Welcome!! We were all nervous on surgery day, it's totally normal. You will get through it fine and be so glad that you made this change in your life. Your future awaits!!

I know it isn't easy. We got into this position because we love food and to think we may never be able to enjoy it like we used to is a tough pill to swallow. But you will enjoy food again and you will get used to the new way of life. In the mean time, you'll also be getting slimmer and healthier. It's not a bad trade off. And speaking of losing weight. You said you are losing very slowly, but I want you to think about something. You're five weeks out, that's 35 days. In 35 days you have lost TWENTY pounds!! That's well over half a pound a DAY! How many times prior to the sleeve did you see weight loss results like that? I'm guessing never, and if you got anywhere close to that, it was short lived. 20 lbs in 35 days is fantastic! Don't compare your numbers to others on here, it's making you feel you aren't doing well when you are doing amazing!! Hang in there. It will get better. Hugs!

omg, I'm having this problem too. Have hardly slept a wink since surgery. It's been bugging me because this was supposed to be my recovery time and now work starts back up again tomorrow and I haven't done a whole lot of resting. I'm hoping though that the long day of work will force me into sleep tomorrow night. I know one of the side effects of my antibiotic is insomnia so I'm hoping once I finish that it will help also.

It is common to have a low grade fever after surgery for a few days as your body recuperates. Generally as long as it stays below 101 degrees it shouldn't be too much of a concern. If it lasts for more than a few days or if it goes over 100 degrees you should contact your doctor.

The first few days are rough! Hang in there. The drinking got a little easier for me around day five. I'm on day eight now and I still have to be careful not to drink too much at one time, but it's much easier and much less painful. Just take it easy and take care of yourselves!!

Congrats, glad you are doing well! I wish I could have gotten this surgery when I was younger instead of waiting until my thirties. Good Luck!!

omg, my first couple of days on the liquid pre-op were horrible. I had the shakes, was weak, and killer headache. But it gets better, I promise! After a couple of days the headache started to subsided and by day four it was gone. If you can get through the first couple of days, you can get through the whole thing. Just keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. Once you get your sleeve, it's a million times easier. Good luck!!

Yayy, congrats on being sleeved! Everything will feel a little better every day. I was sleeved on July 6th so I still have a bit of incision pain myself, but it's getting better. Good luck!

Welcome and congrats on your weight loss!! You and I were sleeved on the same day

Is it considered part of purees, mushies, or softs stage?? I never really ate it before surgery, but for some reason I've been craving it for days now. Can't wait to eat!!!

That looks really yummy. I'm only 6 days out so I can't eat that yet. lol. I'm so sick of liquids already that I can't wait!!

any chance it's heartburn? I know a lot of times the excess acid is confused for hunger. Try taking an antacid and see if you feel less hungry.

It's going great so far. I haven't been sleeping well, but other than that I can't complain much. I haven't had any issues with my new tummy so far, not in pain, and I start back to work tomorrow. How has it been going for you?
