I wish I would have got this done when my high weight was 200 something. I waited until I was 312 lbs... My regret is not doing it earlier

I go to my appointment in a few hours. I only requested off work for two weeks. I feel like I'm fine to go back tomorrow but from what I'm hearing everyone is taking three weeks to a month off. Wonder if my doctor will let me go back tomorrow.

I was sleeved November 12 and lost 25 lbs since preop and 14 lbs since surgery. I have my 2 week check up Monday and should probably be going to work Tuesday.

So I'm assuming if they will be able to tell by the vitals if there may be a possible leak

I have my two week check up on Monday. I haven't done everything perfectly but I feel great. What do they do at this visit? Do they do another leak test? That would be amazing. I started mushies and soft foods before I should have, and while I don't think there's a problem, it would be great to have it confirmed. What went on at your two week visit?

I'm 12 day out and I had to buy a tongue scraper. I do that an mouth wash every few hours. Not sure what I'm going to do when I go back to work Tuesday.

I think that may be what I had yesterday! I bought individual packets so it doesn't have a brand on it

I'm the opposite. I could probably still enjoy the heck out of some food... I don't like drinking. Water used to be AMAZING to me and I would drink it all day long... Now it's hard for me to drink two glasses a day... Not because I'm full... Because its not delicious anymore

I did Atkins for two weeks and lost 12 lbs. I also went to a buffet two days before surgery, knowing it would be my last. I freaked OUT before surgery though... Thinking that binge fest made my liver huge. I'm SO glad I ate that Buffett.

I tried mashed potatoes six days out and i was fine. Maybe if you're gonna get a leak you're just gonna get a leak. I haven't had bread... But I just don't like bread very much.

I got sleeved the same day as you. I tried to eat a spoonful of chicken salad after day 5 because liquids were hurting my stomach and i couldn't stomach them. So I figured if I could just get a spoonful of chicken salad down then that would maybe make up for all the nutrients I wasn't getting. Its day 8 out now and I feel great. My stomach hurts a tiny bit after the first thing I swallow, but after that initial one, I'm fine. I've dabbled in softfoods already, with no problem. I'm doing liquids as my main sustenance because I don't want to overdue it or cause a leak, but I really think I could go to the next stage full on right now. Long story short - it gets better. I guess I was just one of the lucky ones that don't get much pain.
I was sleeved exactly one week ago 11/12 and per my past posts last week, it was a difficult four days or so. Then it miraculously started getting better. I was on Clear Liquids for the first week - and now today I was to move onto "full liquids" smooth yogurts; puddings; cream Soups. So I get up this am with a swing in my step cuz I can have fat free cream of cheese soup! I take four spoonfuls and glee washes over my face. And that's where it stopped.........pain and discomfort when it hits the tummy. I now know where food enters the stomach - and I never even went to med school. So I wait and try again and bam it happens again.
So, what's up with this? Any suggestions, hints etc...am I eating wrong? It has taken me 2 hours to eat this mug of Soup. There is NO WAY I can start timing my Water between my "meals" like they want me to. If I were to do this, I would never drink Water today.

What did your doctor have to check to clear you? I have my two week visit in a week. I'm only eight days out, but I have tried a few mushy foods already and they were fine. Did he ask you if you'd tried anything, and how it went? Did they do another xray to make sure there were no leaks?

I was able to do it too' date=' but ended up in the hospital a week after surgery with pancreatitis, be careful because that was painful[/quote']
Thanks for sharing that. Okay that's enough I make me stop. I can't afford being back in the hospital. Did you get a leak thy caused your pancreatitis?

Thanks. I will go back to my liquids. I just thought that maybe I'm a fast healer... Since I hear people talking about not being able to stomach liquids... And I can already stomach heavier. I chewed each bite a ridiculous amount and took incredibly small bites so I don't think I have done any damage so far. People say "listen to your sleeve", and I honestly expected to feel sick or to immediately throw up if my sleeve was rejecting something...I thought my sleeve would reject it. I'm in no pain at all anymore and I feel like I could even go back to the gym right now. Reading that some people started pureed food while IN the hospital just lead me to think that maybe it would be okay. I wish I had an X-ray at home so I could see what exactly is going on in there!

I am one week post op and I just wanted to see what I could tolerate... I made spaghetti for my family's dinner tonight and I was able to eat 3/4 cup of meat sauce with maybe five or six noodles. It went down with absolutely no problem. I know I know I shouldn't be doing this.... But my question is why could I?
