About Me

I'm a 58-yr-old writer & artist who's struggled with weight issues all my life. I had Lap-Band surgery in September 2007. It was the smartest thing I ever did for my health.I lost 92 lbs from my highest weight, my co-morbidities resolved, I have tons more energy and self-confidence, and my band helped me maintain my weight loss for almost 4 years. Although I love my band, I'm having it removed and revising to VSG because of esophageal motility problems. I have a lot to learn about the sleeve, but I plan to make it as much as (or more than) a success as my band.

I've published 3 books: Bandwagon, Strategies for Success with the Adjustable Gastric Band; Bandwagon Cookery; and a novel, No Ransom. I also publish a free weekly e-newsletter, Bandwagon on the Road. Bariatric dietitians throughout the USA recommend Bandwagon to their patients, and I've been told that its strategies are helpful for any bariatric surgery patient.

I'm the author of 4 blogs:
