Lots to lose
I was banded May 31st with 112-120lbs to lose and after 7-8 months I am about 3/4 of the way there. I hope I can lose the rest before my 1 year band anniversary, but my weight loss has slowed dramatically and I think I am plateauing. Fills don't seem to be helping either. So maybe my body just needs time.

Twenties Chat
Hey everyone! I'm Jennifer and I am 23. I am single and a college student. I am studying interior design and should be done in about a year. I have had some pretty good success so far, but I am having trouble with the last 35lbs. Hopefully, if I relax a little it will all melt a way. Its really great that we all did this in our 20s. We have the rest of our lives to be "skinny."

nsv related to my car
So this was an unexpected nsv. I was trying to get in my car in a parking garage and the car next to me parked so close to the driver side that I couldn't even open the door. I went to the passenger side and crawled in and over the gear shift to get into the driver seat. NO PROBLEMS. Before there is no way I could have maneuvered my body across and over, now it was a piece of cake. So maybe I really am smaller.

Question For The Ladies.....adult Content
The week before and the week of I usually "gain" 2-5lbs and lose nothing during these weeks at all. Then at the end of my cycle I drop the weight plus some (usually).

South Beach Diet Bandsters???
So today is day 4 and I am dying. I like my carbs. I feel like crap too (headache and no energy). I am giving up and adding back some carbs (just try to be smart about it). I weighed and I haven't lost anything, so screw it.

Calories, Protein and Fat daily
I don't count fat, but I get 60-100g of protein a day and around 1200-1500calories per day.

Why are Ports located in different areas of the tummy
I think it is the preference of your doctor. They probably try and put them all in about the same place so it will be easier to get fills. Mine is practically between my boobs but a little lower. Sometimes my bra irritates the port, but its a small price to pay.

Single Bandsters
I think meeting someone with the band would be great. I don't have too many friends my age with bands so it would be nice to meet someone with a band so we could share in eachothers struggles.

Any Post-Band recipe books (simple) you can recommend?
"Eating Well after weight loss surgery" I think this is the name. It tells you how to alter the recipe based on the type of surgery you had and at what stage you are post op.

extremely tight - months after fill
I had a fill a week ago and could eat anything and everything all week until today. I was eating a hard boiled egg and it got stuck. It felt like I was have a heart attack but eventually passed after 10 minutes or so. Ever since I have only been able to eat small amounts very slowly. Man I didn't like that feeling (1st time I have experienced this in 7months).

3lbs to go and I won't be Obese
10lbs more and I will also be joining you guys in the "overweight" category. It will be nice not to be OBESE.

Just Finished My First
That's awesome! And Congrats on the amazing weight loss. I admire anyone that can run. I am jogging a little now, but it is so hard.
-
Medicine
ibuprofen and the like are off limits because they irritate the stomach. I am not sure of any others.

Surgery Date Set 1/29
Congrats! You WILL be a success and you WILL lose this weight. You have made the best decision of your life. Enjoy your journey!

Waitresses and drinks
when they ask me I just order water and sit it in the farthest corner of the table away from me so I am not tempted to drink it.
-
i even failed at this....
Its time to get back on the "Band"wagon. You need to recommit yourself to the band and to a healthy way of living. Go get a fill and starting eating right/exercising and you will feel so much better. It is not too late and your are not a failure...you just got side tracked a little...we all do and we are all human. Good Luck!

Anyone doing Atkins after getting a lapband?
I am starting phase 1 of South Beach to jumpstart my weight loss after plateauing. On the food threads there are forums about atkins more specifically. Generally, I prefer to eat a more balanced diet with fruits and whole grains. But, hey what ever works for you, more power to you.

Why no drinking BEFORE a meal
I always drink before meals but wait at least an hour after to start drinking again. I think the no drinking before the meal only applies to those that are severely restricted. I could see then how the drink would take a while to leave the pouch causing you difficulty in eating. But for me, mine slides right down so I drink up until I eat.

South Beach Diet Bandsters???
So I am starting phase 1 today and will continue for the next 2 weeks or so. I am praying this will jump start the weight loss again. I can see the finish line with only 30-35lbs to go and yet it seems SOOOOO FARRRRRRRRRRRRRR away.

70% band 30% you???
I have 5.3 cc in a 10cc band and I have NO restriction. I can eat A LOT and ANYTHING. I would say that my weight loss is 90% me and 10% the band because I choose to eat a healthy well balanced diet and I exercise 6-7 days a week. That being said, I am at a plateau point in the weight loss and I am still doing the same things. I am going to go on Phase 1 of the South Beach diet and see if cutting the carbs will restart the weight loss. Good luck to you all!
