Been meaning to ask that same question ... what is a cheeseburger cupcake? Is it like the name says - cheeseburger in a cupcake pan baked?

Doing great on the water, keep up the good work. I have yet to have a turkey burger...it's been awhile since I've had one. Might have to do one before the weekend is over. What are chia seeds? I like the chia tea, do the seeds taste the same?

    Fruit Anyone?

Forgot to mention... I tried grapes (green ones) too but could only eat 4 or 5 (chewing, chewing, chewing) at one time.

    Fruit Anyone?

I've had watermelon, honeydew, cantalope. My sleeve tells me to have only a couple of pieces on the honeydew & cantalope and about 5 pieces on the watermelon. I've also had strawberries but only 2 cut in half.

No Excuses For Not Working Out

I think I made every excuse there was to make to not exercise. Too tired, too hot, too sick. Ect ect. And I will admit that I still do (did). Now I'm sleeved and I did not hesitate to take that plunge and get WLS, why do I hesitate to exercise? Well, I felt awkward surrounded by people who don't look like they need a gym or need to exercise. Embarassed is the word. I felt embarassed to be seen. Seen, talked about, snickered, laughed at. Damn! that felt good to get off my chest and out of my head. NO MORE EXCUSES! I don't make alot of money and can not afford the prices of gym membership these days. My job has a athletic center that all who work on the complex can join if we want to. It's time to join. And I won't care who sees me. You can laff, snicker, giggle, anything you want, the laffs will be mine down the line. Thank you COsleeveDude!

    Day 1!

You could also get sugar free popsicles. I had those and still get them (I think I'm addicted to them). Don't forget to drink Water too, that was stressed to me from the beginning. You will more than likely be in the liquid phase the 2 weeks before surgery and right after as well. You can do it. Oh yeah, you can try low sodium cream of chicken, mushroom, and I think celery (may have to strain the celery tho.

    Walking ... Breathing

First I have to admit I am not the exercise guru and there are times I do need to push myself to exercise. However, yesterday and today I walked a mile (1/2 mile ea day...its a start). I'm kinda proud of myself for that. I stopped to breath about 2 times ea day during the walk. Found myself getting winded. So here's my question. When doing any type of exercising what is the proper technique in breathing? It seems when I tell people I get winded the first question asked is 'are you breathing properly? Well, obviously not. When to inhale. When to exhale. I live in Washington, DC so I walk around the Monument grounds, White House, basically the tourist areas. I did do 3 miles which is walking from the Monument around the Reflecting pool and back to the Monument. I know this because I walk ea year for the Alzheimer's Assoc. in memory of my mother. So I know I can do 3 miles. Thanks in advance for your support, responses & comments. As always they are appreciated.

I've Been A Bad, Bad Girl

You are on way. Your first step ... admitting it, and you did that. Congrats. I too can relate. Got off track Food was there to pick me up -BUT, I could not eat the way I wanted to during that low state (thank goodness) because SLEEVE wouldn't let me. I'm 8 weeks post op.Once I faced what was going on and why, things turned around for the better. It does happen to us all. That's why we got each other. You are not alone.

    Yoga?

I'm also interested in yoga. I reckon for a very long time I thought yoga was for people who were already 120lbs. I sure wasn't gonna embarass myself at 289lbs trying to do yoga. And now I really want to give it a try. @IsB - where can you get the Rodney Yee DVD's? Best Buy? And what about Pilates? Is that as good as yoga? Or about the same?

    Walking ... Breathing

Much appreciated. Its like the first step to WLS, admitting you need help, help from those in the field of weight management. And I love my team of doctors/nut/office staff. Heck, my therapist had help me tremendously, before, during and after surgery. Exercising for me use to be going to the frige getting a beer and walking back to the sofa. I striving to be a jogger, at least by next summer, I hope. For now I just want to get in the gym, use the weights, treadmill, etc. I said I was getting a gym membership and haven't gotten it yet. I don't want to get it and then not use it after a few weeks/months. If I can committ to WLS I should be able to committ to exercising. It will happen. I will make it happen. Maybe I'll find me an old Jack Lelane DVD and start there
  24. I just posted (in fitness & exercise) how I get winded after walking and trying to figure out why. Kudos on stopping smoking...you did that, you can do this. I stopped on Aug. 21, 1998 and never looked back. I sometimes need to push myself into exercising because I was nevery into it like that. With WLS I was able to walk a mile in 2 days (1/2 mile ea day) but kept getting winded. This is something we all need (bypass/sleeve/band), exercise. I walk at work on my break, I walk when I get home. Walking is one form and I would like to able to do more...in the gym. At some point that will happen too. As for Sleeve vs. Bypass - I joined this site so that should tell you , I am not a fan of bypass surgery. Have 2 friends having too many complications with it. Got 2 friends/acquaintances who were sleeved and loving it. I chose being sleeved and have no regrets. Which ever one you choose I wish you the best and much success. Let us know how things turn out for you. We will be here to lend support.
