  2. Happy 42nd Birthday newmaude!

  3. hi everyone. I had my preop appt with my drs office and with the surgery center today. talking with the staff at both offices eased my mind a bit, but I am feeling scared again now that i am home  I think I am officially a worry wart. My banding takes place on friday and they told me today that I'm the first patient up in the O.R. sched for 6am. Any last minute words of advice? Lol, I think I'm still looking for reassurance from those who've gone before me. Sorry  but it really does help me to talk about it. Thanks!

  8. Hi Newmaude,

So far everything has gone great! I don't have any regrets. I had to do something or I would end up being insulin dependent in a year or so. It is scary but the pain is not bad at all. The gas is the worst but that goes away in a few days. I think you will be happy once you get the surgery behind you. It just gets better after that.

Keep me posted on your surgery and let me know how you do afterwards!

    help!

My surgery date is getting closer and Im getting extremely nervous to the point that I'm beginnning to talk myself out of it. I need some words of encouragement from those who have the band. I guess Im needing to know that it will be ok and that Im not making a horrible decision . :tt2::laugh:
  10. Aug 7th and Im scared out of my gourd!!!

    Im Scared!

I guess specifically, I'm scared about the long term complications more than anything else. I understand and accept that there will be post operative pain but i think my real concern is having it done and then discovering that i dont have what it takes to work with the band. im afraid that eating liquids and then mushies for a prolonged period of time with throw me into a depression and i'll begin to think "omg what have i done to myself" i guess i really just need someone that has already gone thru it to explain to me what their daily life is like now that theyve had it done. i think im just looking for reassurance that im making the right decision and that it will all be ok. im a bit of a worry wart :smile2:
  12. Im considering scheduling my surgery in 2 weeks and although I was gungho in the drs office, im now getting cold feet. Im scared to death about how i'll feel after surgery and honestly, the dr never even discussed that with us during the seminar or office visit. any advice from people who've gone thru this and were scared also? please help, I cant decide if i should have the surgery or not :smile2:
