  1. No. If you look at the data, very very very few people lose too much weight. I suspect that is generally associated with bad complications like strictures etc.

I was worried about not losing enough, but I am very pleased with where I am at - even though I want to lose more.

What am I scared of? Maintenance - but, one day at a time.

I agree with u.... I've learned from this site and other GS sites that only few people break their goal weight and lose beyond it... and also not everybody reaches their goal weight easily.... so I wouldn't be unhappy at all if lost too much weight... it's always welcome... I also don't care about the fact of having loose skin.... I was on the verge of dying from obesity when I had this surgery, so all I care is being able to move without pain and look good!!

  2. Since the weather is turning real cold, my hunger pangs are increasing, and I'm getting hungry a lot.... I've always felt the cold weather more than others, cause I've been anemic all my life, and now I'm always freezing and hungry since the weather started getting chilly, although people around me keep saying the weather's fine.... Anybody else experiencing this, and how do u deal with the rapid hunger???

  3. I'm 5 months post op, lost 64 pounds, and ever since I had the operation I've noticed 2 types of people.. People who are rude, and tell u, oh... I THINK you lost a few pounds, but ur process is slowwww!!! The other type are people who just ignore it, while you are dying for a comment on how you look, and I'm not that blind... I have a mirror and it's telling me I look way better.... Right now I'm getting almost the same remark... you have lost weight RELATIVELY.... which means for the people who know you, you look good, for those who haven't seen u before, you look like crap!!!!! I actually was on the verge of a breakdown but I met with my doctor,. and he told me to just IGNORE everybody, cause you are doing great, great progress.... So I'm doing just that,,, I don't wait for anybody's comments anymore, cause I got my scale, my mirror, and my loose clothes to tell me I'm doing great :) and if anybody ever makes a comment about my weight loss, I just nod in satisfaction :))))

  4. I actually can't tell the difference between head hunger & real hunger, until I try to eat something.... if it's head hunger, I can tell from the first bite that I wasn't hungry.... still some stuff triggers my hunger, like being bored or having nothing to do.... just have to keep myself busy all day and not think about heading for the fridge... it's a challenge

  5. Don't worry about what you have done just keep pushing forward. If you dwell on the errors it can hinder the progress. I craved pizza for the longest time and yes I did finally give in and indulge but my sleeve helped keep the amount under control. I do the best that I can with the tools that I have been given but I am human and not always able to say no to my cravings. Best of luck to you.

Btw I wondered about the milk also, my dr says none and I have noticed that it doesn't taste right or good for that matter anymore. Have you noticed that?

everything tasted different at first... then as the months go by, it turns back to normal again

  6. Teddy Bear...Are you allowed to have liquids with your foods? I know all Doctors are different, but mine says no liquids a half hour before or after food. I am asking because I see you put milk in your Cereal. I am not judging at all!! Just asking.

I actually didn't think about it... I didn't count that meal as liquid with food... it didn't bother me though, it just made me full faster....and it's bran on skimmed milk, so why not.....

  7. I went to McDonalds with my kids last week.... I was looking forward to this, and told myself I would only order a small mcchicken sandwich or some nuggets..... and maybe coffee... when my sandwich came, a relatively small chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes & mayo... I took 2 bites and that was it.... I gotten disgusted all of a sudden and gave it to my husband to finish.... I guess the filling was too much for my stomach to handle.... I did have coffee though :)).... It's ironic cause before my sleeve, I would get a double Big & tasty burger, extra large fries, a gigantic coke, and I would still have room for a sundae after that!!!!!!!!! God bless my sleeve...

  8. This thread made me concerned about some of the stuff I'm eating.... like Special K cereal or the bran one.. I eat it with skimmed milk.. one cup per meal, that's all I can take.... is that ok???? Also my sis got me Atkins bars.... caramel chocolate mousse... I read the dietary info on the packet carefully....I know it's not real chocolate or caramel, I see no harm in it every once in a while.....

  9. I'm 3 months out and today I was feeling a lot Hungary then usual is this normal? Did my sleeve grow larger? I would feel full not over eating but full (satisfied) about 30 minutes later I'm Hungary again.what to do?

I'm sure it's a bit different for everybody, but for me, I get hungry but a small meal satisfies me for 3 hours or so.

I'm also 3 months post op... and I had the same feeling, and I ate some bad choices.... I don't know what happened, but suddenly I could eat more and a lot.... but people told me it would pass.... u just have to wait it out, but make right choices of food.... and to be exact it also happens during my period....

  10. coffee is an addiction..... it was the first thing I thought about after the surgery.... will I be able to drink it..... I tried but it tasted awful.... and I couldn't go through my days without caffeine.... so now, 3 months post op, I can drink half a mug.... looked for skimmed powdered milk, and found it.... for protein.... it's better than Creamer of course.... doesn't taste wonderful but it will do....

  11. I really don't know what it was yesterday....but it happens once or twice a month.... guess near PMS.... but I'm back to normal today.... but I'm gonna try to focus on Protein from now on.... I got a problem with getting chicken & meat down.... but I focused more on milk, cheese & eggs..... snacked on dates.... the crunchy ones, don't know if you have these..... I always drink coffee with skimmed powder milk & fructose instead of sugar....hate splenda.... cook my food with olive oil only.... I hope I get back on track.... I don't mind stalling, cause it happened before, but I get terrified of weight gain....

  12. I'm sorry to hear about friend.... I suffered from sleep apnea before my surgery....it's actually one of the reasons I decided to have the surgery..... It freaked me out..... Multiple times, I choke during my sleep and my husband wakes me up, or during dreaming, I'm out of breath and I have to force myself to wake up to get air... other times when I'm dozing off, I can feel my breath slipping away from me as I fall asleep..... u can't imagine how terrifying that was for me..... I was afraid to go to sleep and when I did, I put 4 or 5 pillows under my head, so I wouldn't choke to death.....I can't tell u how relieved I am when all that went away after I lost some of the weight.....good luck everyone...

  13. Thanks all for the great support.... and yes I will have to force myself back on track.... I feel better now...... I actually ate Pasta as an experiment today... I usually don't eat it anymore after my sleeve cause it comes right back up... but today it didn't.... maybe because I was extra hungry.... I don't know if it's the weather getting a bit chilly where I live ( and I tend to get really hungry when I'm cold.... one of my problems).... and i do have some days when I can't get in half my meal.... I hope it's something that'll pass...

  14. I posted before that I lost 50 pounds and then these past 2 weeks I gained 2 pounds....no change in diet.... I waited for that to change, but it's stalling for the 3rd week now..... I'm 3 months post op today... and I woke up with a strange feeling....very hungry.....ate a lot today as before the operation..... I'm getting hungry every 2 hours..... I just ate a whole plate of Pasta, which if were a month ago I would have vomited instantly....I was actually waiting to see if I'm going to throw it up again, but I didn't....Oh God!!! I'm actually in tears right now.... don't know what to do :(((.... I'm actually playing this horrible scenario in my head over & over... that I'm going to gain all that weight back again...I was so happy with myself and kept bragging about my surgery & weight loss to people I knew and also to complete strangers..... I wish I hadn't done that... I jinxed myself.... I am so miserable right now.....has this happened to anybody???
