  1. OMG-I tried the microwave cheese slice today and it was AWESOME. I used Borden pepper jack slices. Definitely worth the 60 seconds it takes to cook, lol! If you are a Parmesan fan, you can do the same with shredded parm. Just pour some on a paper plate and zap. Perfectly crispy cheese. Yum!
  2. Oh, Chiggen, I am a convenience fiend, and I hate cleaning. Those liners are second nature, lol! I have an awesome, EASY chicken and dumplings crockpot recipe if anyone wants it. And, a family favorite is whatever cheap cut of beef I find covered with a full jar of pepperocini pepper, juice and all. I shred it and put it in tortillas. The meat is so flavorful and juicy, it would be perfect without the tortilla for us sleevers.
  3. Crockpot words of wisdom: Buy the crockpot (disposable) liners. They make life and cleanup a thousand times easier!
  4. I love my B12 supplements. I use the under the tongue ones first thing in the morning, and I can definitely tell the difference if I forget. One day I took it after dinner-bad idea-lesson learned- I was up all night, lol. Even took a trip to Walmart at 2:00am cuz I was so restless.
  5. Thanks you guys! I'm gonna take it easy. If I feel worse, I'll go hit the urgent care clinic. If I feel the same on Monday, I'll call my doctor. Best of Both sets of advice!
  6. I'm three weeks out and I think I pulled or stretched something! I am feeling really good and was moving furniture around today. Now I am having a very weird pain in my stomach radiating around to my back. Any thoughts or words of wisdom?
  7. I had the band for four years-hated every minute of it!! I've been sleeved for three weeks and already love my sleeve. I feel like it is doing exactly what the band should have done. With the band, I threw up frequently, had intolerable heartburn, and was always hungry. I would just get stuck, not full or even close to satisfied unless I drank while eating to force food through. Kinda defeats the purpose. With the sleeve, I am totally full/satisfied after small portions. I am having some trouble with dairy, but my dr reminded me that my stomach is like a new baby's and needs to work up to stuff. I think nothing will be totally off limits, but even if a few things are, it will be nothing like the band. I know this is a big decision for you because I was dead set against it because of my failure with the band. Am I glad u spent so much time on this forum!! This was the best decision EVER!!
  8. B12 is a great idea. Even better than the chewables are the sublingual (under the tongue) ones. I got mine at CVS. I learned a valuable lesson, though. I took it after dinner and had a terrible time sleeping. Three am trip to Walmart to work off the energy, lol.
  9. I HATED my band! Besides the vomiting, reflux, constant fills and unfills trying to hit the sweet spot and port issues, I was ALWAYS hungry. Never satisfied, just stuck. Very frustrating! I LOVE my sleeve! A little food goes a long way and I am totally full and satisfied.
  10. Mine hurt like hell-not because of the drain itself, but because my doctor pushed down on my stomach with his other hand for leverage. Felt like I was kicked in the gut with steel toes boots!
  11. What about water aerobics?
  12. A good way to sneak in a few extra grams of protein is to mix in some nonfat powdered milk to your pudding, cottage cheese etc.
  13. I love it-sleeve siblings!! I'm also planning on meeting with the Houston group in may. Looking forward to chatting with you!
  14. May is actually better for me, too. Gotta live the STAAR test-NOT! Lol
  15. Another June teacher here!! I teach 7th grade Houston and am scheduled for June 15. Can't wait!
  16. It's a grocery store. Very common in Texas-not sure where else.
  17. Absolutely gorgeous! Congrats!
  18. I am scheduled for June 15. My stats are pretty close to yours: 5' 185 lbs LOVE to eat. I am a band revision and was a huge failure because of how I like to over eat. Let's stay in touch since our dates and stats are so close.
  19. I'm in Katy and would LOVE to have local folks for support. Count me in.
  20. Hi Ana, I haven't gotten my sleeve yet, however I am scheduled for my band to sleeve revision in June. I am right at 5' and am scared to death that I'll get discouraged because I'll be a slow loser because of my height/BMI. Did you lose regularly at a decent rate? Thanks, terri
  21. I'm scheduled for June 13. Can't wait to connect with you all to compare notes. I'm in Houston.
