Anyone under 180lbs and getting sleeves?
I have recently started to feel a bit guilty about getting sleeved for being overweight but not obese.
I have other medical issues that have helped me make the decison to get sleeved, but I am curious
to see if there is anyone else in the same boat.

I had a revision frm band to sleeve @178. Im about 4 weeks out and doing really good! I dont weight my self@ home only when I go to d Dr. and in d first two weeks I lost 18lbs.. I didnt have a pre op diet i only did liquids from 12 midnight before surgery. My diet is a little diff. than others,full liquid out of hospital and I was aloud to drink gatorade, v8 so he wasent to stricked about d sugar free drinks. Ill be 4 weeks Tomorrow and today I tries Some chicken not blended but very good chewed. I almost never blended anything cause im use to chewing very well cause of my hand. He wants me to eat a little more cause my bmi is already @25.I lost 140 on d band and it slipped and I had a liquid removed for 2 months and gain 20 lbs. so d Dr. recomended me d sleeve to help me lose d rest and he said that d sleeve will help me maintain:) d one thing i was worried about was losing too much but d Dr. said that my body will know when to stop and there is ways to gain Some back If I need to....sorry for d Long story.lol

Vsginnj- what have to realize is to each his own- if he/ she is ok with eating TWO ice cream sandwiches - then that's his/her life- this is not your battle or concern - just take care of yourself. And please don't let these ppl upset you... I just look at it n be like Wow... Really? Then move on!

If we're confessing... I went to the Olive Garden with my pregnant wife for the never ending Pasta bowl. I got the angel hair and marinara and ate maybe 1/4, probably less. Tracked it on MFP. Yeah, Pasta = carbs, but it wasn't like I ate a basket of those delicious breadsticks. Ok. I had one. Which had twice as many calories in it than my pasta, but OMG was it good.
A treat now and then - be it sweet or savory - makes this journey a lot less miserable, but now and then can't be every day. That's the one thing that has changed for me and I can live with that.

Don't be afraid, you will be ok.
Do you have anyone to help you? My hubby helped as we measured it and recorded daily. At first we used gloves then figured as long as we kept everything clean we were ok.
Once you get to ake a shower, not sure if you have a lanyard to put around your neck to clip the tube to during shower or not, if no then use a tie or you can take an old t-shirt cut the neck out leaving just a bit of fabric in the front and again pin your bulb to it.

WOW!! Alot of great info! I go Thursday, Aug 16th, band to sleeve revision. I am both excited and alittle scared!

In in my bed trying to go to sleep. Surgery went well. I still cant believe I did it. As warned by everyone, the only pain I have is from the gas. I'm tolerating it as best I can but otherwise pain free.

Dear all - just felt like sharing something totally positive:
Today I am 17 days post-op. I've lost 23 lbs so far and I'm feeling good. I took my daughters to the beach (Cornwall in the UK) and swam in the sea with my 5yr old and taught her how to
Bodyboard! I had porridge and banana for Breakfast, scrambled egg for lunch and salmon and veg for dinner (about 3 spoons of each as purée style at moment and tiny amounts fill me up).
This is for those who may be struggling or scared about surgery - there are great success stories out there and for me: so far so good and fingers crossed I'll get to where I want to be and keep living my life to the full for as long as possible!

My name is Natalee from Birmingham, Al. I was banded May 2008 and lost almost 100 lbs within a year and a half! Everything was fine but then lost my insurance and was unable to have a fill for 2 1/2 years! But during that time due to family stress gained 80lbs back!
Recently I went to a doc in the box because I was constantly nauseous and sick. Doc said it could be related to my band but I told her it couldn't be! Sure enough, went to Dr. Touliatos at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham and the band had started to erode!! So he said it had to come out and he recommended have the sleeve at the same time since I'm still morbidly obese. Within a week the insurance had approved the surgery and I'm getting sleeved on August 17!! I'm nervous of course but ready to have this horrible band taken out!!!
Starting the Pre-Op diet tomorrow and counting down the days!!

Hi, I am type 2. and this is pretty strong in my family. After reading several posts, I am almost sure that I will regain the weight that was lost and that scares me more than anything. I see where you're going. but on the other hand If I go W/O the band and regain, It would make my decision a little easier perhaps. I'm just too afraid to regain. I have come off of 2 of my meds and would hate to go back on them. too risky.

August 16th too!! starting my pre-op diet next thursday!
