  1. Trish, thanks for the info, I think we'll prob stay at Harrah's Marina, but probably won't go for a while now. This month is filled with a lot of odds and ends and Fort Lauderdale is scheduled for Oct 16-22, plus I'm trying to work my "touch up" surgery in there somewhere. Our trip to Mexico is supposed to be Nov 13, if I don't divorce DH first. He's been on my last nerve lately. We're supposed to go to the beach house tomorrow because it's supposed to be near 100.

It was absolutely beautiful today. I turned the pool heater on and it was 93, it was heaven.

Donna, you'll have to remind me about the 1st, well a few days before the 1st. Had lunch with Diane yesterday and we did some shopping, we had a great day.

Sherry, what were you thinking! It's supposed to be your vacation, take the time, enjoy a little time for yourself.

Eileenie, hey puppie other mama, glad you stopped in to chat with us.

Kat, I posted as you did, OMG, that's terrible you're going through so much. Please keep us informed as to what's going on. You should PM, Karey Quilts, she had an issue with her band after TT. Here I am thinking of going back in for "touch ups"...maybe not.

Sherry, when you coming to see me, VA's only a skip and a hop .

  2. Kat, painting? I tried that a couple of times, it looks almost like fun, until you paint a few strokes with a brush or a roller, LOL. I know Rick will be very happy and surprised.

Betty, batten down the hatches and be prepared, looks like one H of a storm. How close or far away are you from there?

Diane, are interested in a cocktail this afternoon? I'm thinking about heading your way about 11ish.

Donna, where are ya? I know school is a busy time, but don't forget about us.

Chrispy, those pictures on myspace are adoreable! What cuties!

    Hugs everyone!

  3. Michaele, I love the way you're "nesting" by having your house cleaned, that's my kind of cleaning .

As for pre-op diet, I was on liquids the day before, no special diet prior to that.

Hugs girlie, I wish you well.

On another note, NJ gals, anyone close to Atlantic City? Hubby and I are thinking about going this weekend. Any suggestions on where to stay? Thinking of Harrahs at the Marina, what/where ever that is, LOL. Would love suggestions.

Hugs and stop pacing Michaele, you'll be fine!

  4. Hanna blew through, but we've had higher winds and much higher tides during full moons and Nor'easters. I'm sure my sons think we did an overkill in preperation, but better safe than sorry. Well at least we're a jump ahead in getting the pool deck and patios winterized. All I need to do now is call my pool guy and tell him to put the cover on.

NJSW, you'll be fine. Are you on liquids yet? I had to do liquids the day before, I sure do regret I didn't eat a great big juicy cheeseburger with all the fixings.

    I'll check back later gals.

  5. Howdy gals!

Well, Hanna is about here, power is out, but not a problem here..:lovechoc:. I knew that big investment of a home generator would pay off again. Isabell we used it for 3.5 weeks. We live down a private lane, so we're always the last to get power. Just waiting for the neighbor to want to bring his drop cord over and hook up. It's really cool at night, because all up and down the creek everything is so dark, but we've got our house lit up like Christmas.

High tide will be in a about an hour, it's already up to the pier.

    Anyhooo, just a little update.

    Take care all.

  6. Hey gal pals,

What a busy day! Went fishing with hubby from 9-3 today, didn't catch diddly, but we had a great time. After we got home, we had to batten down the hatches, waiting for Hanna (sp). Had to pull the boats out of their "hangers", ie, boat lifts, and tie them off, otherwise, the tide would push them through the boat house. Then we had to move the jet-ski's so they wouldn't float off their lifts, like one of them did during Ernesto, thank goodness a neighbor brought her home, LOL.

Then we had to go to my son's house, because he left this am for the Redskins vs Giants game in NY, and secure our other boat, which he has been using, while his is in the shop. At least his boat will be safe.

Then we came home and got in the pool, it was wonderful, by then, I was burning up, I don't do well with heat.

It's supposed to start raining tomorrow, then Saturday, and storms on Sunday. Not sure what the other storms are going to do.

Well, that's what I did with my day, but I took time to check in, hint, hint, where are you ladies?

Betty, you had some big big girls, they probably just seem small now, compared to what you had. I'm sure you'll be pleased, especially, once you can start wearing those sexy bras, or better yet, go without one. Had to laugh, we were out in the middle of the bay today, not another boat around for miles, well, lets just say the girls got sun exposure, LOL.

    Nighty Night

  7. Sherry, "cleaning crabs", that's what the ice is for, I spread them out in a cooler, then dump ice on them. It puts them into shock and then when you're SURE they're shocked enough, you can pull the backs off and clean the yuck out and the gills, then rinse and put in the pot. I love this new way of picking crabs.

OK ladies, gonna run, I haven't been to the office since last Friday, and that was only to open my mail, and I'd been at the beach the 4 days before that, so like I said, I've been very lazzzzzzzzy!

    Hugs to all!

  8. Sherry, the grand-kids did not show, except for the 2yr old, we stopped by his dad's house and picked him up in the boat, hmmm, why did I have a feeling this was going to be an all nighter? Could it be the bag of goodies his dad had with him at the pier. He and I got in the pool for about 45 minutes, it was heaven, but then Zac got bored with Nana, imagine that!, LOL.

