  1. Ms Yackie, welcome to the Lucky 7's. We have a great support group here, and look forward to getting to know you better. Jump on in, it's been a little slow today, but it will get going later tonight, I hope. We do like to 'yach' a lot, so you will fit right in,LOL!!! So where are you from, and where did you have your surgery? Tinkerbell, did your surgeon tell you whether to use isolate or concentrated Protein powder. I use the Jay Robbs isolate Protein Powder, it's absorbed by the body better than concentrated. Check with him, and I got my Jay Robbs locally, but you can find it at Jayrobbs.com if you can's find it anywhere else.
  2. Sunny, it is confusing, but I still don't drink until 1/2 hour after my shakes, but ask your doc what he says. I figure the same thing you do, it's all liquids, but it is good practice for mushy stage.
  3. Phyl, some docs say a 1/2 hour, some say 1 hour after meal before drinking. Mine is a 1/2 doc, so as soon ans my 1/2 hour is up, I'm drinking right away. May help you et in your liquids. Tinkerbell, you can get the unflavored powders for your soups. I don't like them in my water though. Don't taste too good, but you may be ok with it. Did your Doc tell you how many grams of protein to hit every day?
  4. BiggestLoser, I'm suprised there isn't a show on yet this year, but they may have just got done taping. Now that I think about it, the show usually starts in September. I loved it when they did the shorter episodes in January 06, with the families, military wives, engaged couples, etc. Wonder why they didn't do it again this year. And how do you like the new lady that replaced Jilllian, and have you heard anything as to why she's gone???
  5. Mornig all. Gladster, I had the rumbling too, and it was very hard to tell if it was gas or hunger. Pay attention to when you eat and see if it goes away. Then time it, and see when it comes back. Hunger should subside for 2 to 3 hours and then stat up again, gas will keep going. Brandy, sound like you had a similar experience as I did in the hospital. No real problems, and I didn't have the nausea after I got sick when I woke up. So I've read a lot of you had upper GI afterwards. I only had a x-ray taken while I was still out of it. So there's anothe difference in doctors.
  6. G'nite all. Hope everyone has a great evening. See you all tomorrow!!
  7. lindaa, if you scroll down to the bottom of your screen where it says forem jump and hit on July 07 Bandsters, it will take you to a screen of July 07 threads. It's listed there.
  8. I think I'm headed to bed to read some. I started a good book. I love to read Mary Higgens Clark. I got hooked a few years ago when my MIL gave me some of her books to read. Usually I try to find them at yard sales, but I saw her new one at Walmart and decided to get it. So far, so good.
  9. Wrangler, that's awful experiences your family has had. I'm so sorry for you that those things have happened. I actually gave my surgeon a card at the hospital, but I really was only in my room for 2 1/2 hours before they let me go, so I didn't really see any nurses for a long period of time. Everyone I did see for a matter of minutes were very nice.
  10. Sunny, I wonder where Dini is tonight, she usually pops her head in and out from work. Haven't heard from her all day. It is going on 3 am there, so she's probably catching some Z's.
  11. Icybreeze, it will get there, give it time. You're back to work already, so you've been moving around. Don't want to over do it too soon.
  12. Icy breeze, congrats on making it through all those catered meals. Watermelon sounds soooo good to me. I may have to get some of that tomorrow.
  13. Welcome back IndioGirl and janiee. You've entered Bandland, and seem to being doing well. Keep up the great work. Welcome cate54 to the Lucky 7's. We're a great group and excited to have you join us in your journey!! Wrangler, 5 miles on the bike, that's great. I've been walking for about 45 to 60 minutes, but need a new pedometer so I can tell the miles I'm doing. NewCC, I don't have a fill yet, and I can drink my water in no time. I'm getting in about 100 ozs a day. I don't drink anything else, except the shakes.
  14. Kathybad, I'll have to try your lentil soup. I've never had it but it sounds tasty. My DH loves spicy so he'll probably like it too.
  15. dmtjet, sounds ok, though I've never had it, but I'd think it may be better cold. There's a place around here that serves deep fried pickles, and they are awful, and I like pickles. Some things are just better left in the cold!! Let us know how it is, and what you put in it. Hey, you can post it on the Recipe thread.
  16. PrincessWillow, thanks, I know I'm on the right path now. Brandy, I'm a peanutbutter addict. Love the stuff. I've been putting it into my chocolate shakes. Sometimes I add in a banana too. Yum, and I savor every last morsel of it on the spoon.
  17. I guess I'm glad I'm not a big soda drinker, sounds like you've all went through some miserable headaches after quitting. I'm a water lover myself. I have always hated diet sodas, and would always drink water when dieting. I just developed a thing for it which I am grateful for now, as it helps the lbs come off.
  18. Mango, too bad we're not closer, my DH is a plumber and does A LOT of side jobs. $7,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!That is highway robbery. I haven't heard anyting from Felicia for a while. Hope everything is ok.
  19. Kathy, she's beautiful!!!!!!!! And I'd never know she wasn't yours biologically!! How sweet. Now Hunter can have 2 girlfriends!!!! Mango, you can do this. Won't be long now for you.
  20. Kathy, the kitchen looks great. I think it really opens it up putting it into the 'L' shape. They did a great job.
  21. I almost forgot, SuzieLondon is getting banded today. Good Luck Suzie, sorry this is so late, but the way my calendar prints, it cuts off all the Saturdays. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers. Please come back and tell us how everything went!!
  22. For the 26th I have on the calendar: Frustrated, Sunshine, Kathybad, JennyL. and NewCC.
  23. Hey, has Felicia been on recently today. I remember when she posted a pic of herself, a huge pic and the page ended up like this too!! Sorry Felicia, had to bring it up. I'm still chuckling over that.
  24. Phyl, so glad all is well and you're at home. Hope you have a speedy recovery, and we'll be here evey step of the way!!
