  1. Yes it will-it is the largest incision so it wil take more time. Welcome to Lapland!
  2. When I set short term goals, i figure about 2 lbs a week and set a goal from there. That way there are stepping stones along the way. I hope to be 205 by valentines day and then I will probably set a goal of 198 for St Paddy's day. It keeps things more interesting!
  3. 4 more to go- thats a lot for 10 days, but I will try!!!! You are all doing so great!!!! I am starting tho think about a Valentine to St Patrick day challenge!!! 4. Thanks ladies for all the practical solutions. I don't even want to think about PS yet. For some reason it scares me! I have some of the massingil gel, so I will try that and pick up some lotrimin powder. Thanks again!
  5. I have question about loose skin and sores. Below my belly, i have an open sore right at the fold of my belly and crotch. My skin there is not too bad (Loose), but this particular area doesn't get a lot of "air" if you know what I mean. I am scrupulously clean. I still have about 30% of my weight to lose so PS is out of the question for now. Any solutions or advice?
  6. I recently had the same problem and realized after a while that it was from sugar alcohols. I try to avoid them because they make me gassy. I didn't realized that the sugar free gum I was chewing was loaded with them. That being said, I think the band itself increases gas, but there may be something else going on
  7. Once you taste them they will never tempt you again--they are the worst tasting crap ever! I got some free samples, took a bite of one and gave the rest to my less fussy son and even he won't eat them and we all know teenage bys tend not to be real picky!!!
  8. ten more pounds, just 10 more pounds!!!!!!
  9. I still check in most days. But with the impressive stats you've got there is no way I am posting! You go guy!!!!!:frown:
  10. I have a neuroma and a hammertoe on my right foot. The pain comes and goes. Some days I can be on my feet all day and then go walking for an hour. Other days I get up and the first thing I feel is an electric shooting pain through my foot. Did this bother me at 330 lbs? Of course not!! It seems that the more I exercise the worse it gets. I can really relate to the concept of your body interfering with what you want to do!!!! It drives me crazy-I have my toes taped up all the time, I get some inquisitive glances in yoga, but at least I can do it with my toes taped. Man,:frown: getting old sucks!!!!
  11. Is nympho a kind of fish?
  12. My name is trystelle and I am a diet coke addict. I have been sober for 6 months and 17 days. If I can give up diet coke (elixir of the gods) than anyone can. Honestly I don't really miss it. My tastes have changed-If I had a choice between a DC and a V-8, I'd take the V-8! If you told me that a year ago I would have laughed in your face. YOU can do it--What you gain is so much more than what you give up!!!!!:tt1:
  13. I got it at Trader Joe's (best market in the world). I am sure you could get it in any large market near the couscous, rice, barley and such. Natural food stores would have it too.
  14. Who cares! All that matters is that we are improving our health-any change in our looks are just gravy!
  15. Honestly-that sounds gross! Try this simple recipe 1 scoop of chocolate flavor Protein powder 1-2 tablespoons of sugar/fat free chocolate pudding mix 1 cup skim milk Blend in blender and enjoy
  16. A vegetarian friend of mine Turned me on to quinoa (keenwa). It is a whole grain that has been seaten in South America for centuries. It has a Pasta like taste to me and goes down well compared to pasta or rice. I made some in my crock pot with sweet italian sausage and tomato sauce and it is great! Quinoa, uncooked amount 0.25 cup calories158 protein5.57 g carbohydrates 29.28 g 2.51g dietary Fiber
  17. I eat about 1500 calories per day. I burn about 2500. This allows me to lose about 2 pounds a week. Sometimes I exercise a little more and will lose a little more. I have had only 1 week since April when I did not lose at least 2 pounds with this plan. I also eat 6 small meals a day.
  18. I beleive it is up to the insurance company. Many of us did not have to do it and our insurance paid.
  19. This seems to happen a lot with chicken, especially the breasts. I would avoid chicken for breakfast and save it for lunch or dinner! It sounds more like you were "backed up" but not far from stuck!
  20. Yup-twice, once in 83 and then again in 87. Not going back this time!
  21. Is Splenda made with sugar alcohols? I did not think it was.
  22. I am staying on plan because I drank too much wine and ate too much crap yesterday!!
  23. Of course I worry about a chance of slippage or erosion, but I have spent 4 decades worrying about a heart attack, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sore knees, hip problems, posterior tibialis tendonitis and gastric reflux. Some of these I had, most were on their way. To me it was an easy trade. I have no regrets and am aware of the complications that are possible.
  24. Hi Sue-You and I have a lot in common. Similar band dates, weight loss and pounds to lose. You are doing great! I.m rooting for you. Onederland is right around the corner for both of us!!!!!
  25. Don't give up! It will be worth it. Your doc is wrong. I have lost 120 lbs in less than a year. I would insist on getting back in to talk to your regular doc if there is a problem with the paperwork. You may also want to consider changing docs, since it seems the one you saw has little knowledge of the medical condition called morbid obesity and its current treatments. Shame on him! He sounds like the kind of guy, that if you go in with a rash or a sprained ankle, he's gonna tell you its because you need to lose weight! Some people, even doctors are biased against MO folks and can't see beyond it. Doesn't make for a very good doctor!
