That's wonderful!! You look great!! I look forward to non longer living life from the sidelines. There are so many things I dread doing because of my weight.... pools, beaches, amusement parka, flying, concerts with tight seating. Thanks for the tips on the pictures.... I hate taking pics so I know I don't have nearly as many as I should!
Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing your story and pics with me! Very motivating!

Thank you for posting this question - I will be getting sleeved 300+ pounds and wondered about any success stories out there. There is a 100+ and 200+ weight to lose board somewhere on here, but they are not very active. I hope we can hear from some higher BMI sleevers - I feel like I mostly see "low" BMI starting weights on here.

shopping and having your needed items at home is a GREAT idea!
have a heating pad at home and waiting for you
have SONIC ice (little pellet ice), it's so great to have as your ice chips at home
have lot's of stuff to watch on TV, DVR.. or search the web
have comfy pillows for lying on your side (if you are a side sleeper)
    cut down caffeine
I just had surgery last Thursday and came home Saturday and these are my words of wisdom so far

mel14 reacted to SerendipityHappens in Be honest - does anyone regret the surgery?
Yes there are people on this forum who regret the surgery, but I'm not one of them! Best thing I ever did.. If I was able to be successful with diet and exercise alone then I wouldn't have ever gotten up to 360 pounds in the first place. The way I feel about it is our stomachs are not MADE for eating three square meals a day plus a few Snacks here and there.... An unsleeved stomach is the size of a FOOTBALL ya know so you can fill up and then not eat for a few days.. Do I really need a stomach the size of a FOOTBALL in a culture where you eat three times a day?????
Been sleeved for three and a half months now and it's going great. I can eat anything I want but choose not to most of the time. The portions are satisfying and I'm losing weight albeit a bit slower than many other sleevers.

I'm so thrilled! The scale finally moved this week and now i'm under 300 pounds. As someone who used to yoyo diet i'm confident that this is the last time i'll ever be this high. So happy and motivated!

One of the BEST things I had while on the pureed phase was literally pureed filet mignon. I went to Longhorn and got a petite filet medium rare, brought it home and put it in the food processor with a little beef broth and pureed it down to the consistency of loose pâté. Oh my goodness it was heaven and high in Protein.

Another yummy thing I did at this stage was to take ricotta cheese and mix in the preshredded Italian blend cheeses, an egg and salt and pepper and baked it in mini ramekins. I then topped it off with a little marinara sauce.

Take the time with each phase to explore healthy options and try new things. Your tastes will change. Start your healthy new life from the beginning of this amazing journey. There are great options at every phase but choose the healthier ones. I know a lot of people use mashed potatoes on the pureed phase but for me, if it had no Protein, I did not include it. Follow your plan but you can be creative within the guidelines. Eat to live rather than live to eat.

I see alot of people eat scrambled eggs on the puree stage. Do they have to be put in the blender or can we just chew the heck out of it?
I don't start this stage until next week bt am trying to get prepared because to be honest I can't imagine blending meats and things! Seems icky!
Also the Ricotta Bake that has been posted.....does that need to go into a blender once baked?
Please put any recipes you enjoyed during this stage! Thanks in advance!

Hi!! I am 7 days PO and I too have this pressure. I had my first OP doctors appointment today and my surgeon says that it is very normal. It is gas from the operation and also just regular gas that used to be in the part of the stomach that is now removed and the body doesn't know what to do with the gas ( the body don't know to expel it) so it just sits there creating pressure. I find that walking helps and after I can burp it out. Hope this helps

I had about 1/2 of the salad and 1/2 of the steak (3 oz). No wine, bread or croutons. I took home the leftovers and enjoyed it the next night. My "salad" these days is about a 1/2 cup of lettuce.

This is normal don't panic, you prob won't be able to get your full requirements of Fluid or Protein in until you are on full foods. Just remember to try your best with the fluids because you don't want to become dehydrated. You will also probably be a little weak until you can get your Proteins in which is also normal.

After surgery, the opening into the stomach and the stomach itself is very narrow because of swelling (about as narrow as pen or straw) making drinking and eating very difficult. As time goes on and the swelling subsides, it gets easier.

I wasn't nauseas and had minimal pain. The hardest part was laying down and sitting up. The thing I wish I had known is what the anesthesia and low calories were going to do to my brain. I was stupid for a good month after surgery.

But the quiches are simple...6 eggs, I used 4 oz of ham, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup non fat cheese..best together and fill mini muffin pans...bake 350 for 30 mins...I am not allowed any veggies yet but she has many variations including veggies..pizza style, mexican style, etc

That's very common. I read somewhere that hormones get trapped in fat and as you lost the fat, the hormones get released. My cycle is all messed up. Some times I get it every other week, every two weeks, 1x a month, for 10 days, for 15 days etc.... it's all over the place. I'm on the nuva ring and am supposed to be able to stop my cycle at will, but that idea has gone out the window! On the bright side this means your losing fat. Yay, go you!

There are carb smart tortillas by Mission that are a great replacement for bread. I too was really wanting a sandwich so I put some tuna on the carb smart tortilla and tried it. I found that I was used to having tuna without the bread and preferred it alone. Best of luck!

I eat deconstructed sandwiches also. I just don't want the extra calories and carbs of bread. Also I was told by my nut that some folks have issues with bread becoming a ball of dough causing pain in the sleeve. I don't want to even find out if I am one of those people.
