  1. I am due to be sleeved April 8th as well. I was told at preop 3 hours.
  2. Did everyone have to go home with one? If so, how long was in? Did it leave a scar? I will not see my doctor until next week, so inquiring Cheryl's wanna know
  3. I hope and feel like you do after surgery! Congrats! #inspiration!
  4. I was told to lose 15 lbs by March 20th or I would have to cancel surgery. Have I been completely good. No. But I have cut back tremendously and I am determined to exercise as much as I can. Losing a few pounds to get surgery to help you is worth more than doing it without it. So you fell down. Get back up! And if even if its delayed, you will still be on the right track! I have been put on a Ketogenx diet. It has taken some time to get used to it, but I came this far, I will keep going. I have paid WAAAYYY to many co-pays to turn back now! God Bless!
  5. Congratulations on your success as well!
  6. I have re-read your post plenty of times. That is why I responded. Answering a question with a question or riddle does not get us any closer to understanding each other, so I will pass on an answer. Everyone's story or reason they got this way is different and although we can draw some similarities, an answer or solutions for one may not work for everyone else. Quitting a job from your "riddle" may work for you. It may cause mental issues from someone else. We all know making healthy decisions is not the cheapest route, so being without money and homelessness may not be any better than staying at the job. There is no right or wrong answer. Decisions are being made for the better. It's about what is being done now. I encourage everyone to let people have their journey for their self fulfillment, and not belittle someone else's journey because it may be different from yours.
  7. I know too well what you mean. Good luck with the preop diet. I am on one as well.
  8. Let me know the secret of supporting your family, paying bills and trying to be in better health while changing careers. It just hasn't been so easy for me to do these days. I apply, doesn't mean they are going to hire me. What do I do in the mean time?
  9. I went to my final results appointment before surgery scheduling. My Vitamin D was severely low so I got some tablets for that. I have to be on liquids for two weeks prior to surgery. (March 25th). My doctor advises me to go on a KetogenX diet. He says its a new law saying I have to see him within 30 days of surgery, so he told me to lose 15 lbs before surgery. Has anyone heard of the KetogenX or Liver diet? The stuff is so expensive. I can barely afford the surgery and protein!
  10. Glad to hear you are ok! I thought about you yesterday! What did you feel like when you first woke up? How was the first night?
  11. Maybe I am off base with this, but some of these replies seem to indicate some of us have excuses as to why we are like this when the bottom line is we all love food. I think people all shapes and sizes love food! What about the people that eat more than we do but are still skinny. Our bodies responded in a different way! Really there are some(not all) underlying causes here that stem from things other than the love of food.
  12. Desk Job. Drive a total of three hours a day to get there, (four days a week) Single mother, always carrying my child to her activities. Brought up eating SOUL FOOD and church. Church and food. Exercise never a priority, along with eating right. Stress. Every diet I have been on never yielded more than 20 lbs, only to gain that back plus some.
  13. SWEET! Don't forget to update your ticker!
  14. Same practice but I have Dr. Bruce. I have my results appointment Wednesday! Nervous.
  15. I am scared too but I am going to do it. You have lost a lot in three months. Inspiring!
  16. I am getting sleeved in Raleigh too. Who is your surgeon?
  17. Your picture has inspired me!
