to) so I don't feel bad with having just a taste.

I have heard from several people that you can't digest raw vegetables after gastric surgery like you used to. I am hoping that does not apply to Sleevers. Does anyone know for sure?

My surgery was August 1st. I was 297 prior to surgery and 283 the day of. I am nearly 2 months post op and have been living off of 1/2 cup of low fat refried black Beans and Danon Greek yogurt. I do cook meals for my husband and I indulge myself to 1 spoonful of a taste and it satisfies me. My 2 month is 10/1 and I am looking forward to being able to eat real food instead of soft stuff.

I had my Sleeve on August 1st and and happy with the results thus far. I have no regrets and my main goal is to live long enough to Celebrate being married for 50 years (10 down and 40 to go). I truly believe this surgery is what will make my goal a reality.

My surgery was August 1st. Have lost over 40 lbs so far. Pre-op weight: 297. DOS: 283. I don't weigh myself often because I am used to avoiding scales. I have my 2-month post-op meeting on October 1st. Been on soft Proteins and looking forward to eating more solid food.< /p>
