Thank you so much Lindsay! I am excited but so nervous..I have never had surgery before..I am having my surgery at Mt Auburn in Cambridge..I was originally enrolled in their medical weight loss program, but then switched to surgical..I had met some of the requirements for surgey without even knowing it..Since my first surgical seminar, it's been 4 months..So It took me a little under 4 months from start to finish..All the appointments, support groups, and medical clearence..So far I've had nothing but an excellent experince with every single person I've met Mt Auburn. I highly recomend it..With that said, I am starting to freak my surgery is 10 days!!

November 5th!! I am excited but nervous!!- Second Guessing Myself
I literally understand everything you went through, and everything that is going through your mind right now. Like you I have tried every diet out there. I would lose weigh only to gain it back with bonus pounds. Im sure everybody on this site can relate. The way I look at is, If I had not tried every other option then I wouldn't be here. I think medifast is the newest trend. and I don't think it will be successful for long term weight loss. I know the sleeve is not a quick fix. But a tool that will help us if we're willing to put the work in after surgery. I'm going to educate myself. excel use, and take advantage of the support groups. I have debated over and over again if there are any other options other than surgery. In my case, I don't think there is. I'm tired of struggling all the time. Im so ready for a chance at a healthier life- Down 95 (Ish) Lbs!
Congratulations buddy! That's great! I'm very close in weight as you were. I hope to follow in your footsteps when I have my surgery next month ! Keep up the good work- What Percentage Of Your Excess Weight Did You Lose?
That's great! Congratulations! I'm hoping to have that kind of success when I have my sleeve done next month- Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Hello fellow november sleevers!! My name is George. I'm 29, I'm being sleeved on 11/05/2012..I am so nervous..But, I'm so tired of consyantly going up and down with my weight..I've been really struggling the last 8 years with this..I feel like my weight robbed me of my 20's..I am looking forward to a new me!! I know it's going to take a lot of hard work on my part. But I am willing..This is the kickstart I need. I plan on meeting with dr's and going to the support groups long after my surgery. I want to change my brain too! I'm glad we have this group and can talk with eachother!!- Had My Sleep Study Last Night...
The same thing happened to me. I just told the guy, I haven't slept on my back my whole life. I literally can not fall asleep that way. They realized after I was staring at the ceiling for 4 hours I was telling the truth. They came in and said, just lay on your side. I was asleep in 5 minutes. I was in and out all night too. The sleep tech said they got enough for a study. I think you'll be fine with yours and not have to go back- Received Surgery Date. Now Fear Has Set In.
I am in the same boat my friend..I worked so hard to complete all the pre-reqs, Now that I have they called yesterday to set the date..My legs started to shake and my stomach dropped..November 19th..Now I'm so nervous!! Glad I found somebody else.- Egd
It's nothing! I am the biggest baby when it comes to medical procedures and this was a breeze. It actually helped me make the decision that I could handle the sleeve. I'm still pre-op by the way. I have my date next month. If there was one thing I wish somebody told me before I had mine it would be to relax. Just relax. It's literally over so quick. You go in, lay down, they give you some valium through the IV. Then, they lay you on your side, prop a pillow behind you so you remain on your side. Next they give you some oxygen so your comfortable. Then they put a little mouthpiece type thing in your mouth with a hole in the middle. The hole is there so the doc can pass the scope. It's not bothersome at all. Then. when the doctor is ready to start, they give you a pain med. Thats all I remember! It took 15-20 minutes..I remember the doc saying "your all set, everything was fine"..Your alittle groggy after but thats all. My throat was a little sore from the scope, but that was it! You'll do fine!- 11 Weeks Post-Op And Lupus
I was going say swimming as well. Something else that is great, low impact is yoga. particularly bikram or hot yoga. Try it, you will be amazed! I wish you luck- Anesthesia Worry
I have the same worry! I have never had surgery before and the sleeve will be the first one. I'm really nervous about anesthesia and waking up from it- Appointment With Surgeron
So I have my appointment with the surgeon Thursday. I am hoping, finally, I will get my date. What questions should I ask that maybe you forgot or didn't think of at the time? I am all kinds of nervous! I don't know why! - Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
