  1. I hit that target a month or so ago. Fun thing to celebrate!!!!! You GO Girl!!!
  2. Where is Lindale Texas? I have clothes for you in Frisco TX.
  3. I have 2 boxes of clothing that I will donate to anybody who wants them. I live in Frisco, TX so please let me know if you are close and interested!
  4. I would only eat things that you are sure you can handle when you get started back at work. My experience is with (like Tracey said) new things, eating too fast, or not knowing when to stop eating. It's a difficult balance for some of us to find. It's no fun to be sick at work. Good Luck!
  5. Thanks for the great ideas!!!
  6. OK - I'm just over 3 months out and happy with my 48 pound weight loss. I work a lot and am getting tired of yogurt for breakfast, fruit for snacks, mostly soup for lunch and eating a tiny portion of what I cook for my husband at night. Is eating 1/2 cup of canned soup a criminal act? How about mac and cheese? I can only buy so many vegies before they go bad as my hubby eats very few. I make a regular meal about once a week and then have left-overs but usually end up throwing part of it away. Lean Cuisines and similar items seem to be too much of a serving - seems wasteful to me as well. I love the people who make their bento boxes and tiny little egg treats and freeze them but I just don't have the time. Is there anybody else out there like me?
  7. I would be super thrilled if I were you!!! You look awesome!!!!

This happened to me during the first few weeks as well. You're getting used to how much you can eat and this is hard. I guess it's better than the alternative if you know what I mean? That happened to me quite enough as well. I am just over 3 months out and can now judge pretty well how much to eat so I don't get miserable or sick. Just give it time.
  9. Hi - first of all, stop playing the blame game. It's OK to fall off track. We all do. Once you have the surgery it will be so much easier to make these changes. I only had to do the 2 week protein shake diet before surgery, but had 3 months to indulge, and boy did I ever!! I gained 5 pounds once I got my surgery date set in about a month. But, surgery date was April 17 and I am down almost 50 pounds. You will great!!! You are making a great choice!!!
  10. I have wondered the very same thing, but I agree with Tiffany has part of the success of what we are experiencing. I know that if I ate as little as I do now I would be constantly hungry, shaky, and unhappy. I know that people who have had the gastric bypass DO get hungry so that's one reason I chose this surgery. I have been lucky to have only a few people scoff at what I did - one called me an a*****e and a gigantic hypocrite [on Facebook for all to see] to do what I did and actually tell people about my journey. She said that not everybody can afford to better themselves and therefore I was the bad guy. She, I might mention, is not overweight which makes it even stranger. Oh, well - enough about my little life. I'm happy with the choice I made and YAY for the rest of us!!

Hello all and thanks for the great feedback. We are working on things and I am recognizing that it's me who has to change and not expect him to do it all. Everyday before I go to work he tells me how great I look and that he loves me. That in itself is a wonderful thing. I have started exercising in our pool and he even joins me some times which is fun. Down 8 more pounds since my original post so that helps. Whenever I'm stuck in a stall I get depressed and feel like I can't do it!! We are both cooking now and I just eat a tiny bit and he is getting used to it. He even packed up the leftovers from last night for me to bring to work today. It's hard but we're trying and thanks so much again to everybody!!
  12. Honey - you are doing do good!!! I was 262 and nov amad 215. I feel like I have my life back. You have to look at ar yourself and praise the lord for you decision, It's a good one. Your liife will change.
  13. I am very careful who I am totally truthful with. It's not like they don't have eyes and probably figured out a ball park figure. I am trying to focus on the compliments I am getting with new outfits!!! I used to be very concerned with what others thought of me, but I try to only focus on the positive now and just shake my head at the negative and not dwell on it. It's just not worth it!!
  14. I'm glad you are calling your doctor. You should not be looking and feeling so tired!!!
  15. Jonathan - best of luck to you!! I am a casual smoker (two or three a day on work days, and more on weekends). I want to quit too, but it's hard since my husband smokes. My advice is to cut down slowly, but you probably know what works best for you!!!
  16. How weird, I have dreams of this happening. Now I know it's possible! Thanks for sharing your funny story!!

Congratulations - it just gets better and better!!
  18. I'm the same way - had surgery on April 17th this year. i have been stuck between 222 and 224 for over a week now. Very frustrating!!! But as Mina T says above, this has been the story for me. i lose about 5 pounds, then gain some back and then lose again. It's a yo yo but at least it's not a lot to gain. I don't know how people CAN gain much since we can't hardly eat anything. I'm going to just keep hoping for the best and eat the things I should!!!
  19. I just started swimming this past week. I have been bad and done nothing for the first 10 weeks. There's a lot you can do in the pool - laps, water aerobics, kickboards, etc. Fortunately we live in TX and I just have to go in the back yard. It felt so good to finally do something!!!
  20. That happened to me too - wow it was painful and frustrating!!! I kept taking laxatives until they finally worked. It took about 3 days for me. I haven't had any problems since thank GOD!!! Good luck to you!!

Thanks for the insight MKambalimath!! I should mention that I also moved him from Seattle to Dallas because I lost my job and being the only bread winner I had to go where the money was. His family is in Seattle and I think he resents me for that sometimes. He can't do much for himself and maybe he's jealous that I have made such a big step and he isn't my whole world anymore.

I am about 10 1/2 weeks out from surgery and have lost 40 pounds. My husband seemed very supportive of me and says he's happy for me and he's proud of me, etc. We have had sex twice since my surgery. He's been sleeping in another room - which he used to do when I snored which I don't do anymore (or so he tells me). He doesn't say anything but I think he's annoyed that I don't cook dinner very often anymore and that when I do he ends up eating 80% of it and is gaining weight. Another thing, my husband is special. He has a brain injury and can't work. HIs memory is horrible and he also can't drive. He hates being trapped at home all day and really hates it when I call him the house husband. HIs brain injury was in 1987 and we got married in 2008. I knew about his physical problems from the start. Maybe that's why it seems like I have a roomate now instead of a husband.

I in my 10th week and gained 4 pounds last week, then lost 2 and am frustrated just like you are. I think it goes with the program, but that doesn't make us feel any better about it!! Hang in there!!
  24. I'm very familar with the "I have to lay down now, honey" phase. I haven't beat it yet. At home we generally eat in front of the TV so I eat fast. I have no problem at work because I usually am working when I eat and then it takes 2 hours. I can seem to eat slow at restaurants but for some reason at home it just doesn't work for me. Today I've been snacking too much so I need to leave the Snacks at home!! Gosh there is a lot to learn, huh!!!
  25. Hey - this happens to all of us~!!! Don't beat yourself up and just get up tomorrow and try to do better. It's a change of life and that can't happen overnight. I am about the same place as you are, I was sleeved on April 19th. I've had my moments, trust me!!! I'm jealous that you are in Bellingham. My husband and i had to move to Dallas from Bonney Lake 2 years ago. We really miss it!! Enjoy the good things in life and try to remember what you are thankful for. It does get better!!
