Hang in there. How'd the MRI go? Continued prayers!

Amy, how was your day, today? Are you feeling any better? Did you get ahold of someone who would help you? Prayers that everything is getting better.

I want to be able to have just a bite of stuff. I don't want anything to be off limits. I truly enjoy food and want that to continue. I love to cook fresh, healthy stuff for my family. I'm not a baker and have never gone tooooo much for the sweet stuff. Unless it's ice cream. My problem is volume. I've always been a volume eater. I won't miss that at all!!!

Dang it! I keep losing my posts on this stupid site! UGH!!! Anyway. Keep calling your doc or make an appt. Don't let this go! I've got severe left side pain in my back! When it's really bad, it radiates forward and takes the whole left side. It had gotten so bad yesterday that I called to talk w/a nurse. She left a message for him and he called me back about 6PM. He had me go down this morning for an Upper GI. Rad Doc says everything looks good. No obvious leaks but he'd know more later when he could look at it all on his computer. My doc was looking for a leak or an ulcer. I think it's a pulled muscle in my back from over-compensating. Hurts more when I'm moving around and it's hard to find a good spot that does't cause pain in order to sleep. Even on a full dose of pain meds. Don't let the nurse blow you off. Make an appt if you have too!! Take care an let me know how it goes! Hoping and praying you get some sleep tonight.

I had tuna tonight too! Family had green salad w/tuna on theirs. I got the hot and spicey tuna packet, used a little ranch dressing, finely chopped some of the cucumber and put some shredded colby/jack in it! Yummm! Only managed a few bites of it but it was sooo good and I was eating w/my family and what my family was having!!

Why Do We Dehydrate After Being Sleeved?
MamaM replied to topgun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know but I'm dehydrated b/c I'm having a hard time getting all of my fluids in. We also get fluids from the foods we eat. The drier the food, the less moisture we absorb from it, maybe? We also aren't eating very much so that may account for it as well. I don't know. Just theorizing here. -
Sizes 16-24, 1-2X For Sale
MamaM replied to AliveAgain's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I might be interested in some of your 16s. Are they regular 16s or women's? I just hit 16 regulars (misses, whatever they call them! I have no clue! lol!). Thank you. -
Sure hope the new meds work! Take care of yourself and if you don't start feeling better in a day or two, go back in! Don't let it go! make them figure out what is going on w/you b/c this isn't normal! Keep us up to date. Hugs and prayers and best wishes!!!!!!!!!

Call your doc and get an Rx for Prilosec. I'm on it for 4 weeks after surgery. Standard procedure for my doc. Smaller tummy but still producing the amount of acid for a regular tummy. See if that won't help you w/the acid and nausea. Best wishes!!

I can see that. I would be mad about doing it in anger too. Gotta give yourself a break tho. Not that it's an excuse to do something you ultimately don't want to do or feel you shouldn't but it is understandable. How are you feeling today?
-
I am so sorry about your friend. And about your day. Sounds like a rough one. Can I ask a dumb question? Are you mad about eating the bread in anger or b/c you ate the bread in the first place? What's wrong w/having a bite or two of bread once in awhile? I'm really new at this. Found out on May 9th that I had to have my band out and revise to the sleeve and on June 4th, had surgery. I'm still learning, please bear w/me.

I was sleeved on the 4th. I was to begin softs- eggs, cheeses, Peanut Butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, soy milk- this past Monday. I am having such a hard time getting my fluids in that my doc wants me to add another Protein shake to the 1 I'm already doing and just work on my fluids. He says to try stuff as I feel up to it. Laughing cow cheese wedge and a mozzarella cheese stick have gone down okay. Took forever to eat tho. I just tried a taste or two of peanut butter and so far so good. Completely creamy Soups seem to be alright. Have to go very slow w/those tho. Monday, I can add tuna, canned chicken, Beans, fish, seafood, nuts. Not sure. I'm looking forward to tuna. Hope it goes well! LOL! I was told to re-start everything 5 days out. Everything I have is chewable. I've heard others say they started right away while others were told to wait longer than I was.

Well, apparently, I'm allergic to pure whey isolate. Throat kinda closes up and stomach gets all wonky. I ordered some unjury (actually, ordered their sample kit) and had high hopes for the chicken Soup and unflavored ones. Now I've got to hurry and find some alternatives. I don't live in a big town so everything needs to be ordered and I don't have a lot of money. Sample options would be helpful too, if possible. I need some help. Looking at options for ease of use for after surgery. Which is in a week! Something that can be used with broth would be nice too. Variety. Nothing too sweet. I've been searching on here for past posts but am getting bogged down and running out of time! Thanks for your help!!!

Two Months Out And Looking For Easy High Protein Snacks
MamaM replied to shrinkinmama's topic in Food and Nutrition
I started doing that probably about 20 yrs ago when I did the Richard Simmons Diet. Can or pouch of tuna, plus cottage cheese- I add about 1/2 a cup or so, sometimes more, doesn't matter, it's a preference thing. Plus a chopped hard boiled egg, Mrs. Dash or Lemon Pepper to taste. If it's a little dry then a smidge of mayo can be added. I like to add a little mustard to mine. Not too much tho. Then for crunch, anything goes really, frozen peas, pine nuts, Water chestnuts, pickles, celery, radishes, apples, whatever you have on hand or sounds good. -
This Is Why I Trust The Sleeve (Long Story)
MamaM replied to NisaletOAM's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have Kaiser insurance and it was all taken care of thru there. There are probably surgical centers in Fresno that do sleeves, I just don't know who or anything about them. Sorry, I'm not much help. -
My surgeon and his nurses said to start getting used to carrying an insulated bag w/a cold pack in it and some of the things you can eat at any given stage. I found a metal bento box system at Amazon that I plan to use, both for taking to work or when I know I'm going to be out for several hours. I also found on there an insulated lunch bag that looks like a purse. It's got a pocket on the front that will also help for those days when I'm just taking my phone, keys and ID but will be out long enough that I'll need possible re-fueling. With an insulated bag and cold pack, you'll be able to take cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, lunch meat- all kinds of stuff.

Two Months Out And Looking For Easy High Protein Snacks
MamaM replied to shrinkinmama's topic in Food and Nutrition
I love tuna and cottage cheese. I make it a lot and have for years. I throw in a chopped hard boiled egg too. A little Mrs. Dash, sometimes I add frozen green peas, or celery, or pickles, or chopped apple, or pine nuts. Yummy!!! Other ideas would be hard boiled eggs or egg salad. chicken strips. Hormel makes their Natural Choice line that is w/out nitrates and nitrites. Can be found in the packaged lunch meat section of the grocery store. Flavored cream cheese spread. I use the garden vegetable w/cucumber and carrot slices. Don't know if you can do veggies yet, tho. I keep a jar of Peanut Butter and a container of cashews in my desk drawer at work too. -
Hit 99 on my front porch today. I live at 3,000 ft. level. That is just NOT right! I hate the heat!!!
