  1. Ad my nutrition appointment last Monday, I seem to be on track eating and in weight loss for the goal I set for myself of one year weight loss (200 lbs lost in one year)... Then the NUT said to lose 200 lbs in one year I should have lost 60 lbs by three months. Well, I've lost 59.2 and we aren't even a full 7 weeks out... So I've changed my goal on a trail basis and I'm going to try for a 3 month goal of 82 lbs lost... (crazy I know, but it's worth trying) I have the nutrition part of the sleeve down so far, now I need to add the excercise part. For the first time since I can remember I actually want to get up and go... I make sure my shoes are good, have some shorts and head out the door... Then it hits me like a Mack truck!!! Texas HEAT!!!! I think 2 minutes of this heat zaps every ounce of go out of me, I immediately feel dehydrated and can hardly move! I have a treadmill but I'm still not within the weight requirements to be on said treadmill and have a huge fear of breaking this expensive equipment that my husband does utilize! Long story short my body is refusing to be a part of the happy people walking outside (we actually have a lot of people that run in our neighborhood- the hill we live on is apparently fun <--- stupid people!!! If that cars er brake isn't on its rolling and you call that fun??) Any suggestions to beat this heat and get the walking in???

Oh Texas Heat How I Loathe Thee...

Well... Thanks for all of the suggestions!!! This heat is killer! Curses north Texas!!! My husband and kids have an Xbox 360 they fight over, the other day we came across a trial of Zumba... Download and bought the actual version the next day... Did it for the first time and made it a full 9 minutes before I thought I was going to die!!! (that's 9 minutes more than I would have done 68 lbs ago)... Oh and I gave myself asthma (something I haven't dealt with in a long time!) I call that a successful workout... Now for the motivation to get up and do it again tomorrow!
  5. I see the comments that you mind is hungry after surgery even though your not actually hungry... I've even gone through it once or twice after surgery.... But has any one else dealt with other mind games??? A: I'm not willing to take my "fat" 30/32 clothes out of my closet... They are my clothes, I feel like my husband is being evil by taking them away and putting them in a box.... Seriously when did I become so attached to these clothes??? They have been in the box in the middle of my bedroom for about a week now... I might be willing to. Finally let them go to the closet. B: I've lost 68 lbs... I haven't seen it until today... I apparently still have fat googles on (similar to beer googles)... My clothes don't fit right, I had to buy new bras (smaller band size, larger cup size- seriously ridiculous!)... Everyone knows about my surgery and every one says the see it, mind games tell me they are just being nice... this morning I put on my what used to be a size to small stretchy jeans that I had to lay on the bed to zip and then pray that I didn't bust a seam. Today they zipped with easy while standing and I can put my arm down my jeans with out unzipping them (yes I tried). Getting over my mind games slowly but surely... And today I finally see a weightless difference in my pictures... Thought I would share... The left photo was about a month before preop diet and the right picture is today, 68 lbs lighter! Oh and I managed a promotion, one that I've been trying for for about 3 of the last 4 years that I've worked at the company where I work!

  9. I had laparoscopic and 6 spots, 2 had staples, I didn't think they bothered me until they were gone then I realized they were tugging a little once they were gone, they didn't hurt coming out and it was easier getting in the truck after they were out!

    June Sleevers! Hows It Going?

Sleeve on 6/13 I've lost 54 lbs, 21 preop and 33 post op... I'm mourning the loss of my taste buds!!! I used to love water now it is either too chemical tasting or tastes like dirt, my husband thinks I'm crazy!!

    Vitamin D

Low D here too... everything that has been said I have heard as well... and bug I'm right there with you, girls and their softball = a lot of sun! I'm not diabetic, can't remember if it was the pcp or surg that said it but apparently sunblock does so well at blocking sun now days that it is also blocking the d from absorbing. (that is sooooo my problem! I burn to a crisp without it lathered on!) So there are tons of reasons, and simple fixes!!! Maybe we need a -d section on the losers bench