I went and got the almost 5 year old yesterday, I had to take the Corvette to get inspected, well didn't have to, wanted to, it was a beautiful afternoon. He thought that was so cool riding in his booster seat with the top down, of course, I was a nervous wreck that somebody would run into me with him in the car. Then we came to my house and he got in the pool with Pop, which is now a cool pool, compared to Monday. I'll probably have it covered next week, when it's done it's done.

Not much going on here, I've just been lazzzzzzzzzzy, embarrassingly so!

Eileenie, I still find it quite odd the color of those puppies, LMAO. Maybe you should have named the mama dog "Run Around Sue".

Donna, glad you're excited about school, I was always excited too, when it was time for my kids to go back, LOL.

Diane, we need to meet half way for liquids, Donna, are you interested?

Oh yeah, Donna are you ready for a fill soon, we love to Celebrate fills.

Kat, you are one busy woman! I think it's great your hubby is so involved. My hubby is involved too, only with things he likes, fishing, golfing, jetskiing, yard work, yes, he loves his yard. I'll have to attach a picture later, it is beautiful, especially from the Water. I'm trying to learn to be more like him and think more of me. He did take me fishing Monday and we had a great time, we caught 6 keepers, the weather was perfect, warmish, but a great breeze.

Betty, I hope all the drains are working, can't wait to see your new puppies, Eileenie showed us hers .

Welcome to all, hope you're doing well and the new surgery goes well.

  9. Thanks Sherry, I would have still been posting on August, LOL.

Hope your summer goes out with a splash. I turned on the pool heater Saturday and it's like 92 degrees. It feels like a spa, what a waste of gas, we were only in it about a half an hour Saturday, no one used it yesterday, I'm hoping the grand sons will come over for a little while this afternoon. I'll probably through some dogs on the grill, nothing special. The crab pots have some huge crabs, so I'll pull those up in a bit, throw some ice on them, put them in shock and clean them before I steam them. Seems so cruel, but it makes the crabs so much easier to eat and more enjoyable.

There are so many new ppl on here now, welcome to all of you, but it makes it almost impossible for me to do personals, too many to keep straight, old age is a B.

Hugs and have a safe day.

  10. Just dropping in to say hello!

Kat, hopefully, staying on liquids will calm things down. I know if I've had a bad PB, I have to take it easy the next few days.

    Betty, glad you're healing.

Sherry, my mom's problem was esophagus issues, not the band. She took meds for a few weeks and lots of liquids and she healed nicely, and still has her band.

After almost a week at the beach, I'm having a lazy day, well maybe I should say weekend, lol.

Michaele, I'm sure the last day was very emotional, you're a strong woman.

Trish, hope all is well on the homefront.

Woohoo, Diane, where are you? Sorry I missed your call, I hate this new phone! I've either not hung it up well or it malfunctioned and I've thought I hung up only to have ppl tell me they were still on the phone OMG! It's one of those Voyagers, by Verizon, buyer beware!

  11. Luv, with the muscle I gained, I've lost around 90-95 lbs. I don't weigh very often, the scales IMO, are not your friend. I go by how I feel and the size I wear. I am very happy with the new me, though I could stand to lose another 15-20 lbs, because of my height, it's not a big deal to me. Besides, at my age, the sagging skin begins to take it's toll, my knees look like one of those wrinkled dogs, LOL.

Don't start your journey "afraid" you'll fail, instead start with you WILL succeed.

  12. No preop diet here, just liquids the day before surgery. As for gas pains, I only had shoulder pain. As for tummy pain, I had surgery on Monday, came home on Tuesday, and was off meds by Wed, except for a half a pain pill Wed night.

ML congrats on the surgery. I did liquids for two weeks, then mushies, then real food.

Luv, it has been almost four years, I haven't has a fill since May of 2007, some days I feel like I need one, then the next day, I feel tight as a tick. I don't have plans for another fill any time soon.

Good luck with your big day!

  13. Sherry, I had a hiatal hernia, but it was not as bad as what you have, I didn't have the choking at night, just the pain in the back. Dr. T fixed mine when he installed the band.

Hugs girlie, you've been through so much. Hang in there.

    Betty, we're waiting.

    Good Morning Kat!

  14. Betty, just dropped in to let you know I'm thinking about you and the "new" girls . Can't wait to hear from you and know you're ok.

Michaele, I'm sorry to hear you've received this disturbing news. Did they tell you what the density may or may not be.

    Hugs

  15. I don't know how I missed all of yesterdays posts, but Betty, I'm absolutely thrilled for you. Be sure to take a before picture tonight. What size did you decide on? I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to go back and get the "touch up" part done, as you can relate, I hate being put to sleep.< /p>

Sherry, you go girl, had to laugh at the formation part, my favorite place to ride is in the rear and on the right side. I hate riding next to the line.

Kat, I'm so sorry I missed your birthday, dang it I hate that. I just checked the bday list the day before. Belated wishes girlie!

OK, gal pals, I'm off to bed.

Good Luck Betty, take my phone number and call me if you get bored in the hospital. I'll pm my cell #.

    Hugs
