Family Feud
I'm sorry to hear you're getting so much grief from your family. Maybe you just need to step back and stay away from them for a while. do what you feel is right for you then just let them know the final outcome. Now that I've had the surgery, I don't care what other family members think because it's a done deal!. We're all here for you!

Doing too good?
I'm still on full liquids til Thursday. I make sure I get in 60-80 grams of Protein and drink at least 8 cups of Water. Since my surgery date, 12 days ago, I've lost 5 pounds which I'm very happy about. when I start my puree stage, I plan on continuing with a Protein Drink and pureeing protein foods to make sure I get the correct amount in. Having greek yogurt or cottage cheese is good. Don't get discourage if the scale moves up some when you get yourself hydrated. It'll only be water weight. I am constantly sipping water all day long to make sure i get enough. Don't sacrifice your health to see the scale move faster. Think of slow and steady means less saggy skin. good luck with getting in all your Proteins and fluids.

How long do i have to wait?
My understanding that it's ok as long as you don't rip open your incisions.

Help, am I full?
I'm almost 2 weeks post op and can eat and drink anything. I'm on full liquids since day 3. I hope I'm not hurting my sleeve, but I drink 3 Protein drinks/soup a day and am getting 8 - 10 cups of Water a day. I hope I'm not drinking too much, but i want to make sure I stay hydrated. I think the fullness comes more when we can start eating solid foods...maybe puree. I guess I'll find out in 2 days when I get to start pureed foods. Oh, yesterday when I had my post-op appt with the surgeon he said I was well hydrated and that I was doing well and can move on the puree in a few days. Like joatsaint, I feel a fullness/pressure at the base of my throat and I burp also. I think this is a sign that I'm eating too fast, but maybe it's a sign of fullness also.

NSV #2 - You Best Step Off, B-hatch!
You're doing great! Just keep it up. You can break up your walking. You don't have to do it all at once. It'll be easier on your feet and hips. Make sure you have the correct shoes and socks. The socks are very important. I bought a nice thick pair for more cushioning but it ended up being too large that I got blisters on the ball of my feet. it took me weeks to figure out that it was my new socks. I've gone back to the older type I had that isn't quite as cushiony, but I'm able to walk 6 miles at a time without any foot problems. I started walking when I started this sleeve journey back in August. I slowly built up to 10k a day. The second day after surgery, I managed to get in 6k steps, then the third day, I got in over 10k. It definitely helps if you started walking prior to surgery. While I'm still home from work, I've been walking between 15k and 20k a day. I really want to get this weight off of me.

Vomiting after Vitamins
Hi, have you tried taking it with food? I'm still on full liquids and my doctor told me now to start my vitamins until I hit the puree stage since it can cause nausea. Sounds like trying another brand is a good idea. good luck with getting your vitamins in.

Unjury Unflavored
It's moot a sweet taste. I put it in soups. For 8 oz i use half scoop so that I don't taste it at all. I mix it and let it sit a bit so I don't smell it.

Frozen Yogurt Six days out?
I'm on full liquids also and my "cheat" sheet that was given to me from the dietician says low-fat/low-sugar yogurt and fat-free/sugar-free pudding. So If I was in our shoes, I would have some As long as it's low-fat/low-sugar.

3rd day of my 5 day liquid pre - op
sorry you're feeling poorly. I got headaches when I first started, but they went away after 3 days. It's probably the caffeine leaving your system. Are you drinking any Protein drinks? Hopefully that could help with the nausea. Surgery is only 3 days away...hang in there!

Those Darn Girl Scouts Cookies
3 boxes of thin mints and 2 boxes of samoas have made there way in my house. The hubby had ordered them from a neighbor. I so badly wanted to rip into a box and have a cookie only because they are thin mints! I stared at the cookies and decided my cream of shrimp soup was going to have to do for dinner. But the SF popscicle sure did taste good!

Work work work
I took 3 weeks since I have lots of use or lose sick time. Then I will have hand surgery and be out another 2 weeks. So I'll be out a total of 5 weeks. I'm making the most of this time off and getting in at least 5 miles of walking a day. I'm in agreement with beba, save your vacation days. Use it as a reward when you've reached goal weight.

My Skin - Pictures speak a thousand words.
Good for you! You need to do what's right for you. I'm just hoping I won't have so much saggy skin so I don't have to spend the money for a "mommy makeover", even though I already know I'm going to need one.

Gas x strips
I bought a box at Walgreens Drug Store and found I didn't need them. I was told to walk around to relieve gas pains. Never really felt any gas pains. I only felt one of my incisions and it was tolerable that I only had one dose of pain med right after surgery. so I guess for me, it wasn't worth it.

Tomorrow I go for my 1 week post op appt
Sorry to hear you're feeling lousy. Try getting some Unjury protein powder. I like the chicken broth and I have the unflavored protein also that I add to soups. lack of protein is probably making you feel so weak. Hope you feel better soon.

2 days post op cant stop throwin up!
Sorry to hear about your nausea. I knew I get nauseaous with anesthesia or pain meds after surgery from prior experience. So I talked to my doctor about it and prior to surgery they gave me a patch behind my ear. I had no problems with nausea then. It could be any pain meds that you are on that is causing the nausea. Try to do without it if you can and see if that helps. Good luck with it. I hope you feel better soon.
