Hi Sleeved 11/26 Highest weight 226 Starting weight 218 Day of surgery 199.3 Current weight 193.4 The weight loss is slow but I understand I have less to lose than some people. I'm just happy to see a continued loss no matter how slow Keep up the good work everyone! Jules

Kaiser Northern Ca?
Hi Kimi First day back was good but tiring. I didn't realize how stiff I would get sitting at my desk so when I would finally get up my incision would be sore. Nothing terrible just made me more aware of it. Today was a better day as we were out of the office doing a team activity so less sitting for long periods of time How are you doing? Ready for class Thursday? Jules

Kaiser Northern Ca?
Anytime! I know when I first joined VST I couldn't find much on Kaiser in Northern CA so I'm happy to pass along what I've learned! Thursdays class is basically just 2 hours of information and high level questions / answers. It's required to get the referral As for the others Richmond is REALLY good about combining as many appointments as thy can to make it easier on those of us who work so I'm sure Fremont and Sacramento do the same. They were also helpful in scheduling as early as possible for me so I could still get to work etc Good luck! And let me know if you think of any more questions Julea

Kaiser Northern Ca?
Yes you can take that first class anywhere. I also took it in Pleasanton ( I work across the street from Kaiser Pleasanton) I didn't take FMLA I had sick time banked so just took a week off. Am going back to work tomorrow. I think you can get short term disability through the State of CA or FMLA depending on your employer

Kaiser Northern Ca?
One other thing I forgot to mention... Support groups. Kaiser recommended attending them so I went several times prior to my surgery and it really helped to have people who have experienced the process and surgery to talk to. I'm not usually a big support group advocate but in this case I cannot describe how much it helped me get my questions answered, get to goal weight, and get through surgery It also meant I didn't have to attend another class at Kaiser since the support group counted instead if the 4 hour bariatric lifestyles class Good luck and keep me posted on your progress

Kaiser Northern Ca?
I think you can request Fremont. Just make sure any classes you attend are through Fremont. I know in my orientation and nutrition class when people asked about going to Fremont instead they were told they would have to take the class over at Fremont. You couldn't transfer the "credit" for the class My BMI was at the very low end but I had borderline high blood pressure so my PCP approved As you go through the process feel free to ask me any questions! I had a really good experience

- Post Op Pain.
I'm having the same pain on my right side where my stomach was removed. Surgery date was 11/26. It feels like I'm being stabbed and it seems to hurt most when I get up after sitting or if I overdo it and stand too much etc Hoping it starts to feel better soon. It's my only complaint so far!!- How Do I Fake It - Not What U Think ;)
I feel ya! I was sleeved less than a week ago and attended the first of many Christmas parties tonight. I too kept my WLS a secret, only sharing with a few key people in my life. I explained to the hostess earlier in the day I would be stopping by but unable to stay for dinner / dessert as my stomach was a mess from all the stress at work ( the holiday season is incredibly busy and stressful for my company... But in a good way!) I was handed a drink when I walked in which I accepted but conveniently set down to tour the new house then never picked back up It worked out well Now I just have to get through the cookie exchange party tomorrow! I did manage to bake 3 dozen Cookies without having a single taste. And as forte ones that I will bring home from the party.... I leave those in the car and take them straight to work Monday I hope you are as successful with your family party as I was with the Christmas party!!! You can do it!! Keep up the good work- I Feel Like I Am Able To Eat More Than I Should Be...
Happy to hear others have the same concerns as me! Thanks for the reminder that soup has never been so filling in my life- Living In Onederland!

I also was told no more soda ever since ur can stretch your sleeve. I'm not willing to test it out to find out whether or not its true!- My Surgery Is 12/11 I Have A Question...
I felt like I had heartburn and then felt nauseous when they wheeled my bed from recovery to my room. Once I was in my stable bed in my room I went straight to sleep for several hours and felt fine aside from the annoyingly loud nurse who decided to shout at her coworkers in the hallway- Two Days Post-Op
Thanks to everyone for the kind words and positive thoughts. I will say day 3 was a definite turning point for me. I've been able to have applesauce and cream of chicken Soup. No problems with any of it! I'm definitely feeling more human today than I have since my surgery Monday . The swelling in my tummy is starting to o down and the bruising is getting lighter. I'm moving around easier with so much less pain. Just feels like sore muscles at this point. I did get on the scale today and am still 1.5 lbs over where I was on day f surety but I'm not concerned. With all the fluids they filled me with and all the liquids I've been drinking the past 3 days I have no doubt this is normal For anyone going into the surgery or just coming out, know that it DOES get better and you will feel better. It just takes a few days for your body and mind to adjust Thank you all again for helping me though he tough days- California? Anyone...ツ
Bay Area here. Sleeved 11/26 at Kaiser Richmond by Dr Fisher Everyday is getting easier . First day today in soft foods (applesauce) and so far so good!- Two Days Post-Op
I'm also 2 days post op and am not sure how I feel at this point. I'm happy to be home but feeling emotional and unsure. I've been able to get my Water in and sugar free Popsicles. No nausea or vomiting at all. Can keep all the meds down. I'm site but not in any real pain Not sure why I feel like crying all the time I'm holding on to the fact that everyone says these first days are the worst! Hopefully things only get better from this point on Congrats to everyone on their new sleeve!- What Does Yiur Sleeve Look Like?
My surgeon gave me before and after pictures. Its amazing and gross at the same time LOL My stomach was HUGE compared to my new pouch!- November Sleevesters?
Surgery yesterday went well. No issues other than a few moments of nausea but they started diluting the pain med in my IV and that solved that! I never once used my morphine drip. Didn't need it at all Just got approved to be discharged. So happy to be going home and getting started on the new me! I hope everyone else is doing great! Thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers. They were very much appreciated! Take care everyone! Julianne - Mfp And Nutritional Goals
