You might want to rent a suit from a tux shop.I'm looking for a nice suit, too, for my sister-in-law's wedding April 1. I have my suit from my wedding, five years ago, that's fitting nicely now, but it'll be beyond a tailor's help two months from now (losing about 25 lb. a month). I've been searching through thrift stores with no luck yet. Will try eBay if I don't find something by early March.

I found this to be somewhat true. And Botox and Juvederm work great.if it's any consolation, I've heard some people claim that a few months after they hit their lowest weight, the fat sort of redistributes a bit and they start looking better - although I don't know if it's true for *everyone*.

When I start my pre op liquid diet am I just supposed to drink five 11oz shakes a day and thats it?
Pretty much. A few pre-op diets allow for popsicles, Jello, and/or one small "lean and green" meal. Of course mine was all liquids, rough but I survived. You will too.

14 days into the new year, and I've yet to properly work out. I was on vacation the first week, then got sick on the last day of the trip. The only moving I've done this past week has been from the sofa to the bed due to vertigo being intense. I'm on the mend and determined to actually make use of my bike and my gym membership again! I'd like to lose 10 more pounds, but more importantly to tone up my arms and legs.
Women, approximately how many calories and carbs do you consume in a day when you're trying to lose 10-20 pounds?
Carbs: Less than 30 grams the first week or two to get the ball rolling and then around 50 grams or so to not totally hate life and always under 100.
Total calories and macros vary by height, weight and activity level.

I wouldn't wait. I think you will feel a lot better 20lbs lighter on a cruise. At 8 weeks out, you are going to get to enjoy all the activities and excursions on your trip and skip the buffets.

So I've been sticking to Protein Shakes and high Protein for a week now. I stopped doing C25k because it was just really hard on my legs and I didn't like how much Water I was retaining.
And yet, NOTHING is changing. I get down to 150.6 and then just spike back up. I'm leaving on vacation on Saturday on a cruise where I know I'll indulge and I'm just so horribly depressed at the thought that I'm going to come back having gained even MORE weight. I'm just so upset and heartbroken and it feels like just a downward spiral. If I've spiked like this and can't go down, I feel like I'm just going to keep gaining. And I don't know what to do.
It's hard to know what's working when you keep changing several of the variables (food, exercise and meal timing). One week is not a longtime and depending on how far out you are, we lose much slower now. To shed Water weight, I go ketogenic (less than 20 g of
carbs a day). I can drop 5 pounds of water weight that way. Long term though I struggle to stay Keto, I feel better at around 30-40 g of carbs. Slower loss but more doable.
I have to remind myself that there was a time when weighing 150 lbs (or anything under 200 lbs) seemed like an unattainable fantasy. Being a few pounds above goal? I have had worse problems and I was ecstatic to be at this weight during my first year post op. Enjoy your cruise.

I still ate a lot of soft/moist foods at that point. I cooked (read over-cooked) a lot of veggies at that point, ate Soups, made baked ricotta, tuna salad. I struggled with things that others had no problems like refried Beans and scrambled eggs. Personally I think that a lot of people rush the stages and/or portions when they have years of regular food ahead. Go at your body's pace and keep in communication with your surgeon as you have.

I'm currently on day 9 post op and I totally felt the same way a few days ago! But around day 5 or so the cravings slowly went away and became soooooo much more manageable! Just keep busy and anytime you start to doubt yourself just remember why you did this and how good it will feel when those pounds come off

This^^^ the first 5 days are the worst but then it magically becomes bearable. Cheating is a slippery slope. Part of the reason I had surgery was to stop lying to myself that I needed help. I agree that you are short-changing yourself by cheating. Don't get me wrong, I posted about wanting to take diet pills during my pre-op diet to diminish my hunger pains and thankfully the folks on here talked me out of it. So as the saying goes, "if I can do it, so can you".

I found very few true haters along the way. Turn the tables and imagine if you saw someone drop weight at an incredibly fast pace beyond the usual lore of 1-2 pounds per week. You would probably comment as well because our transformations are shocking. Everyday on here people post things like, "5 months out and 70 pounds gone forever!" That's not typical for most people and if no one knows you have an extra tool to attain rapid weight loss, why does this surprise you? In the end, I got my fair share of "you don't need to lose anymore" comments but it was never with any real malice, there was occasional jealously once or twice, but mostly just curiosity and true amazement at such rapid change.

Sliders are foods that you can eat a large portion of without feeling restriction or fullness. Junk food (chips, etc.) is often a slider but it can be anything that fits above description.Besides a mini hamburger. I keep seeing that term.
Thanks!

Yes, you can eat frozen meals but I agree with other posters that the carbs and salt are often too high for most.

I am 2 months post op and struggling with finding things to eat. I'm not much of a cook and want something fast when I come home from work. Can we have Weight Watchers or Lean Cuisine?

I'm not a fan of the kitchen either and when I want to eat- I want my food now. I batch prepared food, e.g. chili or baked ricotta. I divided them into small containers and froze them. Then I could just nuke one each night when I come home from work.

I had to thin mine with Water initially. An hour is normal at 4 days out. Experiment with the temperature and consistency.

Birthday Cake Halo Top is the business. I mean come on, it has sprinkles in it.

What is a PPI?
Are you taking a PPI?Down from 200.5 to 198.5
3-1/2 mos post op & first time in 100ville in years
I've been hungry ever since going on pre op diet. I don't know if it's still phantom hunger at this point. What I don't have is the cravings, so as long as I eat a healthy snack/meal then I'm fine. I'm very busy in January due to work schedule but look forward to some exercise time in February.
I would have never said that pre-op

My dr gave me some but I didn't take but for the first few weeks. I could tell I needed it for reflux/heartburn but those symptoms quit pretty soon. Now it's just rumbling & I do feel hungry
I thought it was from not eating much at one time. Just every 2 hours my body is ready for "more" & thank goodness my "more" is with good choices of Protein
Did you have same symptoms & find out it was some sort of digestive thing?

Excess acid can mimic hunger. You can try taking your PPI again for a week. It takes a couple of days to work but see if it curbs your hunger. Same thing with Water, add a little more if you can. If you are dehydrated sometimes thirst signals are mistaken for hunger.

That happens to me but only when eating and after. It means I'm full and need to stop eating. It goes away after hours later once my stomach is empty again.

I had surgery January 9. I started my Vitamins today liquid diet. What are some tips for the liquid diet.

Sip, sip, sip. Take it slow and steady. I drank broth, mio flavored Water, etc. but only in tiny amounts so I had to stay on top of it not to become dehydrated.

Time. Seriously. 7 months of rapid weight loss, your skin needs time to catch up. I have loose skin but saw a noticeable improvement between year 1 and year 2. I also work out regularly and hit my Water goals.

Had surgery 12/14/16 and started Vitamins 3 days ago; anyone had diarrhea after taking Vitamins?
Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
I barfed the first time after taking a Vitamin (thought I was having a heart attack!). I learned that I needed to take with food and space out my dosing. Experiment. You may need a different brand or form (liquid versus chewable, etc).
