I'm 3 months post op. and I didn't exercise or anything, cause I didn't have any time... but the weight just kept going down and was so happy....I have 2 girls who are a handful.... so a week go school started and I have a few hours to myself in the early morning, so I thought why not boost my weight decrease and exercise every morning... so I started 2 days ago....walked or should I say marched. for an hour.... and today I get on the scale and I gained 2 lbs.!!!! is this for real???? Sitting around like a bum all day makes me lose about 50 lbs and when I start doing the right thing and exercising, I start gaining!!!! WTF?????

  5. Hey Raven.... My parents & whole family were one of those people who thought this operation was the easy way out.... and God knows how many days I spent trying to convince them...why... cause my dad was paying for it :(...... they don't know how it is to spend 30 years struggling with weight & moving from one doctor to another & one diet to another... they don't know that food is an addiction as well as drugs & alcohol.... and I am sad to say I was a food addict.... can they imagine someone who can't stop eating for 24 hours.... who is blindly led to the fridge and couldn't help it... so when I started choking in my sleep many times, and had an almost stroke... I just had to stop and think..... I'm going to die soon and my kids will grow up without a mom.... so I had to do this and I fought for it..... I didn't have the money or the support but I struggled and in the end, I didn't get any support from anybody, but at least I got the money :)))


  6. That's normal...I went through that phase too.... I drank Water more than I could eat, and didn't eat much to make room for more water... I was always thirsty... I also felt disgusted with my mouth.... my teeth felt like they were coated with something sticky, and I needed to chew something, and I did wash my teeth every 10 minutes.... I guess all that went away when I started my puree stage.... somewhile after that, I was talking about this with my mom, and she told me,, why didn't u just chew some gum.....stupid me :)


  7. I will definitely not miss these things:

    1- Having a foul smell in some places due to friction, and actually living in the shower.

    2- Choking in my sleep... really scary.

    3- Feeling sorry for myself when I discover that I just ate a meal enough for 5 people, but I just can't help it anyway.

    4- Not being able to get a swimsuit to play in the pool with my kids...

    5- Chair fright....


  8. I'm a sucker for coffee..... and whenever I'm out, I always look for a place to get coffee, I usually make it simple, fat free latte, they usually have different kinds of sugar packets..... I use the diet packet, if it's not available then it's half a packet of ordinary sugar..... u do need ur energy :)....At home, I use Uni fructose... I don't like the taste of Splenda..... fructose is fruit sugar, 1 teaspoon = 16 calories, I take 2 a day.....my doctor told me it's ok to take 2 teaspoons of regular sugar daily, but I like to play it safe..... Also sometimes when I haven't eaten enough throughout the day, I treat myself to an ice cold frappucino.... remember, ur not on a strict diet... ur just eating less..... a hell lot lesser......I always remind myself of that, cause strict diets is what got me here in the first place.... they don't work with me, I always cheated and felt depressed and sad, so I ate more instead.... I have issues with being restricted.... so now I feel comfortable because I Rule.... I choose what to eat, not a piece of paper..., and I know I'm making the right choices, and if I sometimes didn't, it's only a few bites anyway :)


  9. Hey hany... From egy also...who's ur doctor??? Been sleeved for 2+ months now... Need help... I'm on vacation now in sokhna... I swim in the pool and the sea too... I'm always hungry...eat lots of mini sandwiches all day.. But when trying to eat a regular meal i couldn't.... meat & chicken are the worst.... Is that normal or is it the sea air thats making me hungry...

Thx teady bear for ur answer..actually losing weight slowly is most recommended but u know its reliefing to find someone have the same concerns...as for the protien shakes i was not advised by my surgeon..he gave me 1 month liquid diet which doesnot have any protiens..i found Isopure in sief pharmacy its 0 carbs and fats

    Well, I'm past that stage....I'm struggling with food these days.... trying to find something that my stomach can handle, and is healthy.... it's not easy... But my liquid phase was for 2 weeks only, then 1 week soft foods, and that was the hardest phase for me....


  11. Hii guys..am from Egypt..2 weeks post op..only 5 kilos down is that normal?

    It differs from one person to another.... I'm 2 months post op. and I lost about 18 k (40 lbs).,,, everyone around me says ur weight loss is slow, I guess they were expecting me to shrink instantly :D, and I was so depressed, but I've just been to my doctor for check up and he told me I'm doing great, and to stop listening to what people say, because frankly, they are ignorant about this whole thing....I was actually satisfied :)
