    Anxcious?

I was a mess with anxiety right up until I woke up in recovery and found out it went great! Two weeks later, i dont have a care in the world regarding my sleeve. I know as long as I follow the rules my chances of success are great. Best of luck to you!
  4. My PCP never really listened to me when I "complained (his word) about my struggle with wl". He always made me feel fat and lazy. Knowing this, i decided to ask my obgyn who has always been wonderfully supportive. If you have another longterm dr, perhaps insurance will accept his/her recommendation. Best of luck!

    Help!

I'm so sorry that you are going through this, it is certainly something every one of us fears. If it were me, I would go to my surgeon's office. Mine stressed over and over again to make sure we come back if we have fallen off track. They won't judge you, your success makes them more succesful! Good luck
  6. Thank you for posting! We have almost identical stats, you gave me a glimpse of the future. You look beautiful.

  8. I have gone through a 10lb weight gain in the hospital, nasty breath, crazy digestion, dizziness, exhaustion to feeling like I am now on the other side of this! I was getting really annoyed that I was not losing any weight beyond re-losing the 10lb hospital gain but finally I dropped an additional 5lbs. Yesterday, I tried on a pair of capris that "shrunk" last summer and they buttoned, zipped and were more comfortable than when I bought them. As an added bonus I found $13 in the pocket, so I splurged on a manicure! I am having an easy time getting my fluid and protein in, walking more, digestion is much better, much less soreness and no more dizziness on days 9 and 10! Thank you for letting me share my small acomplishment
  9. Hahaha, it was all singles, sorry! I love your sense of humor, thanks for always making me smile.

    I Found The Culprit!

Flintstone Complete Chewables! They seem to be the favorite with patients at my surgeon's office, I have no trouble with them. Good luck!
  11. Today is day 10 and I feel great! How are you Feeling?
  12. I was a wreck!!!! You really should have your husband there, at least to see you off to the OR. He can come back in recovery. It is going to be great, just find ways to busy yourself. Best of luck to you!

    Nervous

Hi there! I did a ton of research pre-op, my husband joked that I could probably do the surgery myself. My best advice to you is to follow the doctors orders exactly! Some of the rules may sound silly or daunting but I really feel that it does prepare you mentally for post-op. Wishing you the best!
  14. I had surgery on 8/14 and am on full liquids until next week. I can drink clear liquids no problem but my protein shakes make me feel what I assume is "full". I had tomato soup last night for the first time and I stopped at about 2.5 oz with that same full feeling. I think we are all trying to figure out the new feelings of hunger and full, I would call the NUT and just run it by him/her.

    Oh, The Smells!

Thanks for the biotene tip, I will have to get some.
  16. I am 4 days post-op and doing really well as far as recovery and adjusting. I was a bit bummed that I gained 10 lbs since surgery date ( they doubled my IV fluid because I seemed dehydrated) but today that weight is gone, yay! I have noticed since the hospital that my urine and breath smell like rotting cabbage (eww). It isn't the same bad breath I had with ketosis so that's what makes me wonder about it. Anyone else smelling funky? Is this a permanent smell??
  17. I totally understand! I am not a nurse but my biggest concern was laying there with random flab hanging out. I wore my own pjs (loose, lightweight cotton) the morning after surgery, right after my catheter was removed. My nurse unhooked the IV for me so i could change. My doctor was impressed that I was in regular clothes and moving around!
  18. I hope you are ok! Come back and let us know.
  19. Yes, I gained 10! I lost it all by today (my surgery was tuesday 8/14)

    Weight Question

my doctor gently suggested I lose 20-30lbs pre-op while doing my required 3 month weight management. I followed their low fat, low cal diet with a few "mardi gras" moments (one last time having fried clams, cold beer, pizza, steak). I got really serious about it 2 months prior to surgery and lost 25 lbs by surgery day. Not only did it make 25lbs less to lose post-op but I believe it put me in the right frame of mind for post-op. Good luck to you!!!

    New Guy Here....

Hi there. Welcome! I just had my surgery 8/14 but spent months reading posts on this forum. Best of luck to you, I look forward to seeing you around:)

    Thoughts On Unjury?

I tried unflavored in homemade broth and I couldn't get past the smell. It was pretty bad. I am 3 days post-op and today all I could stomach was premade EAS chocolate. Please note that I was pretty gaggy pre-sleeve, so I am not surprised that I couldn't take it.

    2 Days Post Op

I am 3 days post op and back at home. That upper GI was awful, I threw up. Thankfully I passed. Do you have a drain? Just tell them to rip it like a bandaid, it's not pleasant. I am on full low fat liquids now at home and it is all going down well but it is a full time job! I am very gassy too. I look forward to getting skinny with you!
