Got a call tonight. My surgery will be the first one Friday morning. That's great because I won't have time to dwell and be worried. It does suck cuz I got to get up @ 4 am! Anyway, hope anyone that had surgery today is recovering well.

I am with you. I have been struggling through this pre-op diet. I feel week and dizzy. I have been getting plenty of liquid. So I am guessing it's carb withdraw. I went through this when I was on Atkins the first few days. But the differnece was I WASNT hungry! It's nice to know I am not alone in this. I have been heating up chicken broth and adding some seasoning to make it seem like soup. Also adding ice to drinks to chew on something. Sucking on sugar-free candy too.Trying to keep my mind off the hunger but it's hard. Good luck and know I'm there with you!

I was in the same boat. Let me tell you as the day draws nearer it doesn't get any easier! I work as a medical coder and I read horror stories all day long. I just got to have faith it will all be okay. I am dwelling on the days after and my goals and Christmas so it doesn't give me time to worry about the worst. I wish there was a way to not think about it but it's human nature. Good luck to you and I hope all goes well for you. BTW I had toi do a 6 month diet it all depends on the insurance carrier. I am currently 3 days out! Crazy!

I never was able to get back into the yahoo account. I am doing something wrong. Oh well. I pray all of us have a great week! Let's keep our eyes on the prize! MAybe that will help with the nerves. That's what I tell myself but it's not working. IM NERVOUS!

Wow it is creeping up! Getting excited and nervous. I feel totally ready but not ready. I can't explain it. Fell like I'm going to forget stuff.

Well surgery is less than a week! Next Friday! I have a sore throat hope it's nothing because I really don't want to put off the date. I'm getting nervous though. How did everyone do? How is the pain?

I agree with Tina seems like the right thing to do. BTW Tina we are sleeve buddies!!!!!!!!!! Also I am having trouble getting back to the group site? 3 days not weeks!

The headaches come from the sugar withdraw from carbs. I remember that when I was on atkins. I can't believe my doctor didn't put me on a 2 week diet. Mine is only 3? Mine best advice to drink the shakes at least for the pre-op dieters is to pick one taht wasn't your favorite before. For example, I loved Choclate shakes but the protien chocolate tastes nothing like it. So I have been drinking vanilla (for my 6 month diet I have been having them for breakfast) and I think it's good. That's just my opinoin and what works for me. Good luck to you all!

Well sugery is coming up in less than 2 weeks getting excitied and nervous. I am going to go in with low expectations with the staff and maybe they will surprise me.

Well I feel like I have been on a rollercoaster ride this week! I just found out they have resceduled my surgery to Novemeber 30th! Which is great because it's a week closer but also sucks becuase now I have to ove PTO time and rides and all that crap around it to change after I just got done scheduling it. Plus I was just starting to be apart of the December sleevers team. I'll still keep up with you guys since I'm last day of Novemember anyway. Just Crazy had to vent !

Hello everyone I'm joining all the groups i can right now. My surgery is coming up 11/30/12 and just looking for like minded peps! I live just outside St Louis in Union MO. I'm excited and nervous Dr. minkin is my doctor and I have heard he is very good. Aligayle i haven't heard from you in a while how did the surgery go and what did you think of Minkin? PLEASE Keep in touch I'm sure i will be asking questions soon. Luckily I only have a 3 day pre-op diet but I'm getting nervous about post-op pain. Anyway still super excited and want to hear how you all are doing.

Hello, I am the 30th barely made the November group! I had my surgery moved up from 12/5/12. I like this sub-group idea. Good luck to everyone through Thanksgiving. I lucked out...I only have a 3 day liquid diet so I won't miss thanksgiving. But I'm not going to gorge either. This will be my first year preparing a turkey. Anyway, keep in touch please! Hello everyone! I just joined this November club today. I'll try to keep it short. I'm 32 married we have one child a son and of coarse the family dog! We live just outside St Louis Missouri. I did the Atkins thing lost 70lbs then I got pregers and the weight just creeped back on and now plus some! I have been on a roller coaster ride this week. Found out I was covered by insurance Monday then waited till Wednesday to get surgery date. Fought with HR today getting everything squared away for my 12/5/12 surgery date only to get my date moved to 11/30/12. It's great for me but then I had to call HR back to straighten everything out. Oh well at least I work from home. So Hello! BTW I see that some of you had your surgery this week. How did it go?

Well I just found out that my surgery date has been moved up. I was originally supossed to be sleeved 12/5/12 but there was some sort of scheduling conflict and now I will be sleeved 11/30/12! Crazy Excited! It's just one week but hey the closer the better! Man this last month has been a roller coaster ride!

OMG you won't believe this I just had my surgery date moved up on me! Got so much crap to move around now. November 30th is my day now!

Congrats! Do you have a date yet? That was the worst for me waiting betweeen approval and getting the date.

Hello, I am just excited becasue today I found out that my insurance approved all my paper work tomorrow my doctors office will be calling to schedule the surgery. They are thinkning it will be the first week of Decmeber. I can't believe Decmeber is almost here and we all will be starting the journey soon. Of coarse we have been on the pre-op journey too. All I can say is Merry Christmas to me! Same to you whatever you may Celebrate this will be a great start to the new year! Can you tell I'm a bit exited? LOL Now it's time for me to start preparing-work, family, and myself. the plan for me is to start walking more and practice not drinking with meals. That is a tough one for me!
