There is somthing called Severe Hypoglycemia that more and more bypass patients are getting. It happens mostly to bypass patients who were not diabetic prior to surgery. It has been known to happen to sleevers toom but long ter studies have not been done, as with bypass. My friend passed out at work 2 times and after running all the tests they were able to diagnose her. She did not faint, she had a seizure because of her low blood suger. I would suggest getting a glucose test done.

That sounds about right. But its best to rule out any possible clots. Glad you are feeling better

My surgeon does not really provide much information during our visits. He usually seems rushed and the visit consists of any questions I may have. Well, I dont know what I dont know, so I dont always know what to ask. Any suggestions of what I need to know?
Thanks

My nut gave me a high Protein pudding recipe that is really good. (1/2 cup serving)
1 box fat free, sugar free chocolate instant pudding mix
1 16oz container nonfat cottage cheese
1 12oz container fat free cool whip
1 scoop chocolate Protein powder
4 TB skim milk
Can you give me the recipe for the Protein ice cream? Sounds good!

My surgery was almost canceled because I had dark stools. Attached is a color chart for your poop. http://www.puristat.com/constipation/bowelcolor.aspx?gclid=CI35xp_2ybACFQhahwodSiImZQ

Wow, how did they find that? A coincidence? You are a lucky girl. Keep us updated as we keep you in our prayers!

I was sleeved on the 13th and I have lost only 6 pounds. I dont think it is realistic to lose 10 pounds a week. Rather, average out how much you lose per month because our body fluxuates. But I hear you, I thought I would have lost more but at least I havnt gained!

Hey Juners,
How many calories are you taking in each day? The first week I was about 300 and now I have moved up to 500+ during week two. Is this too much?

This is my 7th day out. I developed a rash on my tummy (I think it may be a heat rash from from the binder). I was constipated and now I have the runs. I am off the pain med only have slight discomfort around the incisions. I tire very easily and have difficulty getting 68 ounces in. However, I am able to drink 8 ounces of Unjury chicken Soup within 20 minutes. That really surprises me since my stomach doesnt even hold that much. Thank you June sleevers for keeping us updated n your progress!

Its all across my stomach and down my sides, not just around the incisions. And it has come on so fast! Was thius your experience too?
Thanks!

I had surgery last Wednesday and today I noticed a rash that has gradually spread all across my tummy. It is hot and itches terribly! Has anyone had this after surgery?
Thanks

Everytime I drink or "eat" I get gas and I am always feeling bloated. Does this eventually go away? Should I take gas-x for it?
I have not pooped in a week. I have taken Miralax and nothing.
I have no pain at my incision sites but I do have a hard lump above one of them with some bruising. Could this be an adhesion?
Other than that I am good. I am a little weak and tired but otherwise, all is good!
Thanks for listening. Have a great day!

DId this start 9 weeks out, or right from the get go? Have you tried altering your diet (i.e. excluding milk products)? At first it sounded like Constipation but the constant diarrhea sounds more like a bacteria or food allergy.

Maybe it is a side effect of the pain meds? I'm glad it goes away because it is was not a normal occurence prior to surgery!

SInce having surgery a few days ago I am frequently having leg, arm, head, foot jerks while falling asleep that jerks me awake. It happens every time I relax. Has anyone experienced this?
-
I was on the fence even as they rolled me into surgery. As soon as I woke up there was zero concern. If I backed out then I would have to return to my yo yo dieting that really depressed me.

I was consistetnly losing weight prior to surgery and now I am at a stall. Im sure my body is just trying to figure out what is going on.

Are you taking your Vitamins? Our bodies are adjusting to an extremely low amount of calories and the B12 will help with energy. Have you had your blood tests done again? Your Potassium and Iron may be low. My BP was all over the place while in the hospital. I was concerned because one reading was actually high but the doc said it was because of the pain.

It also depends how much you need to lose. The closer you get to goal or the lower your BMI, the slower the losss. However, give yourself a full year to meet goal. Your body is adjusting to a new life.
Please Tell Me How Many Calories I Should Eat At This Point.
