  1. Yes! This happens to me. I'm almost a year out, it happens periodically, but I cannot seem to pinpoint what the culprit is. Seems like it happens when I get too full... but sometimes I can eat more than others, so not sure what signals the brain to do that! Interesting phenomenon. I spoke to my nutritionist about it at my 6 month, and she said she had never heard of that before! hmmm.... sounds like it's much more common than I thought! it passes quickly, though.

    August 2012 Sleevers?

sleeved August 16. I am down 52 pounds. Very little problems to report. Early on was tough. Restriction is less now, some days I can eat more than others. I have three meals I love... chicken tortilla soup, filet mignon and veggies, and sashimi! Those are my go to foods Cravings gone. Can't eat bread. My hips, knees, and feet feel normal again, no pain My arms don't stand out like a linebacker anymore. Everyone notices and says, "OH my god, what are you doing?" I simply say eating less and exercising!

60 Lbs. Gone And It Feels Good!

    AWesome! Keep it up!
  6. love my sleeve!!!

  7. I have. It's like the food won't go down. I don't know what it is. It's not reflux or acid because it's immediate. it feels like there is physically food around the clavicle area.

    Pain While Eating

I agree with BethL. I was on pureed foods before leaving the hospital. People really freak on here. Each surgeon has a different post op diet and lots of experience with it. I'm grateful that I'm on purees and I'm only 3 days post op.
  9. the reason we can't have it is because we are at increased risk for developing ulcers. Caffeine has been shown to lead to stomach ulcers.
  10. i was on purees before leaving the hospital. I had mashed potatoes, refried beans, and spinach all pureed before leaving the hospital. My doctor is one of the best. Her partner feeds his patients differently. I had no problems with the diet, other than gas.
  11. I was sleeved on Thursday. I drank cold tea today and it was a big mistake... my mouth filled with saliva and I dry heaved for 15 minutes. This is tougher than I thought it was going to be. I keep looking at the finish line, though, and that makes it easier. I am sore, thirsty, etc. Also, I didn't sleep well last night,a t all.
  12. Tomorrow is the big day for me!!! I'm ready, because this clear liquid diet today has not been very easy. I'm really hungry But I am so looking forward to my life beyond surgery!!
  13. My surgery date is August 16. I started my pre-op diet yesterday. it was not bad at all. Protein shake for breakfast and lunch, fruit, chicken, small baked potato, jello. Today is going well so far. Looking forward to being on the losers bench. I have been stalking this forum for months, so decided to chime in. The approval process was a breeze!
