Exercising after getting help
I am currently using a Cellucor fat burning stack. I didn't find that it made me lose weight but it does improve my workout stamina (the caffeine). I find my weight is more dependent on my food rather than exercise. I am getting stronger and increasing my lean body mass via my exercise routine. Reading you routine, I honestly don't think you are working out long enough. Are you doing a lot of sets? I can bust out 30 push ups in a minute. Same with kettle bell swings. I workout 45-60 minutes 4-5 days a week.

How do you treat Obese People?
Having been obese my entire life until now, I try to extend myself to others who are obese. I think I am more compassionate now. I don't talk about WLS surgery or advocate it because that is a personal decision that people have to make for themselves but I absolutely try to be more considerate now. I do find that some overweight people are a bit more cynical towards me now. Before I was regarded as kindred now I am seen as just another 'normal' person who had no idea what being heavy is like. Hence, my desire to be more empathetic.

Frequently Asked Questions
Congrats on surgery. Unfortunately, there is no 'norm' as everyone is different. However most feel that the first six to twelve months are a reset or honeymoon where they lose the most. My stats in signature show you my initial progress. CW 136.

Frequently Asked Questions
That is a question for your doctor to answer. We know nothing about your health status.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not necessarily. A few factors include, how overweight you are, how much you lose, how long you were overweight, your age, if you exercise, and genetics. All play a role in loose skin.

New Sexy Body by Dr Victor Gutierrez
This gives me a lot to think about Sweet Pee. Thank you for posting and sharing your experience. I look a lot like your before photos. My biggest concern regarding plastics is the scarring. How did you get your scars to lie flat and look so light?

New Stomach.
There are no guarantees that hunger is eliminated. Most post experience diminished hunger but it never goes away completely. Just try to differentiate true hunger versus head hunger, which is easier said than done.

Personal Trainers & gyms
I pay nowhere near that. My trainer comes to my house 3 days a week, I found her via Craigslist and she is certified. Shop around. Gym trainers are usually the most expensive b/c they have to give a cut to the gym.

IF YOU COULD tell yourself this 1 thing BEFORE U HAD SURGERY what would THAT BE?
Start working on your disordered eating now.

How The Heck Do You Guys Do It?!
I pre-paid for my trainer to come to my house. Hard to flake out after handing over a bunch of money and then having them knock on your door in the morning.

Personal Trainers & gyms
I find that I need structure and/or accountability. I have a personal trainer that I workout with as well as attend group exercise classes. My trainer comes to my house. When left to my own devices, I either flake out on regular exercise or don't work out with enough intensity.

Do you hope to get smaller than your goal? Why or why not?
I hope to get smaller than my original goal. I set a goal weight of 140 as well as a stretch goal of 130 and now that I am at my first goal, I would like to go lower. I use the scale as my daily indicator but ultimately I am wanting to improve my body composition. I want these next pounds off in order to lean out and lose more body fat. I have good muscle definition in my arms and some core strength but I want my core to get stronger and lose the stubborn belly fat. I lost weight for health AND beauty. Yes, these last pounds could be considered vanity pounds because I do look "good" but frankly they aren't- my body fat is still on the high end of "normal".

Openness and Family
I told just my parents and SO. I flew my parents out since they are retired and helped me out the first week. After that, i was fine on my own. I have a small family but frankly every is doing their own thing so I never felt compelled to tell them.

Close to Goal But Questioning Goal Weight
I think you should lose whatever you can and see if you like each weight. I hit my original goal and now would like to lose another 5-10 lbs. Your gait will adjust once your body gets used to your lighter self. I too look more gaunt than I want because of the facial fat I lost and I'm 40. At 54, I suspect this is the case for you as well. I plan on getting Juvederm to restore a bit of plumpness to the cheeks. Physically, I more better because I walk faster and feel lighter on my feet.

Your Big Goal Celebration
Originally, I had planned on a big splurge purchase, either a designer coat or hand bag for when I hit goal but I was so giddy with my weight loss progress along the way that my splurge ended up being an entire new wardrobe. I find that goal clothing like a special dress that I need to get into by a certain date on the calendar e.g. a holiday party is motivating. I now have one last weight loss goal to lose another 5-10 lbs to get below goal and have a bounce range. Currently I am wedding dress shopping, I will probably order my dress one size smaller and use it as my motivator.

How to get rid of your muffin top
Cutting back or out simple carbs help me. Chocolate and crackers, etc make me poochy. A strong core and getting body fat down to a healthy level (25% in general for women) helps too. Time also helps. My belly is way better now than 5 months ago. If I truly want a flat stomach though, I will need a tummy tuck to address stretched abs and remove excess skin.

Do you miss anything about being Fat? (You're Old Body)
I miss having boobs, a butt, facial fat under my eyes and self acceptance. Before, I was big and knew it. Now I am much more critical of my perceived body flaws.

Can't decided if I want RNY or Sleeve..
I researched all 4 (band, plication, RnY and sleeve). Do your research and as other have said it is only a decision you can make. Ask lots of questions about life, recovery, results for each procedure but know that no matter what anyone tells you, your results may vary. I was sleeved 15 months ago and have lost over 100 lbs so I do think you could lose 170. I was lucky and my recovery was a breeze compared to some. To live this lifestyle and maintain my weight, I track my food and Water intake using My Fitness Pal. I take a multi Vitamin and Calcium supplement daily as well as one or two Protein supplement a day (shake or bar). In addition, I exercise 4 days a week. I still deal with head hunger and clean plate syndrome. Obesity is not a war that is won by getting surgery but now at least I am armed in the fight! Good luck in your journey.

Tell me about your restrictions
Early on I had trouble with bread and refried beans. Now over a year out I can eat almost anything. Refried beans are still tough, can only eat a few bites and sometime they feel like bricks.

Spouse not on board with WLS
You may still fight hunger and cravings. I get hungry and battle head huger daily. Do not believe that this surgery will take away your desire to eat- that only happens for a rare few. As far as your hubby, my DH was against it as well. He was very scared and worried for me. I made the best decision for me and we are both better for it. We now workout together and lead a more healthy lifestyle but frankly my goal was never to change his mind. My goal was to do what was best for me/us in the long run.
