  1. Down 31 lbs as of this am! Woottttt! People are starting to notice, even some who don't know I had this procedure are asking "are you losing weight??l" love it!
  2. My emotions have been nutty too lately - I think it's a cross between the hormones and our body adjusting to lack of calories. Hope you feel better ((hugs))
  3. I put my fork down every few bites and remain conscious of what I'm eating and to take it slow- it is all in our minds - it's going to take some time before we get out of the "shove it in as fast as we can" mindset.
  4. I am in week 6 of my journey and I am starting to add exercise to my routine. I work full time as a nurse and I have a family, so spending an hour or more At the gym exercising isn't really feasible for me 3-5 times a week. What is more important at this stage? Weights or cardio? Right now I'm doing 30 mins on the treadmill, and I expect to get cleared Friday at my 6 wk checkup to start weights, but I don't think I can do both in one day, time wise. should I focus on cardio at this point and do weights when I can or the opposite? I am definately physical-fitness-challenged lol Thank you
  5. 4/24 here too- I can eat more types of foods but I really don't know how much- I can eat a small veggie burger, an egg, a cup of yogurt, and and 3oz of tuna (each as a seperate meal not all at once lol). As long as I keep losing I am going to eat until I feel full, and keep up on the water as best I can. I wouldn't worry about how much you're taking in, as long as you're gettin calories in and not hungry. Down 24 lbs as of last week.. Really doing better- id like to stick to 2-3 lbs a week, but I'm happy with anything!!
  6. I am almost 6 weeks out and I started doing 30 mins cardio a day, but have any of you used wii for weight training? I have the wii fit plus and the biggest loser games, but I wasnt sure If they were mostly for cardio
  7. Crystal lite iced tea- in addicted to it- the taste makes me want to finish my water so I dont cut it down cuz then I don't drink as much
  8. Awesome! You look great!
  9. Down 24 lbs as of today-- happy about it but having a rough day so I'll celebrate tomorrow
  10. MamaT posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
About how many grams of carbs do you eat in a day?
  11. MamaT replied to jagc0304's topic in Soft (stage 3)
  12. How are we doing night shifters? My weight loss has been great so far, 19.5 lbs ( as of last thurs) and I have been doing better with drinking fluids. I make sure I fill my large water bottle at least 3 times during my 12 hr shift. Challenges Are always the snacks that coworkers bring in.. But I always have something on my own (usually sugar free pudding). I have been sleeping better during the day and u contribute that to all the protein and hardly any carbs still at this point. No lifting yet but coworkers always chip in... I see my surgeon sometimes on my floor ( i work on the post op bariatric floor) and he always says how proud he is of me and that always makes me smile )
  13. its not the best tasting stuff in the world, but you take it only a few times so its not too bad
  14. I had started tuna and mayo in the puréed stage.. Just make sure it's super thin consistency- lemon juice helps thin it out
  15. Down 19.5 - sleeved on 4/24- I'm happy with that--- just started treadmill 30 mins a day walking with a 4.0 incline so I'm interested to see how that impacts my losing. I'm worried what will happen when I start introducing more regular foods - I'm hoping it doesnt slow things down- but if I stay at 1-2 lbs per week, I'm thrilled with that!
  16. I live in Hawthorne and had my sleeve at Valley hospital .. Would love to meet someone from the area and exercise together!
  17. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2008/02/got-crabs.html?m=1 No the only modification I made was I didn't put pimentos in it cuz I'm not crazy about them.. But when I reheat them I'll definately have to add moisture maybe lemon juice & Water. I only hope now I have leftovers cuz my husband just tried one and now he's in love hahahaaa
  18. I made Shelly's Italian crab bites for dinner tonite!! They were sooooo good! And mushy enough for me to enjoy on the soft stage! The recipie made about 24 bites, which will make a whole bunch of lunches and dinners for work!
  19. They have fat seats? I never knew that!
  20. We are going on a cruise may 2013 and I can't wait to get a sexy evening gown to wear! It will our 10 year wedding anniversary and I really want to wow my hubby
  21. You know what? We r human... I swore to myself when I had this surgery that I wouldn't be perfect in my eating... I mean can we really expect ourselves to resist everything all of the time? If i had one chicken strip, I'd enjoy the little that I had an move on. I'd be sure to make extra healthy choices the next few days in fear of falling into an old habit trap, but we should allow ourselves a little something now and again. As long as it doesn't make us sick...
