  3. I agree that you did the right thing. It def gets easier. I still have things I cannot eat like soft bread, eggs, tortilla and my fav.....watermelon. Just doesn't go down but everyone is different. I remember being in your shoes....you will get through this!

  11. How far out (post-op) do you need to be before eating the breakfast bars?

  13. my husband does this, but I can guarantee the first 4-6 weeks (maybe more) you will not be able to eat enough of anything to get the protein you need. It is a wonderful plan for when you can eat well again.

  16. yes, don't forget about the fluid retention and swelling from the surgery. Also an 'older' sleever said they would stall or have slower weightloss when not getting enough calories. Your body hangs on to everything I was told. And I, at 4 weeks post-op am lucky to be hetting 500 calories a day! Its hard the first few weeks. Hoping it gets easier! Good Luck!
  17. Congrats on your decision! You will do great!! My family was not supportive either so I ended up not telling them! I am 4 weeks post-op and down 27 lbs and saw them for the first time a week ago and not one of them said a word!! They didn't even notice. But you will find great support on here!! Good Luck!
  18. no drain here but it did take 2 weeks before I was comfy on either side! Just takes time. Hang in there!

  20. I too had UHC and with your comorbidities you should not have a problem. I did not have any and went round and round w them but it was my drs office fault as well. Good Luck Big Byrd!!
  21. both of your attitudes about hairloss is very 'refreshing'. I am extremely worried about the hairloss. I will just have to remind myself that I can get through it.
  22. Thanks!! Will try your suggestions!
  23. Having a very hard time w protein mixes now. Starting 3rd week post-op. Didn't bother me until 2nd week post-op and now I just can't stomach it. I have tried many different kinds. Has anyone else had this problem?
