    Will you still be hungry?

Hi lotsacurves, Southernwoman here I know how you feel I roughly weighed the same when I finally had had enough. This may sound crazy but the feeling of fullness and being satisfied with a smaller amount of food is total bliss! However what you probably already know if you have spent time reading any of the threads is that the lap band is not placed around our brains. Karla (another me) wrote it best when she replied back to me with "attitude is a big part of the equation". I was blindsighted by the still overwelming presence of cravings. I am so thankful that I stumbled on to this website it seems to be helping me cope with this problem. I hope that it will be easier for you than it has for me. Also just a little side note my brother inlaw was the same way as a baby apparently he was always hungry my mother inlaw told me she too had to go to feeding him solids very early, and he is as skinny as a twig always has been. Some people are just blessed that way I guess. My point is the way you were as a baby does not entirely influence how you will be as an adult. Just hang in there YOU CAN DO THIS !
  2. I was banded on December 29, 2006. I have since had 1 fill and managed to lose 37 pounds. when I had my surgery I weighed 247 pounds. Even though I have made such a serious decision to undergo this procedure I have always feared that I would somehow undermine my desire to lose the unhealthy weight. well now I think I am beginning to do just that. I can't seem to get a handle on my cravings I can be stuffed and still manage to eat whatever I want. I have experienced pain from either eating to much or not properly chewing my food. I would like to know if there is any advice on how to overcome this insatiable need to satisfy these cravings. I fear that this unhealthy mentality is going to get me in trouble.

    unhealthy habits

Thanks for all of the advise I now understand that what I'm going through is not anything new. Although I probably will continue to struggle with the bad habits I will keep in mind that change happens slooooowly. After all I didn't wake up one morning and find myself suddenly weighing 206 pounds. As far as another fill I had mine done back in April. Talk about making bad decisions I came home and tried to eat chocalate cookies! Having written that I am begining to think that maybe I am afraid to lose the weight. Anyhow I am in no big rush to have another fill. Right now I need to work on my attitude towards food.

    so cool

:clap2: I would like to give all you guys a big round of applause! I am so happy to see just how normal I am. I was beginning to think all my hangups were my own doing but now I know how wrong I was. I was banded back in December. My first fill was in March. I still struggle everyday and lately I've been eating all the wrong foods for all the wrong reasons. I am a mother of four active children the youngest being only 9 months old. Sooooo that alone doesn't leave much time for me. Anyhow thanks a bunch you all.

    Is it right for me!!!

Oh my gosh you sound so much like me! Listen to your heart only you can make the decision to undergo such a drastic measure. I had my surgery in December. I have lost weight but the eating to deal with stress, depression, anger etc...... That for me has not disappeared. I hope you find the answer to a more healthy you whether you choose to undergo lap band surgery or not.
