Saw my dr and nut today and the poop issue came up. I haven't gone in 2 weeks. They told me add metamucil or benefiber to EVERY drink even after I go to keep things moving. For how long?
-
Thank you all. I could not see myself ever being able to get to less than 2 Protein Drinks a day due to this problem. I'll start decreasing time frame by 10 min until i find my happy place, hopefully around 30 min.
-
My nut's orders and its killing me. It has no time line to decrease to 30 min either. Is this the norm? Im almost 4 weeks post op!

We are sleeve sisters! One thing that helps me is eating small ice chips. I think it helps me not go so fast. I make slushie/milkshakes with my Protein Drinks in the blender and eat them with a baby spoon. It takes foooorevvvaaaaah, but it all stays down and makes minimal noise. I hope things get better for you every day.

I was self pay in US with a 16Kish bill. We paid about half cash and the other half we put on a new credit card that is no interest for 18 months, so we plan to pay it off before the interest hits. I was saving for a car, but this was more important.

Finding MeMe-I'd love to see a photo of your amazing progress.
thanks guys. My husband notices every pound in some way..."Oh your checks are smaller", "Oh your toes look smaller" he's so sweet and encouraging. I guess I really bought in to it it doesn't really matter what other people think, I did this for me. I just think some skinny people are cuckoo and see everyone who is overweight as fat and they are fat until they are skinny, there are no degrees of "fatness" with them.

forget to mention I had to stop eating by midnight, check in at 9:30am, surgery at 12:30, rolled back at 1:20ish.

So from my highest weight (April 2012) I've lost about 40 lbs. Within the last 3 weeks I've lost 20 lbs. I see people every day that have seen me every step of the way and no one has mentioned any weight loss???? I have not shared that I had the VSG, just went MIA (teacher on summer break) but REALLY??? No one notices a 40 lb loss? I must live among crazy people! /rant.

I gained 5 lbs in the hospital after 2 days of IV fluids! 1 pound every 2 days right now.

mine was supposed to be at 12:30, but they didn't pull my back until after 1:00. I was hungry, but so nervous and full of butterflies I was ok. Good luck!

Thanks everyone!

Catalina, how are you feeling now? I havent been horizontal since surgery. I am in a recliner with a pillow for extra leg support but i walk soooo much. Every hour i walk around for at least 10 minutes. I am having Constipation problems and on my monthly cycle so i dont like sitting and frequent the restroom! Cant wait to get this week over with!
-
Im struggling with this too...and with the side effect of Constipation. Im pretty unhappy. Ill focus more on Water and less on G2 since it has a little sodium in it. I was needing the carbs for energy but id rather be pain free and hydrated.

i tried my bed. Sent hubby to Big Lots to get a recliner. Must have sleeeeeep.

My surgery is at noon eastern. Praying for all the sleevers today...pre sleeve, day of sleeve, and post sleeve!
-
Yep, i'm tomorrow at 12:30 eastern! butterflies!
-
Uhhh. I wish someone had told me to read this thread a week before surgery, or a month before surgery and not 24 hours before surgery.

praying everything goes smoothly!

I am self pay in the US at 16K. That includes 6 months surgery insurance. So any aftercare or complications within the 6 month window is covered.

The only pain I had was the incision pain, and it was about half the pain I felt after my c-section. I stayed 2 nights because I live far away from a hospital with bariatric care. I have a husband, but he had to leave each day for several hours and it left me alone with our lively 6 year old son. I stocked the kitchen with uncrustables (PBJ sandwiches for the freezer), lunchables, apple sauces, his favorite Soups, etc. I know it's junk but I had to make it through the week. When my close friends asked what they could do to help, I always replied "Spend time with Ben". They came over and talked to him and just hung out with him, tried to wear him out, etc. We made it through! Good luck to you!
