I too made my first real disclosure this week. It was to someone who I'd heard was having the surgery as well. It actually felt good to talk to someone outside of my family about it. At this point, I'm over the whole thing of wondering what other people will say and think. Don't get me wrong. I'm not going to advertise my surgery, but if asked, I will certainly admit it.
