  1. I don't have enough to lose, so I hope I do not lose much. I would think if you eat plenty of protein, that should help a lot. Yes, the surgery is part of it, but protein also plays a big part in hair loss.
  2. take care of your stomach by not wearing tight clothes for at least a month. There is no sense in taking any chances and hurting your nice new sleeve. You have all the time in the world to wear tighter clothes once you heal. Remember, your body has experienced a lot of trauma, take care of it!
  3. Glad to hear that everything went through for you. I am private pay so I know the stress of getting the money. We were able to pay for it, but I don't know what I would have done if I did not have the money. It is worth every cent though, believe me! Good luck and keep me posted on your surgery!
  4. I am 3 days post op and I feel good. Perhaps a little weak, but I feel good.
  5. I hope I am as successful as the rest of you in 3 months. 40lbs would be so awesome!
  6. I am so excited for you! Please keep me posted on how your surgery goes
  7. I am going to stay on the diet to a tee and see what my results are...right now I am healing and feeling very good about my decision. I hope all goes well with your surgery, and please let me know how you do!
  8. thank you guys so much for responding. When you are going by the book to the tee and gain wt, especially on the clear diet, you start to get a bit worried that something is wrong. They should tell preop patients to expect a gain the first week, then they will lose. If they don't gain, good for them, but if they do then they would be prepared!
  9. My insurance did not cover my surgery, so I was outpatient.
  10. Try not having lost a lb since surgery! I am 3 days out and NOT ONE POUND
  11. Vicki147 commented on Nicole76's blog entry in Nicole76's Blog
I have not lost a lb since the surgery and I am eating or rather drinking, by the book!
  12. I had Dr. Miles and he was Awesome! Tell him Vicki Gier highly recommended him! I did not have any nausea and very little pain. The St. Vincent's people are wonderful, caring people, so you will be in good hands. I cannot say enough about Dr. Miles. If you have not met him yet, know that he is very experienced, and has a way of putting you at ease quickly. Let me know if you have any other questions. Are you inpatient our out patient? We stayed at the Hampton Inn. I recommend room 112. It is close to the front door.
  13. I am having decaf tea, water with flavor added sugar free, jello, and broth.
  14. I have not lost a pound and I am 3 days out from surgery. I thought for sure that being on this clear liquid diet would help me drop the wt. My surgeon says it may be water wt from the surgery. Has Anyone else NOT lost wt the first few days after surgery? HELP
  15. At what point did you all start losing after the surgery?
  16. had mine Monday and yes swollen, but to horribly. I want to know if anyone gained wt while in the hospital?
  17. I had my sleeve this past Monday, so I am two days out. I am doing very well. Please email me if you want to know how my procedure went and I will tell you every tip I have to get throught the surgery. I am blessed that I had a great experience!
  18. Valerie that is awesome. Please let me know how your procedure goes. Make sure to walk!
  19. Decaf is the answer forsure!
  20. @ Disney, Don't Cheat! You will do fantastic if you stay on the pre-opt diet. Keep me posted on your success. I was sleeved Monday, May 7th and had the perfect experience. Please email me if you would like to chat via email!
  21. I think the trick is following all the rules, never cheating, and really have your psyche set before the surgery. The oddest thing did happen to me though because I was so anxious before surgery. I was great in the room, but the second they started wheeling me to the surgery room I started crying and didn't stop until they put me to sleep. I remember thinking "How could I have let food take over my life to the point of having to have surgery?" It was then I decided that food was no longer my master, the Lord God was and I would, from this day forward treat my body as He wanted me to. To all of those who have not yet been sleeved, please feel free to email me and I will answer your questions. I was an outpatient and it was fine (another concern of mine was why do insurance people get extra medical care and private pay people sent home).
  22. I was Sleeved yesterday and did GREAT! No nausea, little pain, no gas pain, only some slight pain in my left shoulder which my surgeon said is due to having the drainage tube next to my bronchial tube. Today I walked a LOT and feel GREAT. If anyone has any questions, please just ask. I am ready to share my experience.
  23. I understand your fear. My surgery is in the morning and once I go under, that is it, 80% of my stomach is history. I will not be able to eat when and how I want, I have to learn to eat the right amount or I will get sick. BUT I am going to be healthy, and I am going to look great! And Live longer. When you get concerned, think of those things...is eating the way we used to eat worth losing 10 or more years of our lives?
  24. Mine is May 7th, Tomorrow!
  25. Mine is Monday and everything is stressing. I know I am just worried about the surgery and pain, but this is crazy. I cannot find my cell phone and it is freaking me out...now...you need to know this about me, I am not a cell phone addict. I turn it on when it benefits me, but, I am upset and it is absolutely silly! I have posted some pleas for help, but only a couple of people have responded to my questions and pleas. I feel alone.
