Is anyone else as sick of this as me?
I hear you. I had one person say to me the other day, "I'll just lose mine the old fashion way." I just smile and say, "Good luck with that." I agree, if anyone thinks it's taking the easy way out, then oh well. I know what I have to do to lose weight, especially without a fill.

Want to Drink while you eat?
My surgeon said that it is ok to have a small glass of 3 ounces of Water with my dinner. She said that it's enough to wet the mouth, but not enough to push the food through the pouch. I agree, it's a great trade off.

Ginger & Soy Tuna steak-YUM!
So I take it that soy tuna is the fake version of tuna for vegetarians? I've heard of Tuno before, but was told that it is pretty gross.

Help with after-banding food options
There is a thread on this food board called "LapBand Food Stages Lists". It is a sticky thread and at the top of the board (I think it's the 3rd from the top) That should give you a good idea of what your doctor might suggest for you to eat after your surgery. Hopefully that helps, and good luck with your surgery!

Stretch marks WHERE?
Sorry sweetie - but the only way to stop the stretch marks is to lose the weight. I have had the same issues. I have stretch marks all over my body, including my upper arms too. I hate them! To help reduce the appearance of the ones that you already have though, cocoa butter is awesome. It will help fade them away to just little silvery lines that are barely noticeable. You'll have to use it for a while to notice a difference, but it's well worth it in the end. I've been overweight for so long now, and have stretch marks in so many places, that I just gave up trying a long time ago.

I came out of my little band closet
I agree with Anwyn. It's a very personal choice and there's no folly in making it a case by case decision. If you feel that you can help someone by possibly saving their lives with the LapBand info., then I say go for it. When we can reach outside of our own turmoil within, and share a ray of hope and kindness with another human, that indeed shines about loves' pure light.

Happy MLK Day !!
A Happy one to you too and everyone else here on LBT! If nothing else, MLK showed us how important it is to have dreams, then set goals and decide how to make them happen!

What helps cure the frumpies?
I notice that this happens to me in the wintertime too. I believe that for me it's a lack of sunlight or (SAD). It seems like if I exercise a little more, and try getting out in the direct sunlight (even if just to run some errands) this helps me out tremendously. I sure hope that you get to feeling better soon. I know that feeling frumpy isn't fun at all.

The one piece of clothing every plus size girl needs?
I have to have at least one good fitting pair of jeans. There is just something about the comfort they give on a relaxing weekend.

Question for all you Moms & Dads out there....
The single most useful thing I had when Dylan was a baby was my sling. I cannot say enough about it. As everyone knows, a baby will cry and cry when you put them down in their bassinet/cradle, etc. to leave the room and go do something else. They want to be close to their momma! So what better thing to have than a sling to put them in and keep them close to their momma! You can find these on Ebay for a very reasonable price, or order them from different places online (but that will cost you more). The maya wrap is one version which costs more. I just had a friend make mine in exchange for some web work I did for her. If you do decide to purchase a sling for your friend, please make sure that you get one with solid welded steel rings (to ensure sturdiness & that they won't break). Usually ones made of cotton material are the best bet, and ones that are unpadded work the best as well. Both will ensure that baby doesn't get too warm snuggling up with momma. Any other info you need feel free to PM me anytime. I honestly can say that having the sling was the best thing ever for us.
