still struggling to get in protein after 3 mths
FeeIsMe2 replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too couldn't even look at the shakes post surgery, my dr recommend protein bars. I have a pure protein bar (20 grams of protein and 180 calories) for breakfast every morning. Maybe they are worth a try... -
Holy moly you look awesome and 20 years younger!

Has anyone had a irregular period before surgery and now after the surgery you're period doesnt seem to stop?
FeeIsMe2 replied to blkdiamond377's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before surgery I had terrible heavy irregular periods lasting 14 -21 days. I too had to have a endometrial biopsy, which came back normal. My GYN said that it was all weight related and after losing my first 50 lbs, they became more normal. Now after 100lbs loss I have a normal 28 day cycle, and periods lasting 6-7 days. I was told that estrogen gets stored in fat and that can cause all these issues. -
I can't eat and drink at the same time, I forgot once and drank right while eating and got a terrible, gas/pressure/pain. Never again!

more protein shakes to get to goal?
FeeIsMe2 replied to lilac lass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a protein bar (20 grams) for breakfast everyday, then eat regular food for the rest of the day. If the shakes work for you, then try replacing breakfast or lunch with a protein shake and see how you feel. -

Congrats & good luck! -
Honestly, I think the first week is the hardest -- you are still aching and sore, your food choices are so limited which make you question your decision. Give it some time and remember this is a positive life choice. I can say my decision to be sleeved was one of the best things I have ever done for myself.
